But the spam link is *there*, Amara. It's one more hit for Google to turn up when someone searches for 'patio furniture'. If that person spams 1000 blogs with that exact link and text, it's effectively a Googlebomb, and will rank their website higher for that search term. ;)

She should be able to delete it, and maybe prevent others like it. I'm not familiar with Blogger (I use Wordpress) but there's usually a spam filter plugin like Askimet that can be activated, which will catch the obvious spam. Then there may be other settings which mean the first couple of comments any user makes have to be approved by the blog author, after which (as a trusted commenter) that person can comment without approval. Those are some of Wordpress's features; I can't say what Blogger has :-/

One person made a comment I had not heard put forth in one of these discussions before.

He said "I would wear brand-new socks every day". This idea really appealed to me.
