I walked out of a Ralph Lauren Outlet Store a few months ago, leaving $200 worth of stuff on the counter because of all the incessant attempts at Data Mining. "Zip Code?' No. "Phone Number" No. "Name and mailing address" NO.......I just want you to take my money and let me get out of here. "I'm sorry. The manager says we have to ask these questions" Well, tell your manager it just cost him a sale. I took my Ben Franklins and walked out.

Update:
I'm borrowing the webs while staying with family, so should be around for a couple of days :D Still no SL though :(
The phone company have said the line should be fixed in 24 hours, but I've heard it before, so I'm not holding my breath.

That SD Convention Center is a nice venue. And I don't know about the iPhone, but I am pretty much falling in love with my nifty new iPod Touch!! In addition to the music capacity, which is what I thought I was getting, I can get email, IMs, internet access...and that touch technology is waaaay cool.

I'd love to get an iPhone or iPod Touch but I can't. Hell will freeze over before I ever deal with AT&T again.

You don't have to deal with AT&T with an iPod Touch. It doesn't have a phone. It comes in very handy for email & internet only if you're able to connect via a wireless network.

I love mine. Was thankful I'd set it up with email when my laptop got a hairball and fried its motherboard, since I was then able to email my best SL pal and get messages to a few key people that I'd be SL-less for a bit.

You can connect with any wireless network? I thought you needed a data plan from AT&T. Maybe I can get an iPod Touch after all, but it will have to wait until I can afford a new Mac. My old Mac barely runs SL so replacing that is a top priority. :D

Has it given u any trouble? I am getting ready to use it as a doorstop! I do go on line and pay per bite when i need something that just cant wait- the data plan was only like $20.00 but I found I didn't need it anymore so took it off. Sadly it drops calls like crazy - I may get a real phone :( Right now I am walking around with three - my mom's cause it doesn't drop calls and she doesn't need it- a really old and unsophisticated sort of phone- and a separate phone that works like a dream but sadly ATT doesn't carry it.

Seriously, how much time would I really do for Grand Theft Concept Vehicle? I have a completely clean record so far. I think I could get away with a couple months in the joint, a fine and some time on the side of the road picking up garbage.

I have had it for 2 years now. I use it because of the ability to sync with my outlook contacts, calendar, and notes. I also store schematics of circuit boards and a lot of music on it. It is slower than I would like, but rarely have a dropped call.

This is myy second one and it is worse than the first one :(
The first one I even took on a road trip and kept my blog up the whole time- I was on the data plan then- but it went downhill and this one just sux big time.
