Princess/Prince contest?
07-27-2009 09:47
Hey! New topic: Chris was mentioning in another thread that sometimes he lets his 4-yr old cutie watch SL from his lap, and she likes the 'princesses' in their gowns, and always picks the prettiest one to be her.

We could hold a modeling show, princesses and princes, for her! I happen to have a simple runway, no lighting or anything, just an elevated runway with a walk for men (OK, the cutie doesn't want to look at princes, but let the rest of us feast our eyes on Skell!) and a walk for women. Anybody up for it?

She could pick the winner! Who will, of course, win a tiara!

Chris, would you and she like this? Or, too difficult to schedule?

We could do it at the Hangout, or if that doesn't have a big enough flat space with camera room, we'd be happy to do it at the Lazy C, either indoors or outdoors.

Edit: we'd have to be sensitive to the attention span of a 4-year old, which would limit the number of contestants. But, the time of day might do so automatically.

G'mornin, thread! Hope all had a super weekend!

After all the fun of camp, it was time to have a weekend that was a lot lower impact and involved a lot of time out in First Life. so I don't have a of of photos of the weekend. :-(

The big project was a move of my Bay City store to a new parcel. I take moves very literally, as you know.

This is the store in its new home, as well as it's neighbors in Imaginario, Falcon, and even a bit of Argos in this shot. Yay for RenderFarClip and RenderUseFarClip in the debug settings!

I did get the chance to visit DILemma Island and see the Frank Lloyd Wright Museum. I so want those houses, but in First Life. Here's the inworld version of "Falling Water:"

One little project I did work on this weekend was a billboard. It sits next to the parking lot on my Bay City property (someone wanted a parking lot while out shopping? OK!). My Brother Pygar lent a hand on sculpts, I did all the texturing, including a lot of period-like billboards "advertising" my stuff and/or Linden places. The billboard also gives a selection of LMs to places far and wide. One of my little parts to encourage exploration, given the proximity of the Bay City Infohub.

Oh, and of course there were fireworks on Saturday, which had a sizable crowd an all. Lotsa folks came by to celebrate my (belated) birthday. As sometimes happens, a dance party broke out at the end.

An that's about it!

She loved the "Gypsies in the Palace" dance we had a couple months ago. And yes there have to be princes. She was upset that some of the Princesses didn't have Princes to dance with. I think that night she decided she liked Honeybear's red dress best of all.

We will see. Let me think about it.

Edit: About the "princes" She got in trouble at preschool this past spring. Some of the little girls and boys were playing "Sleeping Beauty" and the boys were kissing the girls. She was very upset, not at getting in trouble, but because the teacher stopped them before it was her turn to get kissed again.

Like father, like daughter ;)

Well, Cee has an extra "prince" or two, and I even have a not-too-good-looking prince! Maybe Crazod or Bodhi could come as a frog prince. (Enkythings has a dollarbie crown, perfect for a frog prince!)
