These are NOT children. They are adults behind the k/b. Period.

So if someone wishes to rp a child avi explorer come into our house while my SO and I are doing our thing, I'll wave, say hello and ask if they brought popcorn for the show. Because I know its really a adult and nothing I am doing is truely affecting that person.

What is unacceptable is if I am FORCED to rp with the 'child' and act as if they are indeed one. Thats silly.

Looks like there are some changes on the neighbor's land. The slave auction area now has a wall that goes up about 20m (which ruins my view... but improves it at the same time), alphaede on the opposite side. No changes yet on the opposite side, but I will assume that may be in the works.

Also, cuz I saw someone posted a SLURL over there -- please don't harass them on my behalf if ya can? I do hafta live next door, and dun wanna end up in some sort of war, kay?

Click on it. It'll take you the the slurl web mappy thingy, which will offer a button you can click on. When you do that it'll fire up the SL client and you'll log in there.

I think that its possible to condemn something as broadly offensive as bestiality while at the same time not interfering with the liberty of consenting adults to conduct themselves as they see fit behind closed doors. This is not being judgmental, it is simply acknowledging that there is a definite line that can be crossed between liberty and indecency and any form of bestiality going on in the open without question crosses this line in polite society, even as it relates to this incident in SL.

I think its very appropriate for people to be outraged by this sort of thing happening out
in the open, particularly liberal minded people who value their liberty and freedom. This is a flagrant abuse of freedom and an insult to those who conduct themselves in a responsible manner. Bestiality itself is considered universally unacceptable for reasons that require no explanation. It seems to be the last sexual boundary that hasn't been crossed and I think it should stay that way and certainly not lumped in with other legitimate sexual liberties that people have fought to gain acceptance for, and certainly should not be tolerated in public. (the line has to be drawn somewhere doesn't it?)

I am all for personal liberties but common sense says that to have this sort of behavior going on out in the open or to defend it and contribute to its normalization clearly crosses the line, (and is counterproductive in defending personal liberties) just as it would cross the line to involve yourself with the private affairs of others regarding sexual matters or to seek out people who engage in bestiality and harass them.

This is true and thats why i would be against going into other people's business and persecuting them for what they choose to be interested in no matter how vile and disgusting, like searching someone's computer and putting them in prison for thinking about bestiality, which I am sure has happened somewhere. But on SL there is a clear depiction of this behavior and its still completely inappropriate and should not be tolerated in the open. It only serves to marginalize some of the legitimate perversions that we all like to engage in from time to time and makes it harder to defend our liberties.

you start this thread and complain about what other grown adults do on their own parcel (when you have the ability to mute them and build walls, carry on with your life without making a big issue of it) you post your updates, inciting the anger of all the conservatives on this forum (who are making personal attacks and long winded speeches, biblical quotes even), then you go to Linden governance meeting and complain about your neighbors there as well. (i didnt attend but i heard ALL about it after by people laughing at your expense) and if i heard you right you even brought a Linden over to check out your neighbors parcel.

Youre not fooling anyone Mari. asking people not to harass your neighbors, after all your efforts to paint them as villains, is the most comical statement ive ever read from you. i know you think that being an sl kid will protect you from this type of confrontation. but youre a grown adult. what youre doing is wrong. not only are you creating unnecessary problems for your neighbors, who probably dont have the first clue about your fixation with their little farm/slave post. but you are also doing a huge disservice to the entire sl kid population in sl. Drawing negative attention to the age play community with your childish antics.

Swan, what the hell are you talking about? Mari didn't paint anyone as anything. She asked for advice regarding something she was uncomfortable about, and she gave updates because people asked. The chaos of this thread had NOTHING to do with her.

Mari is one of the kindest, most reasonable people on this forum, and there was no call to attack her like that.

yes she is inciting all kinds of trouble. none of it wouldve been an issue if she didnt make it one. you know its true. no one was threatening her at all.

I know no such thing. As a child av, that sort of thing has the potential to place Mari in a more precarious position than it might you or I. And Mari is the LAST person I would ever accuse of trying to incite trouble.

no way! the entire matter didnt need brought to anyone's attention unless it became an issue directly to Mari. all she had to do was build walls or mute or use a security orb, any number of things she could have done to handle the situation without turning it into a huge drama.

but not only did she not do anything proactive to fix the situation, she made it into an enormous issue when it didnt have to be an issue at all. she even complained at a governance meeting! she even brought a Linden to the property! w t f.

you need to stop talking about Mari as if she is untouchable.

You're wasting time and effort on a case that is probably best shrugged off and left alone. The truth is here in the thread and anyone with half a brain can see she doesn't need defending

Any resident is entitled to ask for any advice on this forum regarding Second Life and their enjoyment of it.

i refrain from offering an opinion on her motives. i dont judge people the way sooo many others on this forum does. however, regardless of motive or intent, what she is doing is more harm the helpful. if she claims her intent is to define the rules, i will laugh. the rules are clearly defined. she had no reason to expect backlash because of her neighbors.

Regardless, it was her choice to live on a mature parcel. of course she says its not her fault, her parents like to have lovings. so if her parents like to have lovings and she can tolerate living around that, then why cant she show the same tolerance for her neighbors? its hypocrisy. sl kids should be treated the same as adults outside of rp because guess what? they are adults. and i wish this one would act like one.

I am not trying to make a point. I am stating a fact. This forum is for the residents of Second Life to ask for advice regarding their use of Second Life.
