I just want to know what his kitchen looks like, and who the heck is cooking for him (when he's not in some training camp or at the Olympics)!!   Can you imagine the size his fridge must be too cope with all that stuff? Or how many time they must need to go and shop?? Bet he doesn't just go to the cupboard and think 'I don't know what I want' He's more likely to just say 'I'll have everything' lol. _____________________

Bleary eye morning peeps ... /me waves sleepily...
Why am I up at such an hour (8:44 am) on a Saturday, you ask? Come- ask... I'll wait- need audience participation... OK- That's better... Seems we may have an undesired guest by Monday- Tropical Storm Fay is looking as if it may visit Miami.. so- while I did fill my gas tank and did my banking yesterday and house work, etc so I could laze about today- I now have to rush of to the grocery store and stock up on water- make ice, fill the generator and portable gas cans, check the canned good inventory... we are pretty much stocked anyway cause at the beginning of hurricane season we see to these things mostly- but it pays to be prepared--- argh! Ha, there were 60 people in Sarah's sim for the NIN party at one point, and one of them thar Lindens even stopped by! I got a few pics, over the definite objections of my graphics card, before I crashed.  .  Where's Ann? The contest images contributed by everyone were displayed on the stage ( they rezzed eventually...) _____________________

Ah yes...Deadwood - I have to go check out that sim. Nice sim Maureen. I believe they will want you in period clothing in the actual sim. (There's freebies in the welcome area.) There's serious rp down there, from my short stays - so if I saw you, I'd have to chat in IM - chat is for IC only. _____________________

So, the city council of Birmingham, a major city in the UK, decided to print off a set of leaflets (about 720,000 of them) to distribute around the area, highlighting the city's recycling program (programme?), and thanking residents for contributing.
Here's the leaflet:  Putting aside for a moment the thought of printing 720,000 paper leaflets to thank people for recycling (which, I admit, is kind of funny); the studious will see the above leaflet and note that the skyline featured beneath the words THANK YOU BIRMINGHAM! is NOT the skyline of Birmingham, UK, but is actually the skyline of Birmingham, Alabama, in the US. I've been working today on a kind of big project with a close deadline. ooh. what'hca doin'? I also went to the train station to pick up my ticket for a trip to Oregon on Tuesday. The good news is I get to see two of my kids and two grandkids. The bad news is I'm going kind of hurriedly because my youngest had to go to the hospital a few days ago with something serious but not quite explained yet. The other good news is that she is home and doing better now, thank goodness. have a safe trip to Oregon. i'm really sorry about your daughter. i hope everything is totally fine by now. i'm really glad you are getting to see your family. my kids are sticking around this weekend, so i am delighted. i think we are planning a sneak attack hike to my hubby's camp site. LOL And this evening I went to a neighborhood concert in the park. The band played all rock songs from my youth plus it's fun to see all these people of all ages come out and dance. They were just getting started when I took this pic. For breakfast: three fried egg sandwiches, with cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, fried onions and mayonnaise, followed by three chocolate-chip pancakes; a five-egg omelette; three sugar-coated slices of French toast and a bowl of grits (a maize-based porridge), washed down with two cups of coffee. For lunch: half a kilogram (one pound) of enriched pasta; two large ham and cheese sandwiches on white bread smothered with mayonnaise, washed down by energy drinks. For dinner: Another half-kilogram of pasta, perhaps with a carbonara sauce, followed by a large pizza and more energy drinks. that's different than the foods i eat, but i think (honestly) that the combined intake of his one day equals almost a week of mine. those are incredible amounts of food. WOW! of course, he needs all that for energy. i'm sure he doesn't eat like that when he's not training/competing. he'd be HUGE if he did. _____________________

The contest images contributed by everyone were displayed on the stage ( they rezzed eventually...) i see Ann in the far right, with a burgandy top on. just in the last month, i simply can not take snapshots anymore. my puter freezes. doesn't even crash. just stays frozen to the point that i actually have to do a hard shut down and reboot. the other day, i had to run out so i left it to crash on it's own. when i came back 2 hours later, it was still frozen so i had to do the ol hard shut down routine. _____________________
