Anyone care to clue me in on any of the following?
What is going on with the in game transaction history (mine refuses to ever load)?
How can there be a viewer release and no downtime?

Please not another landbot thread. There are so many already to choose from, just on this page, let's not do this again.

As for the in world transaction history - it's gone now. You'll have to use the web-based one. _____________________

What in blue blazes is a Land Bot? In world transaction history was removed. They now have test viewers called FirstLook viewers that are able to connect to the main grid alongside the official client viewer. *doesn't even touch the land bot issue.* |

in -game transaction histories have gone the way of ratings stipends bonuses and dwell payments.
Client side change only - in the old days they just released a new veiwer on us and we didnt get the fanfaire. Remember the "You do not need this update to access Secondlife but it is recomended for performance and stability" A striped down automated client that allows an account to search and buy land without the owner having to directly control the avatar's actions. Generally landbot owners run several at the same time and these automatically gobble and flip land within their teir constraints. |

online pop: 20-25K average -low- anymore; 30k usually; 35-37k often with occassional 40K+ spikes. downsides: irritable tps and inventory exchanges and oh, just about everything else that can be affected by lag.

I was not trying to start a new landbot thread just a short concise definition of what one is. Much appreciated. |

Anyone care to clue me in on any of the following? What is going on with the in game transaction history (mine refuses to ever load)? How can there be a viewer release and no downtime? What in blue blazes is a Land Bot? 1. The transaction history is in its apathetic, goth phase. Someday it will grow up and get responsible, but for now, consider it 100% worthless to society, at least for the forseeable future. 2. Consider it a viewer escape, rather than a release. Occasionally they get loose into the wild, until driven back by angry villagers beating on pots and pans with sticks. Or forum posts. 3. A Land Bot is the quintessential remaining daemon that remains, when you strip all the humanity away from a Land Trader. Usually it is self-inflicted, and I've heard (rumour only) that there is a little dark ceremony that goes along with it. Supposedly you enter this sort of dark netherverse like the Nazgul; where you are invisible yourself but can see this eerie landscape of land prices, and $L looks like real paper money. You are very, very powerful and can only be slain by a true appointed heir of Philip Rosedale. _____________________

Anyone care to clue me in on any of the following? What is going on with the in game transaction history (mine refuses to ever load)? How can there be a viewer release and no downtime? The transaction history is no longer available in-world; you can only get it from the web site. The 1.13.3.2 viewer still has the command that attempts to get it, but the servers don't answer any more. First Look viewers and the 1.14.0.0 viewer that was released today don't attempt to do the in-world thing; the menu option for account history takes you to the web site. The reason we can now have a viewer update with no downtime is that LL has done some work to decouple the server and viewer versions. That being said, there will probably be some future times when viewer updates are not optional; if they find a need to make a core change to the protocol, or if there is a security problem related to the viewer. |
