What would you like your final post in these forums to be?

It seems increasingly likely that these forums will soon become history. Since deadlines and commitments thereto seem to be as much a fantasy to LL as the rest of SL, it seemed to me that perhaps we need to start a final goodbye thread, before the lock. So my question is: what would you want your final posting to say? Just one post please, although of course you can edit it, and your alts also have a right to their own voice, if they have something different to say. My own final message would simply be: Goodbye and good luck everyone that has laughed at or been annoyed with my contributions here. I am very unlikely to be posting to any other SL forums, official or not, so if you want the benefit of my particular brand of insight and bigotry the best place to watch out for me is in The Forum Cartel group chat - although I am much less critical inworld. If you are really brave, you can always IM me or drop me a notecard, of course, but don't expect the same sort of response as here in the forums. As for my forum experience, I'd like to offer the cliche "It's been real" . . . Pep ( . . . but it hasn't! )

hehe interesting question but I'm sure it doesn't really matter much what anyones last post is. I saw a bunch of people migrate from the XstreetSL forums to the new commerce forums today. Apparently it was important to a lot of them to make a last post on a forum. I didn't see where any of the last posts made any significant difference except they had their forum post logged somewhere. I'm sure the rest of their posts are too, and if they aren't and are deleted from the web all together (which they are usually archived) then I guess it doesn't really matter. LOL.
sorry gotta edit to add this..
So after all that, I suppose that could be used as my last post and I wouldn't care.

Wow, let see...
There are so many people in here who made the forums entertaining and kept me reading them for the last few years, even though I didn't post very often.
I started to list people who I've enjoyed reading posts from, but after scrolling names up a couple of pages, well there are tons.
So for all you people with hundreds and thousands of posts here, I hope to keep reading you at whatever takes the place of this forum (you too Pep).
Cookies go so much better with smiles, giggles and laughs.

From: EF Klaar "So long, and thanks for all the crap." Fixed it for you (ya had a little typo ) Since fish was already mentioned, I had a feeling it was a typo, otherwise it would just be redundant.

From: EF Klaar "So long, and thanks for all the carp." You misspelled "crap". I won't bother so much with a "Last post". I'll just find a real forum somewhere completely out from under LL's control once they turn off the lights here. Not only is the new forum extremely badly done, but the posting rules are violently anti-competitive. You can not post links or references to ANY sort of e-commerce site that is not in-world or part of LL's domain (Such as XStreet). Not even if it is your own website for your own exclusively-for-SL products and services. From: someone No Advertising or Commercial Promotion. Except as expressly provided below under “Exceptions,” we do not allow advertising or the promotion of specific merchants, marketplace listings, products, services, or commercial websites, including offers to trade, “wanted” posts, charitable solicitations, and posts on affiliate or referral programs. “Advertising” and “commercial promotion” include promotion of your own business as well as others’ businesses. A persistent focus on a particular merchant, listing, product, service, or commercial website is also considered “advertising” or “commercial promotion.” A “commercial website” is a website where you can buy, sell, or trade any product or service.
We expressly prohibit posts that enable, encourage, or instruct others to leave Second Life, the Xstreet SL marketplace, or any Linden Lab property so that they can sell, buy, or trade on non-Linden Lab websites, virtual worlds, or online services that include the sale or trade of products or services. Included in this prohibition are posts promoting or advertising to buy, sell, or trade outside a Linden Lab property (such as Second Life or the Xstreet SL marketplace), and posts linking to websites that include offers to trade, sell, or purchase outside a Linden Lab property.
Exceptions:
Exceptions for Designated Commerce Forums: In the Commerce forums titled “List your products,” “Services for Second Life,” “Help wanted,” and “Work wanted,” you may advertise or promote your own products and services for Second Life, your stores within Second Life, and your Xstreet SL marketplace listings, provided that you do not advertise or promote any sale, purchase, or trade outside a Linden Lab property (such as Second Life or the Xstreet SL marketplace), and you do not link to websites that include offers to trade, sell, or purchase outside a Linden Lab property. If you’re posting to these designated Commerce forums, you may use SLurl links to your inworld stores or links to your marketplace listings on the Xstreet SL website, as well as links to your personal website, so long as the website does not include any offers to trade, sell, or purchase outside a Linden Lab property as described above.
Exceptions for Profiles and Signatures: The purpose of the Second Life web profile and signature text is to tell others something about you and your posts that they will find interesting, pleasant, funny, thoughtful, or helpful. The profile and signature are not for advertising or commercial promotion. However, you may include in your profile photo your company logo or the name of your business. You may also associate tags with your profile, and your tag may be the name of your business inworld or on Xstreet SL. In your signature text, you may include your business name, SLurl links to your inworld stores, links to your Xstreet SL marketplace listings, as well as links to your personal website, so long as the website does not include any offers to trade, sell, or purchase outside a Linden Lab property as described above. Specifically: "...you may advertise or promote your own products and services for Second Life, your stores within Second Life, and your Xstreet SL marketplace listings, provided that you do not advertise or promote any sale, purchase, or trade outside a Linden Lab property (such as Second Life or the Xstreet SL marketplace), and you do not link to websites that include offers to trade, sell, or purchase outside a Linden Lab property. " That means I can't even direct people to my own website where I describe the services that I offer in building and designing sims, as a Registered SL Solutions Provider! Talk about monopolistic Bull****!

First of all, thanks Pep for a really good thread. I'd been thinking about my last post, but of course one can't know what one's last post will be!
Thanks for making a place for them.
This is what I'd say:
I made friends in Second Life before I even heard of these forums, but the overwhelming number of my friends and acquaintances I've met because of having been here, where I've posted stupid things, asked for help, and tried to give help.
It's been my way of connecting when I can't get inworld, and I loved it for that.
Thanks to all of you who chatted with me here and answered my questions and especially to those of you I got to know avatar-to-avatar.
So much of my SL experience is different because of this: I have a nice cottage on a lovely sim with amazing neighbors. I feel like I know what's going on, at least in a general sense, in SL. I learned how to make shapes (thanks, Briana, for that controversial thread!). My SL experience wouldn't be as rich and people-filled if it wasn't for these Forums.
I've come to terms with LL's desire to have a less personal forum, one that appeals to big guys with money. They want a forum that just gives answers, not one that panders to my social needs. I'm sure they realize that I'm a big girl; that I can take care of those things myself. It's the corporations that need the hand-holding. They really do.
I'm not trying to be funny; it's just the truth.
I'm even grateful to the people who made me angry here and insulted both me and people I admire, because it brought out good things in good people and gave us a chance to see how we value each other.
You're probably lucky you can't see me in RL, because I'm crying as I write this. Sorry!
I've sometimes had the thought that SL itself could disappear one day, and that nothing truly like it ever takes its place. It could easily happen. So I mean to enjoy it while it's here.
Just as I did these Forums.
I won't be a part of the new blog-forums. I can't make myself go there. I've tried, but I can't even look at the pages; they hurt my eyes. And they are not for me, in any sense.
I hope that most of us - maybe even all of us - can find each other in one of the alternative forums, the ones that realize that community is not only about answering questions, but is also about making friends.
big hugs to all of you!
.

Wait... what?? the forums are going away? Well, yeah. I was looking for SL Blog post about it, but didn't find it yet. (Not an easy site to find things on!) It was announced a while back that this was going to be replaced with "SL Answers" which is currently a part of the LL blogs. They will make these forums readonly. The reason it's returned as an issue is that they just killed the XStreetSL forums and replaced it with part of SL Answers. So, you know, the question is when, not if. .
