Since no-one else was getting breakfast (because you are all having a lie in and not going to work in the USA today?) I got in the queue at the diner to buy a take out, but these two were in front of me . . .

and there was nothing left by the time they ordered so I went to the gallery next door and got this

and this to take away

*yawns and blinks her eyes*

ahhh...a federal holiday...I slept in! (of course, I was in SL until *coughs* 3 am, so...)

@ Mari...your Weekend Update never fails to bring a huge smile to my face. Thank you. And as for giving yourself a rez day party,*blush* I'm doing that very thing this weekend. Saturday, to be exact. 4 - 6 pm SLT :D So, yes...I'd say, go right ahead and throw yourself a nice big rez day party.

@ Wren/3Ring, Amara, Lula, Marianne Little...your pictures were amazing.

@ Trout: good to see you, mister! I'm glad we chatted inworld last night, er, ah, early this morning. And hmmm...across the street, they're mentioning it's your birthday...is it?

@ spike: hey! Glad you made it to Friday's party, and that your first SL weekend was a good one. :)

@ Pep: Thanks for breakfast. :) Here's where I'm eating breakfast today:

Too cute! That pic is precious... I hope you and johnny continue to be good friends as you grow... You both are darling.

:)

I think that's one of sweetest pictures Mari has posted.

Rant:

Nobody told me I could take today off

I'm at the office. The other two employees are NOT here.

See, I'm off Thursday and Fridays. Apparently, my boss decided today was a holiday after all. After years of saying President's Day is a sham, he went and gave them today off but FORGOT to call me at home and tell me I didn't have to come in today

So, here I am. Alone. Until HE gets here (he always comes in regardless of what day it is, because he lives only a few blocks away and always has work to do).

Me? I live in New Jersey and woke up at 6:30am to be here at 9:00am.

I could have stayed in my warm bed cozying up with the Llama for a few more hours and then hanging out doing non-work related activities.

Blah.

Tell me about it. I am at work but at least I am not alone. Wish I could be home right now sleeping.

At the moment, I'll take alone over being here just me and the boss :p

EDIT: Geez, I can't even start working. Can't reach the server. I'd have to get a ladder, and then climb on top of a huge work area to get to it. Mind you, I don't do climbing in this office anymore. Not after falling and screwing up my leg which resulted in a worker's comp case for them here

/waves to Maureen & Spike!

Oh yea, that will work - NOT.

I'm really annoyed. I had such a nice weekend, really relaxing and was saying to Ghosty that I seriously didn't want to go to work today. I mean, how hard would it have been for someone to pickup the phone and just tell me the office is closed? Problem is that I'm the person who is responsible for those kinds of things so, you know, if I'm not there to do it, it doesn't get done lol. And, my bosses reaction was just "ummm, woops?" That killed me.

Woops? Ouch that hurts. Well, my office is open 363 days a year. We are only closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. I woke up this morning praying today was Sunday... but my alarm went off and woke me out of that dream... right into a nightmare... that today is indeed Monday

I know it's none of my business and I know I've said it before but: Elora! maybe you could find a better job closer to home. At least you get paid double time for working on a holiday, right?

So am at work also :( and nope- no holiday pay either- oh well- c'est la vie and all that- anyhoo... if one of you happens in world around 9 SLT and could possibly find the fish making course for me to grab class kit- I would so appreciate it! I am going to try and sneak in- but it is not guaranteed- and I don't know when it will be held again!

(Hmm... maybe I can drop an IM on teacher...)

Every day is Monday when you're a Second Life Entrepreneur. I'm using inclement weather as an excuse not to run this morning. It's not actually raining now but...

Oh I can pay myself for this, if I choose to. I do payroll here hehe. We get paid for holidays, when we take them off. Since I came in, I can choose either an extra vacation day, or a different floating holiday off. It's just the point that nobody saw fit to call me to let me know the office was closed this time. They are pains in the asses, but not completely unreasonable.

Oh and practically nobody pays double time anymore unless you're a major corporation, or even time and a half. Sadly, I think that concept is long gone, in a lot of areas.
