oooo I think I'll try that this weekend...I love cinnamon. You can also make them in the oven or one of those toaster ovens. Butter the bread and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar before toasting. As it cooks, the sugar and butter mix and makes a light, crunchy texture. |

I personally wouldn't use it, but for some, it's an ok substitute. Not like it isn't what it says it is - they just charge you a ridiculous amount of money for the luxury of mixing it up for you  _____________________

Forgive the spam, please. I think this is really the key for what happened to IMVU and what is happening right now to SL. Shamelessly stolen from http://www.startuplessonslearned.com/2009/09/cardinal-sin-of-community-management.html This single decision wound up costing the company significant revenue and over the course of several months sent its customer growth into decline. We were totally unprepared for the magnitude of what happened. In the end, we managed to repair the damage, but only after losing a lot of time and at significant opportunity cost. This was one of those catastrophes that shouldn’t have happened. We carefully rolled out the change in stages. We did our best to actively communicate why we were making the change, and we tried to put in place policies that treated affected customers fairly. Yet none of that mattered, because we violated the cardinal rule. We didn’t listen. More accurately, we made our customers feel like we weren’t listening. And until we could make that right, we kept on hemorrhaging business. This does sound familiar. |

The new people who inhabit that boardroom are just like television and mvie executives, or record company execs who Frank Zapp said should be selling shoes, not records. They know nothing about their product, their market, or their real customers. I'm sorry to say if SL failed totally on their watch, a part of me would gloat over it. _____________________

Some of the things that people buy for the sake of "convenience" really cracks me up. I guess growing up in a household where money did not grow on trees and where both Mom & Dad worked, yet we almost always sat down as a family for a home cooked meal from scratch that either Mom or Dad cooked, taught me some useful life lessons. Mom was always the better cook though! _____________________

I guess growing up in a household where money did not grow on trees and where both Mom & Dad worked, yet we almost always sat down as a family for a home cooked meal from scratch that either Mom or Dad cooked, taught me some useful life lessons. Mom was always the better cook though! Yep! I know - I cracked up when I saw that too. We had very little money growing up as well and if my mom were still alive I think she would plotz seeing that. It's such a small jar too - like a container of garlic powder or onion flakes, smaller probably (BTW - both of which I use infrequently as well. Garlic powder has one use for me, to recreate my moms chicken marinade. Onion flakes? I *might* throw them into a matzo brie *if* I'm pressed for time or ran out of onions - God forbid) _____________________

As promised a while ago. Latest picture of Ben - and his leaf.  There was a beagle in a funny hat running around my store last night looking for a bandanna. Know where you're going in life... you may already be there. This one's going to my hard drive. Reminds me a little of the story of a European who opined that Americans sometimes buy a big yacht and work all the time to pay for it, never enjoying it, while Europeans may buy a row boat and take 6 months off on holiday to enjoy it. (Not entirely always true, but food for thought.) . |
