From: Morgaine Alter I think post #32357 is now considered harrasment. Just my own opinion, this has went from disagreements to freaky very quickly. Kinda stalkerish, isn't it? Weird. I'm not a psychiatrist, nor do I play one on television, but a daresay some obsessive tendencies seem to be emerging. Of course, post count numbers seem to change frequently Meanwhile, I have bigger wankers getting on my (and my cohorts') nerves! Would you believe that our Union leaders have decided to strike NOT on Tuesday, but on MONDAY?? On a statutory holiday!!!! Nothing but a handful of students on campus! How does that make any kind of sense? Damn commies.

From: LittleMe Jewell I am going to try and stay away from here so I can finish up processing some bills and finish up my packing. If I don't get back in before I leave, have a good day everyone. I'll pop in later tonight to see if everyone is playing nice. Lil, have a great time!

From: Maureen Boccaccio Sheesh. Apparently someone was using last year's calendar or something. And if they'd struck on Tuesday, would that have meant a day off for you? No, I have to march the picket line to collect my buck-ninety-nine in strike pay. They're expecting people to cut their last long weekend short to picket on Monday. By that decision they've not only handed management a big chunk of cash (our paid vacation day) but have alienated the membership, most of whom - at this location - don't want the strike anyway. Fortunately, my bank will let me skip a mortgage payment if this goes through. Between that and eating sand for a while, I should be okay.

Happy 29th, Lil ! !
Meanwhile, good news for me. The roofer just came by to quote me for re-shingling. It's going to cost about a third less than I thought and he thinks it can wait until Spring. Yay, me. That's one less worry (in case of a strike next week) on my mind this weekend.

From: Pserendipity Daniels And apparently reconsidered . . . Pep (Type fast, edit faster) no it was the wording i reconsidered, not the content. whoever you are, whatever your beef, leave it out of this thread. i actually find you mildly entertaining, don't make me regret my decision.

Hi Everyone! Happy Birthday Lil! I'm here in the very same Cascade Mountain Range as Trout, sort of, training at 4000 feet. Or to be more accurate perhaps, finding out that training at sea level hasn't made me quite as fit as I'd flattered myself I was getting. I actually enjoyed the 30 hour train trip up here; I spent most of it just watching the beautiful scenery roll by. By the time I got here my ill daughter was out of the hospital and feeling almost normal again, thanks for all your good wishes. So about the most helpful thing I got to do was take the grandkids on long walks to get them out of their mom's hair for awhile. It was great to be with everybody here. Then we found out that the same daughter's ex-boyfriend, who had just kicked her and the kids out of the house in Hawaii has filed for custody of the baby (the one that's his) over there with a court date yesterday. She scrambled on the phone to try to get some legal help and applied to "appear" via phone instead of having to fly back there, but they didn't call to tell her that would be ok until it was way too late for her to make the court appearance if the phone thing hadn't been ok. So she and the kids are back in Hawaii and all that happened in court, so far, was she was ordered not to take the baby out ot the state. So she's stuck there now with no family, no job etc. We can only pray and hope for the best. Since they left I've been walking and running with the other daughter and her dogs on some beautiful trails and generally having a nice time with her. Now she and her husband have gone to a long-planned weekend with his family in another part of the state. She tried to back out to stay with me but I actually enjoy being alone sometimes and I insisted she go. It's really nice here and the whole state smells like um a pine and juniper forrest. So I had some time to read back quite a bit of the thread but I think I missed something about the calendar. Is is out and for sale now? I won't be able to go in world until I get back to my own computer. While I've been gone my other step-daughter, in S.D., gave birth to my 6th grandchild. From: Brann Georgia No, I have to march the picket line to collect my buck-ninety-nine in strike pay. They're expecting people to cut their last long weekend short to picket on Monday. By that decision they've not only handed management a big chunk of cash (our paid vacation day) but have alienated the membership, most of whom - at this location - don't want the strike anyway. It almost sounds as if your union leaders have been bought/intimidated by union busters. From: LittleMe Jewell Hi, my name is Lil and apparently I am addicted to these forums. I was having a case of withdrawal when we could not get to them a little while ago. I was told that I needed to admit to my problem and post here to admit it before my fellow forumites. I think you were probably supposed to be avoiding us.

Sorry to hear about your daughter, Kaimi; I hope it turns out well for her.
Welcome to the NW! I hope you're enjoying the Cascades. I feel like the Mt St. Helens areas and Goat Rocks are second homes to me, but you're right, the altitude and steep ascents will kill you.
Actually, I think steep descents are tougher on me than ascents. Going up, you can just lean in and grind up the trail, but all that braking on the way down is hell on the thighs and knees.
