My eye, my eyes!!...zeroed in on the nearly nekkid av in pic 2. But is that Ann in her robot av?

Nope, keep looking. :)

The nearly nekkid AV was, apparently, a Chinese policeman in a pink thong.

the studious will see the above leaflet and note that the skyline featured beneath the words THANK YOU BIRMINGHAM! is NOT the skyline of Birmingham, UK, but is actually the skyline of Birmingham, Alabama, in the US. Oops!

bwa ha ha ha ha

I thought about you when I heard about that. Glad you made it through ok.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Although after 26 hours I imagine I'll be glad when it's over. :D

I'm 40 miles away from The City now so I didn't see much, but Tornado warnings , and actual Tornados are a bit more common here.

I once took a trip from New York To Texas by train. 30 Hours, and loved it. I did have a few hours layover in Chicago, so that helped. Are you getting a compartment?

in retrospect, friendships were damaged after the last one. it's fun to joke about, but i think we should just pass on the whole idea within these fora!

I've been working today on a kind of big project with a close deadline.

I also went to the train station to pick up my ticket for a trip to Oregon on Tuesday. The good news is I get to see two of my kids and two grandkids. The bad news is I'm going kind of hurriedly because my youngest had to go to the hospital a few days ago with something serious but not quite explained yet. The other good news is that she is home and doing better now, thank goodness.

Kaimi, So sorry about your son/daughter's illness. I sure hope all is well soon. That train trip is fabulous though. I hope you got a sleeper. I did it once from LA to Portland. Talk about a relaxing way to travel...

Bleary eye morning peeps ... /me waves sleepily...

Why am I up at such an hour (8:44 am) on a Saturday, you ask? Come- ask... I'll wait- need audience participation... OK- That's better...

Seems we may have an undesired guest by Monday- Tropical Storm Fay is looking as if it may visit Miami.. so- while I did fill my gas tank and did my banking yesterday and house work, etc so I could laze about today- I now have to rush of to the grocery store and stock up on water- make ice, fill the generator and portable gas cans, check the canned good inventory... we are pretty much stocked anyway cause at the beginning of hurricane season we see to these things mostly- but it pays to be prepared--- argh! I want my bed!!

Wow, Amara! Hope it runs out of steam before it gets there... I'll be watching the news and thinking of you. Stay safe.

My Dream trip is to take the train cross country ,spend a few days in California then drive up the coast to Washington and grab an Alaskan Cruise ship, then fly back home when all is done. If I did that it would give me 49 out of 50 States visited, I'm at 46 right now.
