Does your father know you are sitting at his desk while he is in Washington?

Yes, and it's important to get a grip on it before it becomes a major one. But...I'm going to publicly admit something I don't normally, so that you deeply understand what I'm saying.

I was addicted to methamphetimine for 5 years. Never hit "bottom" thank God, but it definitely made a mess of my life for quite awhile. One day, I'd had enough of the mess and walked away from it and I've been clean since 1995.

Key...here's the important part....I'm not sure I could walk away from SL at this point. I've made countless friends and careers and I *love* my SL more than I'd have ever thought possible....and I'm not quite 2 years in. I get positively antsy if I'm not connected in some way. I even bought a Blackberry, so that I stay connected.

If I had known when I was a few months old just how deeply addictive it was...I may have given it some very serious consideration.

Hope you all will still respect me after these admissions :(

(((Hugs Honey))) You go girl. I also have an addictive personality and it wasn't hard to addict to SL. I am nervous and anxious and worry about what's going on inworld if I can't log in in (what I perceive as) a reasonable time. Getting through the workday is bad enough, but it's a good thing I don't have access to go inworld from work. I don't have the discipline to stay away. I am concerned about going on vacation. I plan to attend a deaf convention in another state in August for a week. I do this every year, but this time last year I wasn't so involved or committed to SL. I know I'll be planning workshops, presentations, meals and social time around my SL time on my laptop which I wouldn't dream of travelling without. The president of the non profit board I am on asked me to sit on a Nokia panel for a seminar tomorrow inworld; I had to say no because I'm feeling overwhelmed and burned out some. My house needs cleaning. RL house, not SL house, lol. That one is spotless. I need to do laundry. I need to reconnect to RL. it was hard saying no but I did. Then again, today is Friday. I can sleep in tomorrow so will be inworld til all hours tonite. Yikes, it's a never ending cycle. Addiction......

Hugs back at ya, fellow addict :)

I found that if you put your computer in a small confined space, you don't have to see the mess in the house until you get that phone call saying company is coming, and then you just scramble ;)

 You get a phone call?

All I get is the car door slamming in my driveway.

Spill!!

(it's only when you're "dissing" someone that LL takes exception.)

Great! Well, first I visited Marcus Flatley's new store, Paradise Lost. I loved it! The plants and trees are wonderful and carefully made, very realistic. The sim is sweet with little bridges over a stream. I have some vacant land parcels for sale on my sim and wanted to 'pretty them up' some with some new plants while they are waiting to be bought. I found just what I needed there. All the items are the same price and they are copy!!! So that is one place. Marcus advertised his new store in the Forum Cartel group yesterday and I bopped over, it was well worth it.

Then, I was trying to go to 'Tastefully Erotic'. Found out it was gone. Was about to leave, when I suddenly noticed what had replaced it! An amazing, beautiful place called 'Hudson's Stained Glass Antique Furniture'. There was a stunning gazebo outside with an awesome stained glass top that I fell in love with on the spot. The wood it's made of is like polished, old mahogany and the stained glass top is nothing short of amazing. Expensive, it was $L700. I ended up buying it, I just had to have it. Then I started looking around the area of the store there, it's huge with wonderful indoor and outdoor furniture. Then met the owners, Candace Hudson and her partner XLR. They are so cool. They showed my friend and I 'The Tomb' which is a gigantic, eerie, cemetarial (is that a word, Pep?) place under the sim, that they are making into a maze/treasure hunt kind of place. I was there for nearly 2 hours just messing around and chatting with them. Please check it out, it is well worth the time.

*hugs Honey* I'm glad you got that all sorted out. Wouldn't be the same without you in my life.

I have never been addicted to drugs or anything like that. But damn do I get caught up in things.(SL, WOW etc...) Right now I am just plain addicted to my damn computer, not any specific game.:o Stupid thing. :p

My kids are crazy and hard to deal with some days.(Love them anyway,:p ) My ex is a total asshole and I only have only a few friends in RL who are often busy with addictions of their own lol. I have incredible anxiety issues,so really don't like to go outside much.(People scare meeeee). Plus the fact my kids are mentally disabled and it is a chore for us to go anywhere. So I guess I escape a lot to my computer. Which I probably shouldn't do. I just have nothing else to really do to "get away from it all" so to speak. I should pick up knitting or something.:p

Since Stephen King has abused the word and significantly profited by it I wouldn't dream of commenting.

Pep (I understood - and you didn't do it intentionally, and this *is* The Thread, and it's 5 oclock Friday where I am, so you can spell it sematareal if you like!)

PS If we are owning up, I am addicted to words . . .

Well, part of the problem with being addicted to SL, is it's hard to encourage my friends to give up *their* SL addiction :D But I'd miss you terribly, you've become very dear to me over the past year. Knitting is boring and too solitary anyway ;)

Had to cut your smilies because I received this message:
