I hope everybiggy had a good weekend, mine was a bit mixed, with some RL ups and downs (I am, as I type this on my lappy, recovering data off my compy). Camp ended on Saturday, with the camp talent show and closing ceremony. I did a sort of ventrioquist act with "Mr. Noob," a sitting noob status who served as my ventriloquist in some sort of reverse voice throwing act. I won the Camp Artist award, probably because I was lucky enough to get a good piccie that got me the first prize in the camp art show. Oh, an cuz I guess a lotta people know me f'r my piccies. I posted a couple times this week various piccies from camp. Here's one more -- heading home. It seems somewhat appropriate here, too.  With camp over, an feeling the need to explore a bit after camp, I headed for a couple recent Mole builds to look around. Here's Rodel Island, which I hear will eventually be a seaplane stop!  This is the Leviathan skeleton in Ahab's Haunt. Really quite a cool build.  Be sure to look under the water, too!  An... I guess that's it. I never meant this to become a series like it has, more of a random thing that became something bigger. Its been a blast to share my part of the world with all ya'll f'r all this time. dang it, there is snow scheduled for tomorrow. From: spike Hydraconis Good Morning threadies.... waiting on the impending second snow storm to slam into us tonight and tomorrow unlike the last one this one will have 40mph winds involved with it. makes things so much better (sense the sarcasim) for those that know me, I hate snow. Anyway looking for some coffee this morning and some breakfast...wheres MO!!!! Maureen is buried under snow.

I haven't been saying much here for a bit... I'm a little surprised at how much this closing continues to upset me.
I'm surprised because we already went through the angst and the consequent fighting among ourselves at the end of the summer, when the axe was first raised over the forums. And by now I'm quite at home at SC (for me, it's just "SC" - there isn't any "2" about it). So this OUGHT to be anticlimactic.
Things don't usually get me down, at least not for very long, but I've been having trouble sleeping, been very distracted from my job search... every now and then I write a rant, which I delete before posting... [just deleted another one]
As bad as it is to wish for this to end, I am looking forward to this being over, at least this part of "it". Once we all get moving, I think things will be more promising.

I am too surprised that the closing is affecting me too. I have a certain attachment to this forum that is similiar to when Will and I lost our home this time last year. Some of the best laughs I have during my work day is attributed to this forum. I have learned a lot of things here. Things I don't understand has prompted me to research for a clearer understanding. When I have come here with my own problems, questions or just for plain reassurance, folks here have been there for me. It is sad to see it go. I will miss the quirky, thought provoking and even some of the hell raising threads that goes on here. I visit the SLU and SCII forums but it is not as enjoyable as the one here. Mainly, when I am on I am at work and some of those graphics are either too racy or very slow to upload.  Anyone, knows a way I can turn them off? Thanks. |

There are check boxes for showing avatars, signatures and images. Should be the same for slu.

We will have DJ's and the party will go until everyone goes to bed.

It will be a blast. Yes.....Honeybear has been talking about learning to effectively 'skankshop', so the booty shorts are a distinct possibility.
