From: Ravenelle Zugzwang *runs through the thread* wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee If this thread was a water slide, it would be huge with lots of twists and turns, eventually dumping you out into the pool, and probably on someone else' s head , and then they would AR you. hahahahaha a couple nitwits would pee in the pool - you know it - no, not me! I'd be the one to get in line again and again. but if you pee in the pool it turns the water purple, duh. Here was a safari hunt I did looking for what I dont know...but the clothes were too cute!

From: Tod69 Talamasca Yep! It does all that and more! Our house aint exactly the most "ferret safe" house, so I have to watch her when I let her out to run & play. She's trying to get the cat to play with her, but the cat is too darned fat to move Yep, ferret proofing a house is a whole different story..... It takes lots and lots of duct tape and cardboard to cover up all of those holes they can squeeze their fat little bodies into. I used to buy a large piece of plexiglass and wedge into the doors of the rooms I didnt want them in. Sometimes climbing over it could nearly break your neck if you tripped but what the heck. All for the love of ferrets. Cats and dogs love them. Mine would cuddle up and sleep together when they were not in my bed with me. I used to have the cutest little girl ferret that I rescued, she would climb to the top of the Christmas tree, the boys were skeered to. Open my closet door and steal a matching pair of shoes and hide them under the bed. hehe Mine were never caged, they owned both the house and me... Kaimi, they are illegal in CA because someone in your govt thinks they are going to become ferral and eat all of your chickens. Your governor couldnt even get that idiot law changed. There is an organization based in SF that is still working on it formed by Jeannie Carley. Your bad my good, I have rescued many a ferret out of CA. In NY they are only illegal in certain cities or counties, not the whole state.

A thank you to all who posted

I normally don't invade this thread, but I did want to thank those who posted ideas and responses in my thread about moderator actions.
I would say it was a rather marginal decision to lock it, since it didn't name the moderator, nor was it a thread about that moderator (but instead, an inquiry about what is considered 'okay' in this message board--and to cut off all discussion about such things seems rather authoritarian. But there ya go).
Anyway, it's no big deal, but I did want to acknowledge the help that many posters here gave, by posting feedback on the topic.

Pep (Has made his mind up) I do think that's a better option than deletion. It's far less authoritarian. (As you may have guessed, I think that business enterprises of this type are not well-served by authoritarian conduct.) One question that I posted, to which I'd love an answer: many message boards do contain a clearly-labeled thread (sometimes more than one, for various nuances) in which people can enquire about moderator actions. Since such threads are subject to the same TOS rules as any other, there's no danger of them becoming flamefests or such. So....why not have one, here? Wouldn't that demonstrate a commitment to better customer service---something that LL has stated it wants to achieve?

Just an aside here- it may be best to keep this line of questioning outside the Thread- seeing as how Strife made a point of saying the TOS part about reposting content of locked threads and about how to appeal decisions. I am sure none of us want the Thread closed for this sort of thing.

Wouldn't that demonstrate a commitment to better customer service---something that LL has stated it wants to achieve? They have a whole forum that could be used that way, and I have seen some threads like that there. /274/1.htmlThere are even some threads in there that haven't been locked that seem, on the surface, to discuss mods, giving feedback. That reminds, there was a feedback thread also. Looking. Here we go, forum feedback. Actually that is forum guidelines feedback. Never mind. /341/0d/275405/1.html

Hi, Posonby. I think the best thread for this discussion, if you truly want to affect ongoing moderation policy, is Katt's thread about new forum guidelines: /341/0d/275405/1.htmlAnd no, there is no particular thread here for discussion of individual moderation decisions. .

It's great to see new faces, old faces and a thriving, active, community. Communities are resiliant. I thought this place woudl be dead after GD closed. I'm glad to have been proved wrong.
