Don't know if Brann has posted it here or not so ........
Friday evening, starting at 4SLT we will be having a combo Forum Farewell/Valentine's bash at the Hangout.

We will have DJ's and the party will go until everyone goes to bed.

Drop in and say hi, curse the Lindens, see Honeybear in some booty shorts.

It will be a blast.

LL wants to close the place down because peptard's a douche?

You have to admit, in this case it would go a ways towards "improving the user experience."

Long time forum reader here.

I will miss the forums, in all their raging chaos and semi-brokenness. Life can be messy like that, and I don't think that's a bad thing.

The new blog/forum format feels sterile and lifeless right now, but I am hopeful it will get better. Life finds a way

Take care folks. See you on the other side.

G'mornin an G'evening folks... here one last time. :-)

I hope everybiggy had a good weekend, mine was a bit mixed, with some RL ups and downs (I am, as I type this on my lappy, recovering data off my compy).

Camp ended on Saturday, with the camp talent show and closing ceremony. I did a sort of ventrioquist act with "Mr. Noob," a sitting noob status who served as my ventriloquist in some sort of reverse voice throwing act.

I won the Camp Artist award, probably because I was lucky enough to get a good piccie that got me the first prize in the camp art show. Oh, an cuz I guess a lotta people know me f'r my piccies.

I posted a couple times this week various piccies from camp. Here's one more -- heading home. It seems somewhat appropriate here, too.

With camp over, an feeling the need to explore a bit after camp, I headed for a couple recent Mole builds to look around. Here's Rodel Island, which I hear will eventually be a seaplane stop!

This is the Leviathan skeleton in Ahab's Haunt. Really quite a cool build.

Be sure to look under the water, too!

An... I guess that's it. I never meant this to become a series like it has, more of a random thing that became something bigger. Its been a blast to share my part of the world with all ya'll f'r all this time. Watch my blog for future weekend wrapups, if you are interested in such. http://marianne.secondlifekid.com/ I'll do them there f'r a bit, an see what the response is to 'em. :-)

Yay! I'm glad you are willing to continue them. I think it's something that a lot of us look forward to each week.

I love the pic of you leaving camp. You have a gift for capturing realistic moments in SL, if that isn't an oxymoron.

Oh, an while I'm thinking of it, another little thing I was involved in lately that got worked up last week while I was at camp (aside from gettin out for a group piccie)

In Bay City last year, we were able to use Hau Koda for events, before it finally became the airport and infohub it is today. As we started to plan for this year's events, we found we had no shortage of ideas, but a shortage of places to host them.

A couple members started to bounce around the idea of a "fairground." Some initially wanted a new region to be added to Bay City but this proved to be unfeasible. We talked about removing or changing some of the land in Daley Bay to accommodate such a thing, but this idea proved somewhat unpopular with those who wanted to maintain the Mole builds already present (as well as Bay City's clean water!). We also talked about using some of the existing parklands, but these are deliberately low prim and proved to be unworkable for some of the ideas we wanted. Then it was discovered that North Channel was a full region.

A special meeting of the Bay City Alliance was held to work out the plan, with me constructing the maquette (3-D map) of the site, and another member working up the written notes. My maquette looked like this:

Construction started last week on the site. Here's a number of the Bay City Alliance members at the construction site, including (L-R) Constantine Kyomoon, Me, Alisha Matlova, BlueGin Yifu, Blondin Linden, Holocluck Henly, and Alx Zeller:

As you can see, Michael Linden had a bit of fun during construction, including having a landfill barge and bucket crane barge on site for building up this island. For fun, here's another shot I grabbed of the crane:

The build - such as it is - is largely done. Not too hard, given the main feature is an empty space for events. We'll put whatever we need to when we do, I suppose, including parade staging for next May's Bay City 2nd Anniversary Parade

All that did't fit in the weekend write up, though, given it happened during the week. Still, hadda share!

Mari

I came back recently, and found a forum in its death throes. It has been...unspeakably unsettling.

I realized, after days of my usual lurking, that I had but one feeling: gratitude. I used to read about a forum "clique." Well, I was warmly welcomed here, by pretty much all of you.

You rock. Thanks.

Hi Spike...yea, they're predicting over a foot for us, including lake effect, in the northern part of the state...but, unlike you, I love it.

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow :D
