As far as tofu had plenty in my day even tried making mine from scratch once. Wont share what that looked like.

I used to grill mine on a little George Foreman or fry it in sesame oil, but I prefer my bacon any day.

I like your response CX- but honestly- I know this is weird especially for an avowed carnivore- but I rather enjoy tofu in my miso.

Re the arks- great pic - but if you guys want to hang on to Mr. Nagan... paint them school bus yellow? Sorry - but honestly- trust me in Miami we have our share of banana republic politics and our politicians (well don't they all?)- leave much to be desired. :)

Mr. Nagan started out with such promise. The hurricane brought out his true colors. Unfortunately I only work in the city, I am not allow to elect the officials. Luckily he is on his second term and he will be gone soon.

If you want to see great leadership, look to Bobby Jindal our Governor. :)

Jug O Punch is still one of my faves of all time.

That's a great song too. But my favorite is "Johnson's Motor Car"

It was down by Brannigan's corner one morning I did stray
I met a fellow rebel and to me he did say
We have orders from our Captain to assemble at Dunbar
But how are we to get there without a motor car

Oh Barney dear be of good cheer I'll tell you what we'll do
The Specials they are plentiful but the I.R.A. are few
We'll send a wire to Johnson to meet us at Stranlar
And we'll give the boys a jolly good drive in Johnson's Motor Car

When Doctor Johnson heard the news he soon put on his shoes
He said this is an urgent case, there is not time to lose
He then put on his castor hat and on his breast a star
You could hear the din going through Glen Fin of Johnson's Motor Car

But when he got to the Railway Bridge, the rebels he saw there
Ould Johnson knew the game was up for at him they did stare
He said I have a permit to travel near and far
To hell with your English permit, we want you motor car

What will my loyal brethren think when they hear the news
My car it has been commandeered by the rebels at Dunluce
We'll give you a receipt for it, all signed by Captain Barr
And when Ireland gets her freedom, boy, you'll get your motor car!

Well they put that car in motion and they filled it to the brim
With guns and bayonets shining, which made ould Johnson grim
Then Barney hoisted the Sinn Fein flag and it fluttered like a star
And we gave three cheers for the I.R.A. and Johnson's motor car

While finding more posts to delete I came across another interesting thread, dated almost exactly 1 year ago, discussing what SL would be like in 6 months. Since it isn't locked here is the link. Worth reading.
You know, Desmond (in post #19 of that thread) was right on a lot of things - spooky.

Nice to see the good old songs posted.
My grandmother used to sing to me all the time My Wild Irish Rose.
Here is a little biddy of a fav, Finnegan's Wake. Always a good time when you get an entire pub singing it together. :)

Mickey Maloney ducked his head
when a bucket of whiskey flew at him
It missed, and falling on the bed,
the liquor scattered over Tim
Now the spirits new life gave the corpse, my joy!
Tim jumped like a Trojan from the bed
Cryin will ye walup each girl and boy,
t'underin' Jaysus, do ye think I'm dead?"

This one of my favorite songs along these same lines:

The Scotsman

Well a Scotsman clad in kilt left a bar on evening fair
And one could tell by how we walked that he drunk more than his share
He fumbled round until he could no longer keep his feet
Then he stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
He stumbled off into the grass to sleep beside the street

About that time two young and lovely girls just happend by
And one says to the other with a twinkle in her eye
See yon sleeping Scotsman so strong and handsome built
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
I wonder if it's true what they don't wear beneath the kilt

They crept up on that sleeping Scotsman quiet as could be
Lifted up his kilt about an inch so they could see
And there behold, for them to see, beneath his Scottish skirt
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Was nothing more than God had graced him with upon his birth

They marveled for a moment, then one said we must be gone
Let's leave a present for our friend, before we move along
As a gift they left a blue silk ribbon, tied into a bow
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
Around the bonnie star, the Scots kilt did lift and show

Now the Scotsman woke to nature's call and stumbled towards a tree
Behind a bush, he lift his kilt and gawks at what he sees
And in a startled voice he says to what's before his eyes.
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize
Ring ding diddle diddle I de oh ring di diddly I oh
O lad I don't know where you been but I see you won first prize

This one of my favorite songs along these same lines:

The Scotsman

Oh, that has always been one of my favorite tunes...:)

Another one:

SIDE BY SIDE
We got married on Sunday,
The party didn't finish till Monday,
And when the guests had gone home,
We were all alone, Side by side.

Well, we got ready for bed then,
And I very nearly dropped dead when,
Her teeth and her hair, she placed on the chair,
Side by side.

Well the shock did very near kill me,
When a glass eye did fall,
Then her leg and then her arm,
She placed against the chair by the wall, Side by side.

Well this left me broken hearted,
For most of my wife had departed,
So I slept on the chair,
There was more of her there,
Side by Side.

RE Tofu:

None for me thanks. Besides the unpleasant texture and bland flavorlessness, the word "Tofu" sounds like something you'd find in a dirty sock.

At first I intended this to be the XPOD. I decided against that, and instead just post it for amusement and/or discussion .

FWIW.. is not "Steampunk" a term which originated in SL and is now moving into FL?
