From: Rhianna Larkham Yea, i tried the looprez and got completely lost in all the numbers lol, i much prefer Vints better Considering I don't want to make skirts, I want to make necklaces and as far as I can tell Vint's doesn't do necklaces...I'm hoping I can understand all the numbers if I purchase LinkRez (by the makers of LoopRez). At the moment I'm saying bad words under my breath because I had some quiet time in world to load a bunch more textures into my Texture Organizer and got booted out unceremoniously to desktop. Tried to log back in and got the "Due to, blah, blah, blah....logins are disabled." Ok...but prey tell why I was IN and got booted OUT! Grrrrrrr....

Don't you just love Second Life at times.
Vint's very easy when it comes to skirt, no idea if it could possibly be used to make necklaces, maybe someone who know's scripts a bit better than me can answer this?

From: Rhianna Larkham Grrrrr now me too *sigh* I really hate Second Life at times, i was just finishing my newest outfit. Since it looks like the official log in message has changed from people not being able to login due to high volume to something about the server...I think we got the LL rope-a-dope originally. ...which would explain you, me, Jojo and probably everyone but the bots booted out.

From: Rhianna Larkham I don't think's it's just that either though Amar. I think you have to position them around your neck, head etc so that they fit perfectly. I know there is the looprez script out there that can do it but not sure how? yep this is exactly how i do my necklaces and by the way i never ever use the loop rezzers cos they dont get the prims small enough and they dont look as good. I build everything by hand. I basically stand on a pose stand and if immaking a smooth chain like this one i shrink a torus down then start playing with the hole sizes, the path cut and holow til i get the thickness i desire. I will go in work later and pull out a chain necklace made a few months ago for my partner which has like 200 tinyprims for the stand. It is stunning, but i have to warnyou that you will go mad tryign to make tiny chains like it hahaha. Ill find out the specs for it and post it

Il be honest folks i really hate necklaces made withthe rezzers and that is it. You can always tell and they never sit perfectly on the neck. Also if you ar using prims smaller than .01 on any side there will be a gap with each prim becaue it measures the bounding box not the where you have cut and dimpled and whatever elsed it.
Tanking the time to move each prim into place by hand is HUGLE time consuming, however the end ook is beautiful, elegant and looks real. With chainsesp it also allows youto add a twist to the chain to get that realistic look to it.

Guys- the Surprise Sale worked big time! I have had huge traffic numbers and yes sales too! Mostly on the reduced items but not just - heck someone bought a copy of my stained glass wall! I released the Challenge item -btw- like I said it wasn't a challenge in that i stretched- just that it was a different for me. I will post it later when i add it to SlExchange etc.. Mean time it is in Talon Faire.

I've only used looprez once at a class to make a pearl choker and the Vint's rez thing in a class on prim skirts. I haven't worked a whole lot with tiny prims yet...but when I have...I LOVE them. (I've always loved miniatures of most anything.) So, will work on honing my skills and save the lindens I would have spent on the LinkRez. And thank you for the info on how to make a smooth necklace...that one had me totally stumped.

I give up for now lol ACCCCKKK!!! That ranks right up there with the time I went to a trivia contest awhile back. It was being held in a club that featured pole dancers. Now I generally do not patronize pole-dancing type clubs, but the contest was in the day (EST) and the club was being utilized exclusively for the trivia. I took a seat in the back when I arrived, then was told to come up and sit around the stage as that is where the contest was being held. Ok. Great trivia contest...lots of fun. When I left instead of tping back home like I usually do, I was in a hurry and just logged off from there. Later that evening, was enjoying some intimate time with my partner when SL crashed. I logged back in to see the "Your region isn't available...." and was dumped into the club I had been earlier...ON the stage....nakkie!!! I couldn't hit the X button fast enough!!!!

Sold a castle skybox today, another skybox last night (oddly, to the woman I had to refund before, and it's the same as one of the ones she bought and I refunded...) and I've been pondering some of Cel Edman's sculpties to add some detail to my builds. Re: necklaces. I don't know how useful they would be, but I stumbled across these sculpty necklace 'thongs' while I was searching SLX for various sculpt maps, so I'm throwing the URL out here for anyone that wants to check them out: http://slexchange.com/modules.php?name=Marketplace&file=item&ItemID=777845

The only one which it would be good for is the necklace 3. This can be achieved but it isdamn hard to get perfectly shaed and from memory i used abotu 5 prims From: someone And thank you for the info on how to make a smooth necklace...that one had me totally stumped. yw... just yell out if you have issues with anyting else ill help if i can. I do think though that unlike most areas of building which requires more measurements and exactness jewellery and things using tiny prims is a bit of an art in that the placing of the prims is almost always by eye. Because of this it can be EMENSELY frustrating. But soo worthit. By the wy for clothes makers I love seeing little prim details on clothing, for me that often makes or break an outfit. One place i loved had the belt on the jacket layer for that perfect fit, but had a prim belt buckle for the 3D affect. So I would encourage clothing designers to play with prim and tiny prims esp to add that wow factor to your outfits

hmmm apon reading those necklace sclupties need scripts to make them rounded. I dont know why that is cos i know nothing about sculpties, btu i have to say that hugely puts me off. The less scripts i have in items the better. Esp since i spend the majority of my time at a busy club. So i also try to make things that are going to add less lag if possible

Esp since i spend the majority of my time at a busy club. So i also try to make things that are going to add less lag if possible I think what happens is you have to put the script in the item to set it as rounded, then you remove the script. The prim remains rounded, but doesn't contain the script anymore. I'm sure we've all taken a hovering text script out of a prim and the text has remained; this is the same thing.

Teehee! I'm a cammer too. I cam for precision and lining things up. Here's the thing I've run into however. Last night I built a sectional sofa that I'm particularly proud of. Then I was all done, and I pulled the cam back to have a a look at it, nice....then a test sit. LMBO I had made a tiny sectional! Almost too tiny for tinies! I saved it this size and decided to add a tiny section to my modern furni store. Then I stretched it and saved it in the biggie ava size. Voila! Two new store items!

So- who has heard anything about an upcoming new mag called AVENUE MODELS?
I was contacted yesterday about advertising with them- would love some input before I decide. I have names of course, but don't wish to post them.
