The one at the PMG Cafe is not technically a SLU party, heck the DJ is banned now at SLU. It is noted/advertised on SLU (along with many other parties), and it can be said to be a SLU party because so many SLU people turn up there, but it isn't at the SLU hangout (yes, there is an in world SLU hangout). So, need host and DJ to get weekly party at the hangout. There are some things I've thought of doing, but I can't DJ. I've thought of having a "art of the forum people" type event, and "come as your favorite superhero/book/movie/tv/etc. character" (no prizes, no voting board, just costume party). The first few events were hosted by me and a few others, mostly in the USA Time Zones, and our European freinds had trouble attending. They were encouraged to host gatherings during their time slots as well, but very few took the opportunity to do so. We wanted to avoid the constant "Official" planned events in favor of spontaneous, member driven ones, trying to get as diverse a range of activity as possible.

*nods* I understand that, Brenda - though lots of people would like to see more events happen, fewer want to take on the burden of organizing or hosting.
That's not meant as a criticism; I know as well as anyone what a pain in the ass organizing and hosting events is - and because I already carry that burden for my own place, I am one of those people who would like to see more Cartel events but hesitates to volunteer to organize them.
