Costs 9.95 to reinstate, and you do not lose any inventory if you do it fast enough.
Yes, I know. :rolleyes:

I'm glad you were sane enough to venture into SL again. Sadly a night I was not at the hangout, nor in world for that matter.

I was wondering where you were too:( How are you?:)

The Ballad of The Shape of Things

Completely round is the perfect pearl the oyster manufactures.
Completely round is the steering wheel that leads to compound fractures
Completely round is the golden fruit that hangs from the o-o-orange tree
Yes the circle shape is quite renown
But sad to say it can be found
In the lowdown, dirty run-around
That my true love gave to me
That my true love gave to me

Completely square is the little box he said my ring would be in
Completely square is the envelope he said good-bye to me in
Completely square is the handkerchief I flourish constantly
As I dry my eyes of the tears I've shed,
And blow my nose which turns bright red
For a perfect square is my true love's head
He will not marry me, no
He will not marry me

Rectangular is the hotel door my true love tried to sneak through
Rectangular is the transom hole by which I had to peek through,
Rectangular is the hotel room I entered angrily, and
Rectangular is the wooden box
Where lies my love neath the golden phlox
They say he died of the chicken pox
In part I must agree
One chick too many had he

Triangular is the piece of pie I eat to ease my sorrow
Triangular is the hatchet blade I plan to hide tomorrow
Triangular the relationship which now has ceased to be
And triangular is the garment thin
That fastens on with a safety pin
To a prize I had no wish to win
It's a lasting memory
That my true love gave to me
Very strange poem but it definitely appeals to me not least of which for that very reason. Thanks for posting it Brenda :)

Mo posted the YouTube for it a while back. It's meant to be sung sort of like an Olde English Madrigal.

I actually do not remember where I was last night, what I was doing. Odd.

Lately, I have been filling up my time by overloading my Flickr page with visits to Science Fiction settings (and roleplaying Sims and whatever keyword I can think of to put in there).

Catching up on the post here. Felt inspired to share this. Works for breakfast or midnight, and lyrics are peotry aren't they.

Eggs And Sausage
(Tom Waits 1975) You know there were nighthawks at the diner
A little joint called Emma's 49er
With a rendezvous of strangers around the coffee urn tonight
And all the gypsy hacks and now the insomniacs
And the paper's been read
As the waitress said

Eggs and sausage and a side of toast
Coffee and a roll and a hash browns over easy
And some chile in a bowl with burgers and fries
Now what kind of pie?

Now you see in this graveyard charade
Well it was kinda of a late shift masquerade
With 2 for a quarter and its dime for a dance
With Woolworth rhinestone diamond earrings and a sideway's glance
And as the register rings
And the waitress sings

Eggs and sausage and a side of toast
Coffee and a roll and a hash browns over easy
And some chile in a bowl with burgers and fries
Now what kind of pie?

Now you see the classified sectio
Well it offers no direction
And it was cold caffeine in a nicotine cloud
And as the touch of your fingers
Continues to Linger burning in my memory
Well I've been 86ed from your scheme
And I'm in this melodramatic nocturnal scene
I'm a refugee from a disconcerted affair
At the end of an emotional cul-de-sac
And as the lead pipe morning falls
Waitress calls

Eggs and sausage and a side of toast
Coffee and a roll and a hash browns over easy
And some chile in a bowl with burgers and fries
Now what kind of lie?
? if you will
Just come in and join the crowd
Have some time to kill
Nothing else to do
Just come in and join the crowd
Have some time to kill
Nothing else to do
Just come in and join the crowd
Have some time to kill

Of course Mr. Waits voice does add to the overall effect.

A man and his dog were walking along a road. The man was enjoying the scenery, when it suddenly occurred to him that he was dead. He remembered dying, and that the dog walking beside him had been dead for years. He wondered where the road was leading them.

After a while, they came to a high, white stone wall along one side of the road. It looked like fine marble. At the top of a long hill, it was broken by a tall arch that glowed in the sunlight.

When he was standing before it he saw a magnificent gate in the arch that looked like mother-of-pearl, and the street that led to the gate looked like pure gold. He and the dog walked toward the gate, and as he got closer, he saw a man at a desk to one side. When he was close enough, he called out, "Excuse me, where are we?"

"This is Heaven, sir," the man answered.
"Wow! Would you happen to have some water?" the man asked.
"Of course, sir. Come right in, and I'll have some ice water brought right up." The man gestured, and the gate began to open.
"Can my friend," gesturing toward his dog, "come in, too?" the traveler asked.
"I'm sorry, sir, but we don't accept pets."

The man thought a moment and then turned back toward the road and continued the way he had been going with his dog.

After another long walk, and at the top of another long hill, he came to a dirt road leading through a farm gate that looked as if it had never been closed. There was no fence. As he approached the gate, he saw a man inside, leaning against a tree and reading a book.

"Excuse me!" he called to the man. "Do you have any water?"
"Yeah, sure, there's a pump over there, come on in."
"How about my friend here?" the traveler gestured to the dog.
"There should be a bowl by the pump."

They went through the gate, and sure enough, there was an old-fashioned hand pump with a bowl beside it. The traveler filled the water bowl and took a long drink himself, then he gave some to the dog. When they were full, he and the dog walked back toward the man who was standing by the tree.

"What do you call this place?" the traveler asked.
"This is Heaven," he answered.
"Well, that's confusing," the traveler said. "The man down the road said that was Heaven, too."
"Oh, you mean the place with the gold street and pearly gates? Nope. That's hell."
"Doesn't it make you mad for them to use your name like that?"
"No, we're just happy that they screen out the folks who would leave their best friends behind."
This was a pleasure to read and so true too. Very much in the same vein as Footprints :) (erm no pun intended ;) )

A huge pig called Bruce has trapped a terrified woman in her home in Australia.

Caroline Hayes, 63, tried to leave her house in Uki, New South Wales, to use the outdoor toilet, but the animal bit her and shoved her back inside.

Bruce, who is the size of a Shetland pony, showed up at her home 10 days ago after his owners were unable to cope with him and let him loose in the rainforest.

Hayes began feeding the beast, but he became more aggressive, demanding more food and biting her on the leg when she tried to go to the toilet.

William Robert Spencer
'Gelert'

The spearmen heard the bugle sound,
And cheerily smiled the morn;
And many a brach, and many a hound
Obeyed Llewellyn's horn.

And still he blew a louder blast,
And gave a lustier cheer,
"Come, Gelert, come, wert never last
Llewellyn's horn to hear.

"O where does faithful Gelert roam
The flower of all his race;
So true, so brave - a lamb at home,
A lion in the chase?"

In sooth, he was a peerless hound,
The gift of royal John;
But now no Gelert could be found,
And all the chase rode on.

That day Llewellyn little loved
The chase of hart and hare;
And scant and small the booty proved,
For Gelert was not there.

Unpleased, Llewellyn homeward hied,
When, near the portal seat,
His truant Gelert he espied
Bounding his lord to greet.

But when he gained the castle-door,
Aghast the chieftain stood;
The hound all o'er was smeared with gore;
His lips, his fangs, ran blood.

Llewellyn gazed with fierce surprise;
Unused such looks to meet,
His favourite checked his joyful guise,
And crouched, and licked his feet.

Onward, in haste, Llewellyn passed,
And on went Gelert too;
And still, where'er his eyes he cast,
Fresh blood-gouts shocked his view.

Overturned his infant's bed he found,
With blood-stained covert rent;
And all around the walls and ground
With recent blood besprent.

He called his child - no voice replied -
He searched with terror wild;
Blood, blood he found on every side,
But nowhere found his child.

"Hell-hound! my child's by thee devoured,"
The frantic father cried;
And to the hilt his vengeful sword
He plunged in Gelert's side.

Aroused by Gelert's dying yell,
Some slumberer wakened nigh;
What words the parent's joy could tell
To hear his infant's cry!

Concealed beneath a tumbled heap
His hurried search had missed,
All glowing from his rosy sleep
The cherub boy he kissed.

No hurt had he, nor harm, nor dread,
But, the same couch beneath,
Lay a gaunt wolf, all torn and dead,
Tremendous still in death.

Ah, what was then Llewellyn's pain!
For now the truth was clear;
His gallant hound the wolf had slain
To save Llewellyn's heir.

(mo got there before me lol)
:D :D mmmm this thread is richer for the poetry. I'll give you hugs too *hugs* Yes I read down before posting lol So stake me! :cool:

We have all, the time in the world
Time ENOUGH for life
To UNFOLD
All the prescious things
Love has in store

We have all the love in the world
If that's all we have
You will find
We need nothing more

Every step of the way
Will find us
With the cares of the world
Far behind us

We have all the time in the world
Just for love
Nothing more
Nothing less
Only love

Every step of the way
Will find us
With the cares of the world
Far behind us
Yes

We have all the time in the world
Just for love
Nothing more
Nothing less
Only love
One of my most favouritest song ever! :D

Go to the welcome areas and pick up newbies. You can show them the ropes... and chains and duct tape. :p
This is gold advice...see SL from fresh, newb eyes again. You will gain a fresh perspective and maybe some new ideas too :)

Nobody Cares - about me or my opinion - and therefore I am taking it personally and I'm currently deeply hurt by it all.

Hey Lil,

I hope you are not serious about that. I think you are one of the people that make this forum worth coming back to over and over again. :)
