Home, in case of accidents. I went against that predilection a couple of weekends ago and of course managed to take my shirt off while putting an (open) jacket on in a store. I know they're just pixels, but I really prefer not to flash complete strangers.

I am bumping you to an 8.5 on the Official Trout Measuring Instrument of Sluttiness. You are an enigma - on the one hand a sweet, gentle, intelligent woman who we would like to wrap up in our arms and protect, and on the other, a temptress to whom we would like to do all sorts of unmentionable things.

Congratulations and shame on you! You are a bit of a slut.

Something I've worn before I'll swap in place since there aren't any surprises. If it's a new outfit i'll retreat to my own space where I can squizzle prims into place without people walking in the way, or learn that those "pants" are an unexpected part.

inventory right click>wear... so easy and I laugh at the ones that "go underwater" to change, first its a AV not you, second there is no need to remove all your clothes, and I think if your layering so much stuff on that you may forget to change your under pants its not like they are really dirty!

Well, speaking for myself, I only go under water so as not to be in any body's way when going through multiple changes after a shopping spree. I'll go through each item to adjust it to my shape, then file them in the appropriate folder, make copies, etc. If I've purchased multiple avatars, I don't necessarily want an audience, or IMs and comments. It's just not the time for typing. I suppose I could go to a sandbox, but I prefer the 'quiet' of the ocean.

I like to consider those around me. Especially when I am in a public space. Not everyone uses SL in the same way, and seeing an avatar go through many changes - sometimes in 'edit appearance' mode, ruins their RP. It has nothing to do with shyness.

For any major clothign changes, I'll go home or change in my workshop. It means being in a relatively secluded area away from others (at least others I don't know well) where I can change in peace. That way, too, if the system decided to crash or somethign else happens, I dun need to worry about being partially dressed or soemthing in some public space.

Mind you, I also do tend to to the replace clothing, versus stripping down.

When I log in, I always start at home, and there is where I decide what I will wear that day, generally; so in that sense, I change at home. If I feel some compelling need to change while I'm hanging out somewhere, I usually fly up a couple hundred feet and change there. Although I do the drag-folder-to-myself thing to change, I do not trust the "instant clothes-change" business in front of people, because I've seen people ruthed when they looked just fine to themselves, and I myself have been stuck in an animation which I couldn't see, but everybody else could. So, just because I look fine to me, doesn't mean I look fine to everyone else. And, being who I am in SL, getting seen naked is a bit more hazardous for me than for most of you-all.

If I need to do something drastic, like change my av to something unusual, I almost always TP home to do it. All my alternate-avs are many-attachment things, and the attachments don't all appear instantaneously, and the AOs don't kick in instantaneously either, and usually I look pretty ghastly while I'm in that transitionary stage.

Like most here, I also add outfit wherever I am, especially before going to a new venue to be appropriate to whatever is going on there of course. :) Home is good if I don't know what I want to wear, and I'll often change before logging out or right when logging in.

I haven't seen anyone mention not changing right before TPing? That's what apparently used to cause Missing Images. So if I do that, I'll rebake right after landing. Funny how bugs change our habits. :p

Appearance or pose stands? Almost never use them until I want to tint something (which I do often). I color change everything and mix and match outfits as separates all the time.

I never use a pose stand, I simply play a frozen pose locally so I can position things while everyone else continues to see me dancing... ;)

I never understood it myself.

I just right click, replace, changed. No hiding needed.

Modesty among pixel people is kinda weird.

I usually get dressed for the day right after logging in, which is at home. Sometimes I will change for an event after that and almost always go home or somewhere semi-private to do it.

Same for me. Something embarrassing usually happens when I change in publick, just lucky that way.
Yes, I've had too many times where clothes just don't seem to rez right and most times it happens when I decide to change in public. Occassionally, I will still chance it, but not often.

I'm not at all embarassed about being naked in public, as long as it's in a mature area and I'm intending to be naked! . But I do get embarrassed about being seen changing, with all the unpredictable visual effects. I do have a body barrel I can wear when I'm changing but I don't often use it.

So normally I change at home. But if I'm changing, or even stripping off, at a public venue I usually take myself off behind a potted plant or something to give myself a chance to re-rez properly.

Recently, when changing into a specific outfit (A bunny outfit, complete with ears and tail.. almost playboyish) I've been wearing my giant top hat (I normally wear a normal sized tophat, this one is 7m tall or so, and covers me) until I'm changed... it just makes sense in my mind ;)

Home for the most part. Dont know why but every nite before I log off I change into my pajamas and bunny slippers. Every morning before I go to work I come on change into the days clothes and check things out.

For me it is safer, cause I have grabbed the wrong clothing before or it takes time to rezz. And yes I know it is "just" pixels as one put it but like another said I dont do it in public in RL wont do it in SL for changing clothes.

I am far from being modest, but i change at home. I had so many people tell me it was extremely rude to change in public when i started that i just don't do it.

I always change at home. I mix and match too much to be out in public while i'm deciding which skirt to wear :) And, like Bec, I enjoy changing into my Cookie Monster PJs when I can before logging off at night.

I would never consider leaving or even walking away before changing clothes. It's those people who don't know how to replace clothing items, or feel they have to undress first to put on a new outfit that get fussy about changing in public. If I screw up, or SL screws up and someone gets a momentary peep show from it.. oh well, hope it was good for ya :p

I know a few people at the club I usually go to that MUST leave when changing outfits... it's kind of a joke really. Presumably it's to make some kind of grand fashion entrance when they return, or they have a real hang up about someone possibly seeing them with parts of non-matching outfits on when halfway done changing  zomg

Now if you're talking about where I unpack vendor boxes, try on stuff for the first time, or edit clothes or attachments, then that would be at my house... out of courtesy for others mostly. Sometimes I think I'm told I'm a great neighbor because I do this on my balcony most of the time and my male neighbors like to watch lmao. Again.. hope it was good for ya. I may be socially shy, but I'm proud of the work I've put into my AV's shape, skin, etc.. and nudity, even the public variety, doesn't bother me at all really. It's one of the reasons I have a hard time understanding why others can get so unraveled about someone possibly getting a peek when they change. I dunno...

In my last Bored out of my Skull episode- before so many kind people gave me suggestions- I discovered my inventory was in woeful need of arranging... so since then I take a little time each day to put something somewhere it will make sense.

I have made "Outfit Folders" not just the usual, Dresses, Pants, Jewelery , Hair what have you - but full dressed avies. The Faery and the Deamoness each have their own file with all the attending accessories - wand, tail wings, hors or antennae, etc. Then when I want to change into a particular look I just click the folder and if Add to or Replace- depending what is in it and how much time I have.

I usually dress at home also- and usually first thing in the morning before I leave for RL work -yes obsessed - I know :)

Uh, no.

Who said 'unraveled'? It's a preference, that's all.

Aside from not being inclined to flash, I also don't like being seen blurry and odd mid-change. I've worked hard on my av too and, while I can't control every little borky thing SL does, I can attempt to minimize the way it affects Ann's appearance to the best of my ability.

I too have a series of comprehensive outfit folders too that include clothes, jewellery, hair style, walk AO and shape too. The reason I have shapes in each folder is so I can use a shape with narrower hip settings and flatter butt with skirts and dresses to compensate for poofiness. Nobody sees the change and it works well except on minis, where I use my normal shape.

Considering you may be changing species as well as clothes, I can see where you will need more than a quick folder swap on the fly to change :)
