Hi Everyone!
Today was another long flat stage at Le Tour de France. In fact the longest of the whole tour at 232km or 144 miles. Again there was a three man breakaway right at the beginning of the day. But this time the teams of the sprinters did not let them get too far ahead.

At 10 km to go they were still 35 seconds out in front and my own personal favorite rider, George Hincapie, had some kind of bike failure and had to fall back and wait for the mechanic in the team car.

At 3km to go George had made his way to up to the front of the peleton and was leading the chase to catch the breakaway riders who were still 15 seconds ahead. George was one of the most valuable riders on Lance Armstrong's team every time he won the Tour de France. Today Big George was working to get his current team mate, Mark Cavedish, into position to win a sprint finish.

One member of the breakaway, French national champion Nicolas Vogondy, wasn't caught until the last 200meters when UK rider Cavendish pulled ahead for the victory.

Cavendish's team, Colombia, is based in the U.S. and is at the tour for the very first time.

Great color commentary today! Thanks! :)

Yes...this is to prepare them for having their ass chewed off for no better reason than they happen to be there.

Morning folks! All the tubes are out of pop, as are all the staples...now we work on getting him eating a bit more, and exercising a bit (like walking more than a hundred yards)...

Hope everyone's doing well, along with their families!
(lack of sleep and soreness from physical exertion notwithstanding...'tis why coffee and ibuprofen were invented...food of the gods)

OK, I just spit all over my monitor, after reading your lead-in, Joseph! /laughs

(and ouch, 3Ring!! but very funny picture :D)

You are taking such good care of your dad, Joseph...I know it's second nature to you, but for many, it is not...*hugs and kisses*

3Ring, I wasn't around during your cover letter review, but it looks like you got some good peeps to take a look-see. My fingers are crossed for you, and I like how you are stretching to apply for a position that's a challenge for you! :)

re: my cover letter - i noticed that all my lack of caps in chat-like discussions has bled into RL. i had several sentences using a lower case "i" when referring to myself. BAD!

and apparantly, while i think of myself as quite foolish, i am really quite capable! ;) special thanks to you guys for picking up on that. not cool. not cool at all.

thanks to all who willingly read and advised on my letter. i appreciate it greatly. off it goes to the mail in just a short while.

now back to your regularly scheduled silly nonsense.

It was very well written to start with.

No WAY I'm ever going to catch up, so I just read the last page.

Mari: You can keep the prim count way down if you make the fuselage out of a sculpty. Texture it with the iron bars. Leave plenty of holes/hatches to crawl into and out of. I think the total prim count would be around 8-10 (fins, 3 interior bulkheads, fuselage, mounting stand.) The biggest jobs will be making the sculpt map and the texture for the fuselage, of course.

Hi, everyone. I'm back!

A funny interlude.......

I was down at Cordova sandbox just standing doing nothing very much. I was dressed in my workwear - shorts, sport vest, socks, trainers, a baseball cap and my hair done in a bun.

A short and very fat troll-like woman wearing tight, very short shorts came up to me and said:"You look stupid" !!!!! :D

Evening, threadites.

Asset server's borked again. I just spent ages making and texturing a fireplace, and now I can't take a copy of it.

/me prays the rolling re-start scheduled for today and tomorrow doesn't eat it before I can take a copy :(
