Why doesn't the hangout have a weekly party like SLU does? If we had a standing time every week, that would be pretty neat IMO.

The one at the PMG Cafe is not technically a SLU party, heck the DJ is banned now at SLU. And other banned people have been known to show up, and prominent SLU people have been known to regularly not show up.

It is noted/advertised on SLU (along with many other parties), and it can be said to be a SLU party because so many SLU people turn up there, but it isn't at the SLU hangout (yes, there is an in world SLU hangout).

So, need host and DJ to get weekly party at the hangout. There are some things I've thought of doing, but I can't DJ. I've thought of having a "art of the forum people" type event, and "come as your favorite superhero/book/movie/tv/etc. character" (no prizes, no voting board, just costume party). It is laggy at the hangout, though, for so many people.

By the way, now that I've mentioned it, any forum artists interested in an event? Art of the people who occasionally, every once in a while, post on the forum.

What if we had a time set up for a regular party, but rotating hosts? The host for the week would set the theme and bring in their own entertainment, and just coordinate it with the Cartel Junta?

I would love to do that. We seem to have a lot of aspiring DJ's in the group and I know many as well and I'm sure others do as well.

I think it would be great to have a regular party at the Cartel hangout, though time zones are always rough to coordinate - alternating weeks at US/Europe times is a nice solution but logistically more difficult.

I'd also be delighted to DJ from time to time. :)

The original idea was for a sort of rotating party thing. The first few events were hosted by me and a few others, mostly in the USA Time Zones, and our European freinds had trouble attending. They were encouraged to host gatherings during their time slots as well, but very few took the opportunity to do so. We wanted to avoid the constant "Official" planned events in favor of spontaneous, member driven ones, trying to get as diverse a range of activity as possible.

*nods* I understand that, Brenda - though lots of people would like to see more events happen, fewer want to take on the burden of organizing or hosting.

That's not meant as a criticism; I know as well as anyone what a pain in the ass organizing and hosting events is - and because I already carry that burden for my own place, I am one of those people who would like to see more Cartel events but hesitates to volunteer to organize them.

I feel the same way. In theory I would love to plan an event and host one, but the more I think of it the more I hesitate.:/

Is anyone having trouble saving pics to their HD? All of a sudden, every time I try, I crash out. I'm using the 1.19 Cool Viewer, which I've used for ages now, and I haven't changed anything, but can't save pictures. Think of teh vanity pics!!!!

My system (in SL) freezes whenever I try to save to my HD using the "cntrl~" option. It's very frustrating. :(

It seems to have been just a glitch. I did a reboot and it's working fine now. Too bad..I wasn't able to take any pics of today's kidnapping.
