Good morning all!!!!!

As per usual I missed the weekend here. (Buying myself a new computer for xmas).

I hope everyone in the northeast is surviving the ice ok.

Happy (belated) Birthday Kami.

a new puter! w00t! congrats!! tell all!

i'm considering that also, in February. my 'new' one will be 2 years old then, and i can't believe i already need to upgrade. i'm also running a WinME dinosaur... it's just a slave, however - but i'd like to replace it (junk it) with this one i have now, and build a new SUPER computer as my main.... HA!

If anyone is into accessorizing, Courtisane is giving away a really lovely handbag free as an opening gift for the new store.

Refrain from checking out the boots if you're short on cash---they have to be the best in sl, and cost as much as a small house.

Did you say...boots???

Mine is going on 5 years old, and I think the creaky video card is finally starting to give up, I'm crashing out of SL more frequently. I'm going to try to nurse it along till the Taxman returns what he stole from me this year, then will look at replacing it.

On another note, yesterday I took a ride with a girlfriend to see her new puppy at the breeder. She will be taking it home on the 26th. It's a Black Lab. As we were oohing and ahhing over her, the breeder mentioned that her brother, the last one in the litter was available. Despite the voice in my head saying "Don't do it" I of course did, since no one tells me what to do, not even me. Bad move, about 5 minutes later I was driving to the nearest ATM to put down a deposit. So now I also have a puppy to pick up on the day after Christmas. A very expensive one.

Happy Monday everyone!

Popping in before everything goes kaput here to say hello. Already I have a feeling it's going to be one of those days. On the way to work, on the cross-town bus I realized my breakfast from Zaros had a mishap. The iced coffee (yes "iced", it's a balmy 57 degrees here in NYC today) had a crack in the lid and was leaking all over my toasted bagel. A huge puddle was in the bottom of the bag and the bagel was completely ruined. I had already spent $4 on this measly breakfast (prices are high here) and was not about to go and waste another whatever on another bagel so that was that (oh and quite a bit of the coffee had disappeared into the bagel as well - blah).

Anyhoo - enough of that. I only wish those pancakes Maureen posted could be lifted out of the forum onto my desk :(

Belated birthday wishes to Kaimi! Hope you had a wonderful day :) And hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was spent ignoring SL for the most part other than going to Maureen's party Friday night, which was lovely (fabulous house!). I'm finding lately, I'm a bit bored inworld, and been spending more time at night cozying up watching movies and such with Mr. Llama (who has been busy with his artwork and has also discovered WoW, and is a bit busy being a cow, troll, and the undead  ).

Ack! Sorry about the breakfast mishap!!! I wish I could send some breakies your way.

I am glad you could stop by on Friday night. It really was great seeing folks inworld, especially those I don't get a chance to visit with on a regular basis.

On a coffee note: I am not a Starbucks person. I like coffee just fine, but, heh, I'd rather spend my extra coins on...on...lindens or something. :D For a holiday gift, I just received a Starbucks giftcard! Now that's a great thing to be able to re-gift to someone...right?

Morning folks- and thanks for the comments on the pics- it's fun being a bad girl at times- and how much badder than a deamoness can one get?

Went to a fantastic Xmas freebie place and picked up tons of goodies- will have much fun xmasing up every place that doesn't duck out of the way.

Sorry for your broken breakfast, Elora -

Happy Monday to all :)

That holiday freebie place was great, wasn't it, Amara? I overloaded my inventory with stuff from there...around Thanksgiving. :D

As a form of apology for three days of silence, a few bits of doggerel on a Monday morning.

For Kaimi:
Kaimi's real life birthday has past
Another year has arrived much too fast
But we're all very glad
Of the time that we've had
In this thread, may her fun always last
(happy birthday again!)

And for Honey:
Honey's still missing a sig
Cause the Lindens did not give a fig
Of what residents thought
About OS's bought
But they can't touch her modeling gig
(Let's get that sig into Happy-land again! :D )

And..well...I'll need permission to post the third. :)

You can regift the Starbucks card, just make sure neither the person you give it to nor the person who gave it to you find out ;)

They make some good hot chocolate too, so you might think about that before you get rid of the card.

I am not a Starbucks person either. I get those cards each year and I give them to my Mailman. I make a batch of oatmeal cookies, and give him a box withe the card in it. I give the garbage guys cookies and $20.

Nice poems Jer :) I just wanted to reiterate my B-day wishes for Kaimi in case they got swallowed by the pix I posted and she missed it. /me waves and throws confetti for our dear Kaimi!
Thank you Sweetie! It was my acknowledgement that got lost - multiple posting too much to keep track of I guess.

I feel bad in that I was considering getting a dog from the pound after the holidays. I've never been one for pure breed dogs, especially when they run in the 4 figure price range, when so many dogs are facing the needle every day. But, a couple of minutes with the little guy removed all sensibility from me. Not even thinking of shoes helped.

A new puppy is a much better xmas present than a computer. :)

Only thing bad about puppies is that they grow up so quick. The good thing about labs is they take forever to out grow being puppies.

If they find out tell them you enjoyed getting it so much that you decided to get one as a special gift for a special friend.

So now I also have a puppy to pick up on the day after Christmas. A very expensive one.

Hooray!!! Labs are so cute!! Beware of the chewing; it doesn't stop for another 2 years. But darn are they cute.

Belated Happy Birthday to Kaimi! I hope the next year is as good or better than the last. :)

And boy is it cold up here in WA. 19 degrees Farenheit last I heard, and tomorrow is supposed to hit 6 degrees F for a low. And we got snow! It was only like half an inch but it was fun. :)

well, now we are measuring the snow in inches, so i predict by end of workday i'll be pushing a snowblower. :( but it sure is pretty outside. i mean, it's just beautiful! that soft blanket of clean whiteness, quietness - it feels pure. i do love snow in that way.

if i could be a shut in today, i'd actually enjoy it. i really really really don't want to go out driving in this mess. driving and shovelling make me dislike the snow. not time for enjoyment, since there's always work to be done. ugh.

Happy Monday! :D

Yes, snow is a difficult thing. It's so lovely...peaceful...everyday noises are muted...time slows down...people take time to talk with their neighbors...

But gah!! Driving can be a nightmare...even if you know what you're doing...others may not.

We do not get a lot of snow here in the D.C. area. It's pretty erratic, and many people who live here hail from parts of the globe where there's even less snow. So, when it does snow...people go nuts. It's as if they forgot anything they learned about driving in hazardous condition...like how to brake...

And then! The craziness at the grocery stores is very amusing. At the first sign of a snowflake, there's a rush on milk, bread and toilet paper. :p

It is good to rescue pound pets - but sometimes you find your perfect four footed soul mate somewhere else.
You can always make a donation later to a rescue organization. But do it anonymously or you'll be inundated with distressing animal cruelty stories and pictures attached to appeals for more.
