Actually, I think steep descents are tougher on me than ascents. Going up, you can just lean in and grind up the trail, but all that braking on the way down is hell on the thighs and knees.
So true - I would much rather run or walk up the hills. Going up is really only rough on my breathing, whereas going down seems to make all sorts of parts ache.

Holy hell, I knew I was a little short on sleep, but...

I fell asleep for 4 hours right after work yesterday, woke up for 5, and then slept for 13 more.
You should be good to go back to major skimping for quite a while now

Yikes - we have go to recruit some more folks that are awake at that time of the day/night.

See Claire's sig for your answer to this.

who needs two laptops?
When I am not at home, two would be great -- one for email and forums and the other for SL.
:D

From: Claire Silverspar
Noone NEEDS two, but I have two puters lol.

Infact, between three of us we have 3 laptops, 2 Desktops, and a handheld thingie. We also have another laptop which is bust, but Mum said something about keeping it for spares lol.
Yep, it is now only my husband and I at home. We have two desktops with two monitors each. Another two desktops for guests (or backup in case of main failure) and 3 laptops (though two of those are work issue that we are just required to tote everywhere because they own our ass).

Feline and I want to thank everyone who dropped in to the open house last night. We had 30 people there at one time. The sim held up pretty well, some script lag but nothing worse than you get in any sim with 30 people in it.

I am glad everyone got to see Feline's hard work. If you couldn't make it last night, the sim is open for exploration at any time.
So glad it went well. I was bummed that I could not make it. I will definitely stop by next week sometime to see how all of Feline's work came out.

The party was great fun, thank you so both so much. It was also nice to interact a bit with non-forum folks for a change :)

The sim, and indeed neighboring sims, are quite lovely. Feline and Chris created a peaceful, varied landscape that has a lot of nooks and crannies which a builder could build and rebuild as whimsey dictates, without perturbing the overall design. I took notes :)

I've finally finished the Carousel! I gave up on the start/stop by chat commands, so its just continuously going, but it looks fab!
I actually rebuilt this one because the guy who made the original carousel is offline, but this is similar to how his looks anyway...

Vamp did the script too...he's a genius - I swear lol.

When you get yourself going good there, you can come visit me and train here -- I live at 6200 (though where I am at right now is about 9000 and the base of where I ski is 10,000).
Hmm there's an idea. I had just been looking foreward to how easy my usual 5k would seem at home. But actually I did notice my run felt easier today so maybe I should think about increasing the difficulty...

From: LittleMe Jewell
Someone has probably already replied to this - the Calendar is now hanging on the west wall of the Hangout and you can buy a copy for L$100, which will go to charity..
Excellent! I can't wait to see it.

Hmmm, so I might have gotten some bad advice huh? Oh well, too bad - I'm staying.

I'm sorry I missed it, I'd like to come take a look when I get back to my own computer.

This is so cool. You're so clever, Claire. Do the horses go up and down as well as round and round?

Hey all! Comin' to you live via dial-up... ugh. Every page takes forEVER to load. Anyway, before my connection breaks, I just wanted to say a big Thanks to everyone who's bought the calendar! We've raised nearly L$3000 for Heifer International, which puts us over the top to buy a beehive, and well on the way to buying a trio of rabbits. Hooray!

My cousins are pulling me away from the computer and telling me that it's mojito time, so adios for a few more days.

I was gonna say "Mind if I test-drive?", but for some reason it just sounds wrong, so nevermind.

Good thing you stopped yourself kiddo or you might have earned a timeout.
:D

Hi all - just checking in. Going to try and log inworld to clear group notices and IMs and such, but I already know that while my SL performance using this laptop sucks, trying to do SL on this laptop via wireless is 100 times worse.

They seem to be taking Gustav very seriously. I hope CX and everyone else has gotten to safety and that damage won't be bad.

*waves to Kaimi* - hi hi hi

CX said he was all prepped to evacuate, if they needed to, he had a place all set up to go to. He's also prepared to stay, if they do not need to evacuate (i.e., (food/water/generator, etc.).

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.
