From: Amaranthim Talon Well that was sad... the ROPEplaying due to a typo thread just got threatened. "Keep it PG" - I suppose- not saying it is not within the rules so don't anyone jump on me for that ok- but still- it is sad- no one said anything nasty or used "bad" words -
Which I guess begs the question- why are the forums PG? I mean- what's wrong with R? Seriously - if no kids are allowed here anyway- why the PG rule? I would think that since some things here get linked or quoted on sites that can be accessed by the public, LL is trying to keep things very tame. Also, some people are so pc that they look for things to complain about.

There's, uh, probably a lot of things you didn't know about lindens. Another, another interesting, uh, lindenism, uh, there are only three jobs available to a linden. The first is making shoes at night while, you know, while the old cobbler sleeps. You can bake cookies in a tree. But the third job, some call it, uh, "the show" or "the big dance," it's the profession that every linden aspires to.

From: Brenda Connolly They use Traffic Bots, dressed like gambling child avies to get you into the store. From: Macphisto Angelus And all the items inside are copybotted? If so we got a genuine thread goldmine here. And will I find Furry Gor Alts inside said store, that will follow me and spy on me and steal my lindens before or after squiting something on me when I give it permission ? Cuz if so, I have got to get there right away.

From: Keira Wells Slacker! I wonder if it is too late. Now that a warning has been issued it sounds way more fun to post something.

From: Brenda Connolly I'm actually working a summer job this year, in preparation for September when I will voluntarily unemploy myself. I'm looking forward to a month or two off before deciding what I want to do next, job wise. Law school? Just sayin'. You could pull it off. It would suck for a couple years, but you are one of the few people who could pull it off maintain a sense of humor and actually see the joy and hilarity in the job without turning into a complete tool.

Nooooooo thank you. I want to get away from the "Professional " world as much as possible. I'm tired of working for "The Man".

Yeah, come on Brenda. TAO's can be fun. If I'm going to work under an idiotic set of rules, set down by clueless people, I'd continue to work for the State of New Jersey.....at least I'd have more time off.

From: 3Ring Binder [whimpering grief] thank you all for your kindness to me, and understanding about my over-the-top draw to cats and their plights. it's so easy for me to fall in love with a cat. all it takes is a glance in their direction, and my heart fills with meow shaped hairballs. as such, any loss is devastating.
i sincerely hope Tod's Siamese kitten is healthy. and i feel for everyone here who has lost a beloved pet. my heart just sank deeper and deeper as i read each memory. they become our children, convert a house in to a home, and become the vibrant spirit that brings that home to life. and we are lucky to have been gifted even one moment with their presence. [/whimpering grief] Long story here, and not to make anyone sadder, just kind of a comment on how life turns out sometimes. I had a lovely tabby for 15 years. She was always "my" cat and would sleep by my side at night, wait for me to get home, and was just the sweetest thing. She developed kidney disease, and knowing it was only a matter of time until she left me, I was persuaded by a friend to take an Abyssinian kitten. Of course I immediately fell in love with Miss Molly too. She was the most playful thing, and would spend hours playing fetch with a rubber band, never failing to bring it back to me so I could flip it again for her. Both kitties slept with me, and although they never became friends, they tolerated each other. Both were indoor/outdoor cats and Miss Molly became quite the huntress as well, bringing me the most amazing little presents, lol. So, the inevitable drew closer, as I was taking my tabby to the vet more and more often, she lost more and more weight, and ate less and less. Finally, after a week in which she refused to take any food, I decided the time had come to put her down. I took her to the vet, and stayed with her, and she passed peacefully. This was late October, 2001. I was so glad to have Miss Molly, even though I grieved for Desiree, I wasn't as devastated as i would have been had I not had her. Then, the Sunday before Thanksgiving, Miss Molly got out about 9pm. Usually, I would shut her cat door and not let her roam at night, but that night, I wasn't quick enough. I saw her eyeing the door, and went for it, but she beat me. So she didn't come home.... I went out and called at intervals all night. By morning I was frantic, and went looking but couldn't find her. I put up signs, and on Tuesday a neighbor called. She said animal control had picked up a cat hit by a car on Monday morning. And yes, I was able to go and verify that it was my little Miss Molly. So all my planning to lessen the grief I would feel when Desiree died was for naught, and I lost both my beloved cats within a month. The story doesn't end there, though. I had previously agreed to care for Miss Molly's aunt and her litter of 3 kittens so my friend could go away for the holiday. My friend brought them over on Wednesday, and we cried and cried together over Miss Molly. Solace (yes, that was the mama cat's name) and her babies were ensconced in the tub, and my friend took off on her trip. Long story short (well, too late for that) two of those kittens never went home and are my friends and companions now. Brother and sister, ruddy Aby's (although not purebred), they are the friendliest, most gregarious and entertaining cats. The female even plays fetch, although not as consistently as Miss Molly. Isn't it amazing how life turns out sometimes?
