From: Pserendipity Daniels ... praising with faint damns of a collective that I would be proud to be part of. You ARE part of it. From: Pserendipity Daniels My stepfather gave me a plate as a wedding present that he had engraved on, in Egyptian heiroglyphs (he was a silversmith in his spare time, as well as an Egyptian scholar and player of the Northumbrian pipes and . . .) the inscription:
"The secret of a relationship is to disagree without being disagreeable"
... You get major cool point from me for having him as your stepfather. From: Tod69 Talamasca ... My fiancee is nervously awaiting to hear from the vet about her new siamese kitten about the feline leukemia test. Yea- I own a cat, and I'm allergic to cats (as in gasp for breath allergic). But I deal, cuz its MY cat. Hope the tests come out negative. My my husband loves our Siamese cats even though he's allergic to them. They are supposed to be less of a problem for allergies than non-Siamese cats. From: ConductorX Nieuport NEW ORLEANS, LA ... Yesterday a barge carrying 10,000 barrels of fuel oil was struck and cut half by a Liberian tanker ship in the Mississippi river. The resulting spill has closed 100 miles of the river from New Orleans to the mouth of the river. Domestic water supplies on the west bank of the river are currently threatened.
Oh no! From: Pserendipity Daniels Hooray - it's like that Star Trek TNG episode where they go round the same time loop three times and at the end everything comes out perfectly!
Pep (I was getting worried it was my fault somehow . . .) I love that episode!

From: Kaimi Kyomoon Big relief among all the riders at le Tour de France that the big mountains are now behind them. Today's Stage 18 was not flat but still a relatively easy 196.5km or 122 miles. 48km into the race all the early breakaways were caught. Carlos Barredo of the Quick-Step team attacked at 65km. There were counter attacks and at 81km German rider Marcus Burghardt of US team Columbia caught Barredo. The two worked well together stretching their lead on the peleton out to over nine minutes, with a three man chase group about half-way back. But Barredo knew he couldn't beat Burghadt in a straight sprint at the finish so at 10km to go he began attacking, trying to get far enough ahead to win the race. Burghadt stayed right with him every time and tried attacking himself once or twice with no better results. In the end it did come to a sprint between the two with Burghardt taking first place in 4h30'21". The main group of riders, including all the overall contenders came in 6min 50sec. later. There was no change in the general classification. The winner of this year's Tour is expected to be decided at Saturday's individual time trial stage. At the start of the day, after 3,000.5km of racing, in the Tour so far, Damiano Cunego was ranked 14th overall. His deficit to race leader Carlos Sastre was 12'26". Then he crashed at the 28km mark and was on the ground for seven minutes while the race doctor bandaged his chin. Four of his Team Lampre team-mates waited to ride with him but they had lost a lot of time on the fast moving peleton. Cunego's group crossed the finish line 20min. 12 sec. after the winner. He is now in 20th place overall. http://velonews.tv/?articleID=2330 Yay! My first Kaimi sighting this afternoon. *waves at Kaimi* Thanks for today's update. Exciting day!

From: Ghosty Kips God, guys, my apologies. Between the political discussions I have all day as a matter of course for my work, plus a number of lesser things in the forums today that I should have shaken off with nary a care, I'm a little edgy this afternoon. I'm sorry. /me sends you a 1/2 the watermelon wedge I'm eating. Watermelon always makes me feel a lot better

From: Ghosty Kips No no, it's all me, I'm feeling my inner bitch welling up. Sorry about that. Don't sweat it. Amaranthim is a real sweetheart and she's pretty easy going. I'm sure she'll understand. It happens to all of us. I have days where it's just confrontation, more confrontation, ugliness, war and strife all day, then I come home and someone says something totally innocent and I snarl at them because I've been snarling all day and it just happens.
