Sorry!! no-chirasu for nautilus! chirasu would be sprinkled, doh!

Cool... so NOCHIRASUSHITI = No-Chirasu Shiti, = Nautilus City. But what about the first part of MAZERANNOCHIRASU? And I wonder why the names are Japanese? Is that just the result of using a translator in that complicated way?

Mazeran is Magellan, so Magellan Nautlus. Did the translator glue those together accidentally, or is the pairing significant?

Yah, I think Elcano put his words into a translator 2 times, English to Japanese and back again.

Maybe Magellan thought it should be called that, since he discovered it? :D

Our instruments detect no harmful or metamorphic radiation in the new lands..

Count me with the crowd that things there may still be some instablility in the area.

With just one other person here, both of us just sitting around, Mysehi was struggling to get over 20 sim fps for about 5 minutes - I think this is the one that was giving me expired region handoffs last night, too.. Seems ok now but there's a few regions here that I think Magellans bottles leaked into..

Maybe someone here can help, just earlier today I was exploring to the west of the new lands and discovered what I thought was just an oil rig. Didn't think much of it until I came across this picture...

So, being curious, I decided to go back and explore it more. But, I can't find it again :( I thought I was looking around de Grasse, but I could be wrong.

Anyone know which region it's located in? My friend and I have searched for over an hour now.

Between this and the hidden avatar (green dot, but no avatar there) this is becoming a very confusing but fun place :)

EDIT: Nevermind, I was totally on the wrong side of the land :)

Arcane, that platform is in the Weiland region and should be right about here:

http://slurl.com/secondlife/Weiland/120/25/24

on the Lindens' satellite map.

p.s. My turn. Nevermind. I see you figured it out! S.J.

It was a photo provided by a Mole to a Linden, if memory serves.

I wish I knew why there was a trolley in the waters near there.

"...Brother found a sub in the water, too. It did not seem to work. Who brought it out here? And what of that strange, rusted SLRR trolley? It's not at all like any of the trolleys I've seen before on any of th' lines..."

The sub must be working, because I saw it elsewhere.

inside the sub:

Oh, and if you happen to wander across this sub here:
, don't be excited, it is just me.

Like Meade said, not the Souther continent of Jeogeot, but the "other" southern continent -- the one I hope somoene can uncover the proper name of. :-)

Quotin myself, because I noted it was officially referred to as Satori, as per resident choice in these forums. I noted it yesterday evening on http://wiki.secondlife.com/wiki/Nautilus_City_investigation

"The Nautilus and Satori continents link on the west with water regions."

I had seen th' other dolphin submarine under the dolphin temple. It doesn't look like there was enough room for both of them to be docked down there, though. Not sure where the second came from, exactly, or who used it last.

Also, did I mention that Elcano Swashbuckler is still an active account?

I have about 300 (give or take 200) pictures from in the sea, and I did not see that other sub, nor the hidden room. Nor a trolley. Did see the mound where the machine drilled into the seabed, but didn't take a picture of it, I don't think. Granted, I didn't look at the northern part, nor explored as much as I could, underwater, of the eastern sea. Just western sea and southern sea.

I covered a lot of the seabed th' other night, an Mister Hawks pointed me in th' direction of th' trolley. Still lots I ain't seen yes, especially in the Bingo Straight.

It occurs to me that there might be some, lurking on this thread, who are concerned about the injunctions against, and stiff penalties for, the unsanctioned gridding of Void into regions. I speak here as a private resident of Second Life, not as a Linden, and wish to express some relevant points that I'm sure would surface in any inquiry.

1. Technically speaking, the gridding of the Nautilean subcontinent occurred long ago, during the time the main continent of Nautilus was emerging from the Void. Only the invisibility shield (still not understood, but whose existence is accepted) prevented these regions from showing.
2. It is well within the provenance of any Linden or estate manager to delete region wide griefing objects, such as 256m2 megaprims, which impair or deny access to the normal resident use of a region.
3.The case that removing or inactivating objects that deny access to a region was a beneficial action would be strengthened if, following soon upon that removal, residents began active use of that region for creation, business, homes, and social activity.

I hope that anyone out there, perhaps fearful of consequences from the dramatic and sudden appearance of Nautilus City, will reconsider such concerns in light of these points.

There terrain around this area does not seem stable. While exploring the water to the southeast of the newly found are I discovered artifacts that appear to be from the island itself in an area that it seems was not thought to be part of the new find. This is way out in the middle of the Bingo Strait. I also discovered something new that seems to have been uncovered to the NNW of the main canal entrance.

Ya, there seems to be a great many artifacts in the Bingo Strait. I took a long look around those waters, but there is so, so much unseen. Most of it I bet no one has laid eyes on since the shield went up, if not ages before that.

/me too!

I'm not sure what we can do to lure Magellan here. Is there a forums smiley for a bottle of whiskey? I suspect Elcano will be beyond temptation until his paranoia notches down a few steps..

Is that what this is? I thought it was a dormant volcano :)

I thought it was a dormant volcano until I recalled, maybe with faulty memory, that it was nearish to the floating really wobby barge. And the vehicle is something that tunnels into the ground.

Yep, very close to the barge. And yeah, they really need to stabilize their barges in the future, a safety hazard I tell ya :)

I wonder if anyone has tried to contact Elcano inworld? Not sure if he'd be responsive to anyone. I'm sure my ties to the newspaper would keep me well outta arm's reach from him.

As f'r Magellan... I worry he might be out of reach of the forums. He might not even be in this time, for all we know!

Speaking of... did anyone notice those curious red amphora near th' sea port?

And everybody elses!!

/me wants to test the "Set Owner To Me" option I've seen lurking in the viewer. That and I know somebody who has an annoying neighbor - maybe a little reclaim action would be in order..

(yes, I know LL has strict rules on playing with god-mode tools on the production grid.. just jokin' around, Periapse!!)

I've been wonderin a lot about all the ruins below th' sea, too. Certainly a lot of th' island was lots to someting a long time ago. Lots of buildings an statues an stuff out there!

An I'm also a little concerned about th' bubbles bubblin up from below th' big harbor in th' middle of th' citadel. Dun that usually mean sometin bad?

Evidence of an active volcano.
