Look into renting the tier from Elanthius Flagstaff -- I rent all of my 8192 tier over my 512 now cuz it is cheaper than paying LL tier and he has been around forever.

I wish his rates were cheap enough so I could rent a sim worth of tier from him rather than LL *sighs*

One thing to be aware of is that according to Elanthius himself over on SLU he is considering phasing out the tier rentals and significantly lowering his mainland holdings.

I went into the rental with him quitting it always being a possibility. I've pretty much never owned more land than I was willing to pay full tier to LL on if I had to.

I think you have to really if your are smart, I must admit I never thought Elanthius would ever stop the tier rental though. I am in the other position, I pay LL for 65K sqm worth of tier and am using all but 13K sqm of it. The 13K sqm I don't use I rent to Elanthius - I am going to miss that chunk of return change every week.
I have looked at my numbers and run them differently with different options many times and believe me no matter how I run the numbers, the way I have my tier level set is the cheapest possible unless I want to create 128 premium alts. I seem to be in a tier blackhole at my usage level.

Really though, I just wanted to point out that beyond 8192sqm Elanthius's rate is not cheaper than LL's rate, probably deliberately.

I wondered about that, but had only done all the calcs up to the 8192 point since that is as much as I have owned so far.

I had also calculated, way back, that at least for 8192 and smaller, it was cheaper to add another premium acct rather than increase tier. Someone else had commented at the time that the calcs held true up to either a half sim or roughly a full sim, but at that point, even if premiums were cheaper, it was just too many to bother with.

I am glad that I just never got to ever needing that much land. Hopefully, even though I am learning to build things, I can still keep the amount of land at the level I am at or not much more.

This one just kept drawing me back. Finally figured out that I just love the lighting on those jeans -- gives them a jeweled look.

Thanks I think that is using the 1960s setting on the Time Machine photo effect in Paint Shop. I forget about those settings most of the time.

I'm at least three days behind on the thread so it's doubtful that I'll ever catch up. I hope I didn't miss anything important and that everyone is doing well.

Now, I'm facing 4 very busy days at work and flying off on Friday for a 10 day vacation .

We will be staying in Park City Utah, so if anyone has any good ideas on things to see or do in Utah, I'd love to add them to my list.

I wonder if anyone would if I uploaded some pics of CX and Allegria's pool party tonight.

This is as close to creativity as some poor souls are able to get. A long time ago I woke up one morning to find that every single car parked along a 5 block stretch of the neighborhood where I was living had had it's windows smashed. Except mine. I'm pretty sure it was because my car at the time looked so pathetic that even window smashing hooligans felt sorry for me. (It actually drove a lot better than it looked.)

I haven't seen it yet but I've read some very good reviews. I still remember him in "Pope of Greenwhich Village".

The 164km 21st and last stage of the 2009 Tour de France today was typical of last day stages. It started with a leisurely ride from the small town of Montereau-Fault-Yonne to the southeast of Paris. The riders joked, mugged for the cameras and Astana, team of this year's Tour winner Alberto Contador, even sipped a tiny bit of champaign from plastic flutes. It was too late to change the overall standings, and attacking in this part of the race would be frowned upon.

Whole other story when they hit the streets of Paris. Once the laps up and down the Champs-Élysées began there was an immediate attack. It's the last chance to win a stage.

The teams of Contador and other men placed high in the general classification rode only to keep their men safe.

The teams of the sprinters rode to get their men into position to win the day. Mark Cavendish's Team Columbia did most of the work to reel in the breakaway – but not too soon or they'd be chasing down newer fresher attackers.

Once the members of the breakaway were caught USA sprinter Tyler Farrar's team moved to the front and for a few minutes it looked as if they might finally succeed in getting a victory for their man.

But no, once again the Columbia team did the lead out for Cavendish perfectly. So perfectly that the last man in the train - Australian Mark Renshaw, said to be the best lead out man in the business - had enough energy left after launching Cavendish to get 2nd place for himself.

By the way the first man in Cavendish's lead out team is George Hincapie who has been riding with a a suspected broken collar bone for the last 4 days – he refused to get it x-rayed as he didn't want to be disqualified from continuing to the end.
