/me puts "I have lost my comb; can anyone suggest where it might be?" on his list of potential Friday Thread questions for when things are slow in the Forums. :p

Pep (Just as important as "I have lost my keys". )

There are many days that finding the comb is much more important than the keys
:p

It was a response to reading more of the on-going exchange of love letters between two of our residents.

To me it sounded like "I know you are, but what am i?" So I just did what i do when m kid is acting like a two year old...

I stuck my fingers in my ears and sd "La a La La La" - I am sooo mature ;)

*whimpers* I was playing translate game. Using a translator to randomly pick languages for the phrase to be translated through then through next language, etc. Until back to English. (i.e, the above English from Maureen to Albanian then Albanian into Arabic, etc., then into English again).

After all that work, it became, in english:
"Exactly. I want to live my life peacefully, without a photographer"

Stupid Google translate!! You are supposed to make me laugh!!

Well, earlier I did do this with
The monkey is tastefully prepared. I will now eat the monkey for lunch.
it became
I was ready to play with the boys. We lunch in the primate

I gave up on computer translation when it converted the saying "Out of sight, out of mind" into "Invisible idiot".

Pep (You can see what it did. )

Important safety note in SL:

Make sure the sections of your house are "locked" before attempting to "take" boxes lying on the floor back into one's inventory. :o
From: Rioko Bamaisin
haha. One time I was trying to find a lost prim in the walls of one of my tenants skyboxes for him. I found it but grabbed the skybox instead and hit return. Oops.:D He fell to his SLdeath. It was kind of funny.
From: Damien1 Thorne
I retextured one section of the castle while trying to apply the texture to a small item laying on the floor. :o

I stopped counting the number of times that I deleted part of my house or retextured a piece I did not intend to. When people give me mod privs on their objects for some reason, I always tell them to take them away after we are done with whatever the reason was. Mnay times I moved pieces of Leon's castle and not too long ago, I deleted a piece of one of Dances builds.

Did I do good at acting like a two year old by copying 3Ring then? ;)

Pep (I thought the standard of English was at least that of a six year old actually. )

I still chuckle about one of my very first times at the Hangout when the floor texture got changed to a picture of a shoe someone was designing. Or rather, a texture containing countless copies of the shoe. :D

that's cool, Brenda. what do you need the background people to be doing, wearing, etc?

I really wasn't thinking of background people actually, but I guess the look is Paramilitary semi fetish.

For me this is a simple question, but other people will feel different than I.

Would you rather be a famous singer where everyone knows who you are or a famous writer where people only know your name?

I pick writer. I actually used to write long ago. I should take it up again. It would be good mental exersize. I am so rusty though, and it is a skill that degenerates.

As to comments about grammer, spelling, and all the other mechanics of writing; I shudder to think how boring literature would become if it was all done in sterile perfect style. I believe writing should come from a variety of experiences. All I care about is if you can get your point across effectively.

I am generally not a good fiction writer, but there have been some collaborative efforts in sl that have turned out rather well. :p

Hi all, just a note to let you know I'm still alive (but very sad).

I was out of town visiting my sister for a week. Then when I got home, I had to have my cat euthanized. :(

Feeling heartbroken and lonesome whenever I come home and she isn't here.

If you are writing for the great unwashed then grammer (sic) etc is probably not so important an element in the exersize (sic). In fact, words probably aren't either. Hell, why not go the whole hog and just draw pictures.

Pep (If you are writing for the benefit of literate people then these things do matter.)
