OMG- can one spam a thread? How original and what a waste of time.

Funny, I just PM'd Rioko our Rez Day party and mentioned casinos in it offhand. Now I know where to go if I require more info, hehe. The girl must be a freakin mindreader :p

Spam post reported. I guess since this was the biggest thread it was bound to get hit, just like the biggest groups inworld get hit.

Afternoon, people. I've just had a gorgeous lamb and veggie soup and I'm sitting here cradling a mocha like it's a lifeline and feeling in need of an afternoon nap to sleep off that food. Eek! Does this mean I'm getting old? :p

Lin I knew you were joking, you don't have a mean bone in your whole body. Thanks to everyone for the good words!!

... FD ... diatribe...

B
I'm pretty sure this is a case of miscommunication. To me it seemed the first part of FD's post was meant only to assure you that he took what you said in good part. I think his musing on the kind of attitude that he might not enjoy so much was meant as a contrast to what you said, which FD wanted you to know he was ok with.

Or I'm way off base... I don't want to be too presumptuous but until FD gets back I felt as if I should say something because I think I know him a little.

/me refrains from judgement, as I'd need a nap after that soup too :)

It sounds delish by the way, but a heavy soup which would make one sleepy.

I think it's pretty neat that you both have Gordon Parks stories. :) He was an amazing photographer.
Indeed. And an amazing person.

In downtown LA I think there is a Starbuck's on every block. Maybe in every building.

Actually, on second thoughts I retract my apology.

In any other sphere of human activity, my little quote and the self-deprecating aside would have been taken in the manner it was meant.

You obviousy set great store by "emotional intelligence" FD and as can be implied from your little diatribe, aren't afraid to suggest you have a larger than average ability in that area.

Strange to note that in this particular episode you seem to be sadly lacking.

At the end of the day FD you can take any stance you like on the educated vs uneducated, but your little outburst against the educated does in itself suggest some unresolved issues.

A propensity for snide passive-aggressive outbursts being just one.

And, yes God forbid, I used some "big" words in this post, but not to flaunt an education, simply because they seemed the most appropriate. Perhaps this does flag me as a "pompous jerk" prone to educational "dick waving", but I suspect only to those with issues regarding their own endowment (in whatever area).

Now THATS why I shouldn't post in this thread.

Oh, that soup sounds delicious.

Naps are always good, no matter how young or old. :) It amuses me how little ones fight the urge to nap, and as adults, many of us would be thrilled to have someone insist we take a nap. :p
