I won't go near margarine, and rarely use butter in cooking, preferring EVOO. I use butter on my popcorn, maybe a baked potato and when I make mashed poatoes: butter, whole milk and lots of garlic. And Lactaid.

We need a new tawpic to discuss... Butter vs margarine? I was raised on margarine, didn't realize what I was missing til recently. I can never go back. I was raised on margarine as well, and whenever we would go to visit my grandparents in Western Massachusets, we were "forced" to have butter. Oh, what a penance we thought we had to suffer.... At some point, I finally realized what I was missing. Yummmmm...butter.... Nowadays... I use butter for baking and some cooking. Now for popcorn at home...I will admit I use "I Can't Believe It's Not Butter" spray... |

I also don't like pancakes brown, I like them pale, and a little undercooked in the middle is fine by me. They have flavour, it is good, and people should stop burning their darn pancakes. _____________________
