A fellow walks into a bar, notices a very large jar on the counter, and sees that it's filled to the brim with $10 bills. He guesses there must be more than ten thousand dollars in it.
He approaches the bartender and asks, 'What's with the money in the jar?' 'Well......you pay $10 and if you pass three tests, you get all the money and the keys to a brand new Lexus.'

The man certainly isn't going to pass this up. And so he asks, 'What are the three tests?'

'You must pay first..... Those are the rules,' says the bartender.

So, after thinking it over a while, the man gives the bartender the $10 and the bartender drops it into the jar.

'Okay,' the bartender says, 'Here's what you need to do:

First - You have to drink a whole quart of tequila, in a minute or less, and you can't make a face while doing it.

Second - There's a pit bull chained in the back with a bad tooth. You have to remove that tooth with your bare hands.

Third - There's a 90-year old lady upstairs
who has never had sex.... You have to take care of that problem!'

The man is stunned. 'I know I paid my $10, but I'm not an idiot! I won't do it! You'd have to be nuts to drink a quart of tequila, and then do all those other things...'

'Your call,' says the bartender..... 'But, your money stays where it is.'

As time goes on, and the man has a few more drinks, he finally says, 'Where's the damn tequila?'

He grabs the bottle with both hands and drinks it as fast as he can. Tears stream down both cheeks... but he doesn't make a face, and he did it in fifty-eight seconds!

Next, he staggers out the back door, where he sees the pit bull chained to a pole. Soon the people inside the bar hear growling , biting, and screaming sounds... then nothing but silence!

Just when they think that the man surely must be dead, he staggers back into the bar, with his shirt ripped open and there are scratches and he's bleeding all over his body.

He says, 'Now where's that old woman with the bad tooth?

==========================================

The moral to the story:

Listen carefully to the directions, and don't
trust your judgment when alcohol is involved!

What have I been doing recently?

I decided that the old Egotherapy Club, which was permanently suspended below my sky platform, was a waste of prims as it doesn't get used much. So, after carefully saving a copy, I dismantled it.

In its place I have built a portable open-air club that can be rezzed on the sky platform when needed. This can also be set up at other locations if necessary. I'm hoping to use the new club for CD3R (Conifer Dada's third rez-day) in September!!!

Later, I was at a club where they allow members of the ordinary public to go on the dance poles, complete with tip jars, if they join the group first. I'm not new to silent pole dancing but I decided it would be quite fun to give one of those rather corny sexy commentaries that dancers like to do. It was quite fun! I even got a tip!

Wow, what a wonderful day I had yesterday. It was interesting to see everyone's different styles and/or dreams put into their builds. Each place was exceptional in its own way. Josh, you came up with a wonderful idea, thanks for taking the time and effort in putting it all together.
I took LOTS of pics, over 200, lol. But I weeded them down to something manageable and will post them to the forum cartel pool as soon as I'm done with this reply.

Jackie - Loved the view, absolutely breathtaking, the flamingo was quite adorable below too.
Carter - Quite an exceptional hangout you have there...the garden was absolutely serene with the sunbeams.
Gabriele - OMG, I had the most fun at your place, trying everything out, lol. You did a great job. btw, loved your shower door.
Josh - Your treehouse was too much, very cool. Loved the pool with Jaws included and the doghouse with its own garden lights made me lol.
Seven - Thanks for the parachute, it came in handy on the way down. Beautiful view and loved the bedroom. You're doing a great job on the skybox, too.
Brenda - Checked out the Huey, it's great!!!
Blot - You have the most awesome coastline, must be enjoyable to look at each day. The steps had me huffing & puffing for a while, but a beautiful build.
Soen - Wow, what can I say? I can tell the amount of time and effort you have put into the build...it is just wonderful...enjoyed the little touches of authenticity you added.
Weston - Loved your geek pad...very, very comfortable. As you can probably tell from the pics, I made myself at home, lol. The choice of water outside with the treats was a cute touch. Your artwork is amazing, must be satisfying to see it up and in view.
LeeLee - WOW, absolutely stunning. LOVED the dining room, lol. All I can say is beautiful, just beautiful and grand.
Nic - I love your weird garden, lol. Made me feel young at heart again. Got a little sick on the merry-go-round, but all-in-all, great fun. I loved your cat painting.
Lelia - Your house is beatifully furnished, I most enjoyed your lovely bedroom and the artwork. As I said in the pic...super, super cute nursery...really adorable.
Rock - The Egyption theme is spectacular. Great build and textures. You did a wonderful job with the place.
Litta & Cee - Magnificent place...You two must feel so lucky to have all that beauty about. Really felt like a working ranch.
Whimsy - It looks like something out of a fairy tale. Absolutely magical. I had so much fun, thanks for opening it up to us.
Ghosty & Elora - Sorry for my being 'busy' for so long, I was called into RL for quite a while:( It was lovely meeting Ghosty for the first time and see Elora again. Ghosty, your garden, sculptures, artwork are one of a kind. I saw a few things I liked. You are a very talented individual. Loved the entrance I made, lol.
Allegria & CX - Your home is lovely...LOVED the aquarium, quite the focal point. Took a stroll through your gardens, enjoyed the slide and toured Bourbon Street. Met Allegria for the first time--thank you for being so gracious.
Victor - Your time station is so cool, especially the monkish type characters...very neat. Loved being transmatted too.
Sarkany - It must be fun living in a castle and having all your subjects below. Wonderful view up there. Salem was so sweet, lol.
Bodhi - Your gardens were serene also. Beautiful place with the gated walls...I liked how you documented the build through the time spans and the pics of how it changed...nice. Was quite amused when I was meditating, the two visitors I received, lol. Check out the pics.
Melita - Groovy place...I loved it!!! Wonderful colors all around and the view from your front porch is TDF. Really pleasant sim.
Amara - Your place is so cool...I absolutely felt so decadent laying on that one lounger, lol.

Don't forget to check out the pics at www.flickr.com/groups/forumcartel

Happy Sunday/Monday everyone. I'm sorry I missed the tour. Wasn't feeling my chipper self most of the day yesterday and decided to be mostly anti social all day. Would have loved to see everyone's houses. I didn't realize the tour was an all day pop in event or I would have opened up my home as well.(Homestead-can only hold 20)

Anyway,

/me glares at Pep sternly

/me waits for Maureen to come back with coffee

And obligatory attention whore vanity pic to give Pep something to complain about.

Have a good day threadies.

Thanks so much for posting pics of this. I am sorry I missed it and definitely hope we do it again. I have the notecard with the LMs so I'll plan some visits.

@Josh - thanks for putting in the time to set this up.

Maybe the building of my house and the landscaping will finally be finished when we do this again.

Happy Sunday/Monday everyone. I'm sorry I missed the tour.
We'll be leaving our property open all day today, and I know that several others will as well - in fact, in the threads about it some people said 'drop by any time', as in any day. We have security that we usually turn on, but we'll leave it off today.

I had a blast seeing people's places. Lots of beauty (don't miss Soen's Japanese mansion!), some silliness (don't miss Nic Writer's place, particularly if you like having all eyes on you!), and lot of ideas to take away for future builds.

The home tour was pretty cool. I liked all the houses - was amazed at how elaborate Josh's is, how big and open Allegria's is, and how wintery Ashe's is. (just to pick a few)

I wish I'd had more time in the day to hang around and meet people, but maybe it was easier to poke around without me jabbering. I *did* get to meet Brenda and Allegria for the first time, as well as our new neighbor Ari.

Thanks again, Josh, for organizing it. I didn't realize how tense I was about it until it was over!

I only made it as far as Soen's home...I had a wonderful time. Josh, thank you so much for organizing the tour, and thank you to everyone who opened up their homes to the hordes.

Fair warning...I might give people a jingle today to see if it's OK to stop by the homes I missed yesterday....

I so wish I had time to go and visit everyone's home! This tour is such a lovely idea. You are all welcome to go and look at my place any time, if you don't mind looking it up in my picks. It's called Seagull Terrace. It's a tiny place and I'm not claiming it's worth your effort. But you can sit on my couch and watch the sunset...

LOL, we wondered what happened to you, but figured RL must have taken you away :)

It was great seeing you too, and I'm stunned you never met Ghosty before. Have you ever been to his gallery? That's where the photography is housed, he doesn't have the prims on that land plus, wanted to keep the garden as a relaxation area, not for commercial reasons. As you must have noticed, those sculptures were not for sale.

BTW, we particularly liked your "snowy" home. Both of us have a hankering for a winter environment in SL, and that just really made it more apparent for us.

As for other homes on the tour...OMG everything was quite wonderful. I have some pix on my Flickr, but for the most part we were so busy having fun at everyones homes that both of us didn't think to take too many photos (let alone by the time we got out ourselves, it was pretty late in the evening our time). Special moments: dancing at CX and Ally's place, trying to escape the tornado at Josh's, using all of Nic's playground equipment, getting stoned at Carter's (thanks for leaving that out!), "assuming the position" at Ghosty's feet at Amara's (haha, that's NEVER happened before, I think he enjoyed that a bit too much :p ), the tranquility of Bodhi's home, swinging at Melitta's...the list goes on. Just a really great fun evening all around.

Oh and BTW - Ghosty and I had been to Soen's before, had a private tour one evening along with a couple of other people. His place is one of those special homes which truly should not be missed. GO.

And Leelee's? The most opulant home I've ever seen in SL to date. Wonderous. I need to go back and explore the beach area.

Special thanks to Weston, who was amazingly gracious. We sat with him for quite a bit; Lindal and Cyndi were there as well.

Oh and we found Carter's secret skybox hehe ;) But, we didn't do anything naughty, I promise! She made sure all poseballs were safetly tucked in her inventory :p

Wow, Ashe1, what great pics of the tour you put up on the Cartel flickr site! I'm going to try to make time to stop by a couple of the places you visited - stunning! Thank you so much for stopping by our place and for the nice comments ...

(p.s. we've been concentrating on our Seraglio in the sky lately, but for those who want the full ranch experience, a hint: if you snuggle on the hay at the corner of the bumper car barn, you get the full ranch soundscape - you can hear all the animules from there!

Finding that it is just too espensive (travel, and hotel are the expensive parts) to actually see real shows (like The 39 steps and Blithe Spirit), in NYC, I'm forced to look at Washington DC area entertainment.

So far I see nothing. Though if I wish to hear people singing about politics, there's Capitol Steps (here's one where they sing about Obama: http://www.capsteps.com/sounds/obama-mia2.mp3 ). "Load to the Erection". "lick the peter". heh. ( http://www.capsteps.com/sounds/lirty-election2008.mp3 ) Damn Yankees in Baltimore.

That's basically it. So . . . my vacation looks like I'll be sitting around at home. heh. I was thinking of looking at all those brown sign areas nearish me. The historical significant thingies. Can't seem to find a website that mentions them, though.

In baseball I can see a rookie level team in Ripken Stadium. Ah, finally figured out what "Washington Kastles" is about. Tennis. $65 to watch tennis. And that's that in sports during my vacation days. Rookie level baseball, tennis. Back to looking for brown signs, I see.

Lexxi, don't they have any of those Broadway Bus trips? They are usually relatively inexpensive.
