Well, if I needed an example of over-emotional over-reaction that would do just fine. You could have put me on ignore, or set options to omit images, or wait until everyone else stopped posting lolcats which offended me just as much, but instead you gave up something you had presumably hitherto enjoyed. Have you learned something about yourself as a consequence? There's your mirror.

Telepathy is not a great basis for argument.

Pep (I am not responsible for what you think or feel)

Oh, Pep! You're being too easy!

I can admit to being over-emotional and over-reacting. If you call me hysterical, I can scream on cue.

But...

- If *I* could have ignored images, why couldn't you?

- *I* was over-reacting and over-emotional, but the man posting pictures of dead and mutilated animals was not?

- You're not responsible for my feelings, but didn"t you post the pictures to evoke a feeling of revulsion?

I actually thought there would be one or two of you who would plead my case to my partner and ask for mercy for me. No, I am serious.
Since you gave us the news that you won't be posting here, your frequency of posting has increased by 35%.

All kidding aside, you are addicted to this forum. A large part of your SL experience is centered around starting threads and getting people's reaction to them. You are showing that you have no control over it and no true intention of stopping. I would confess this to your partner and see if it's a deal breaker.

Certainly, but in some relationships the power exchange aspects are highly significant and may involve very specific behavioural patterns - much more so than in others, where power exchange is more low key.

No need to explain to him: Pep only *pretended* to not understand my meaning as an excuse to be an asshole and a troll. Again.

More emotional expletives in lieu of intelligent comment, eh? :p

Pep (That's the trouble when I point out your inadequacies, I suppose; you have nowhere to go. ;) )

Yes Pep, I have many inadequacies. We all do. But that's besides my point, which is, you're posting like an asshole again. Try to focus, OK?

Ok, this is dime-store psychologizing, of the sort that one might expect from someone who has just finished reading that 4 page article in "Psychology Today," or a text panel entitled "Electra Complex" in "Psychology for Dummies."
I don't read that sort of crap I leave it (and the women's magazines) to my wife. I just understand people; you can't press as many buttons in the forums as I do with being insightful. ;) Jig has even grudgingly admitted the accuracy of my analysis - NOT psychoanalysis - and I have read a lot more of her posts than you have, or than most have in the forums, on which to base my assessment!

From: Scylla Rhiadra
People just aren't that simple or predictable.
I find I do pretty well, in rl and here. Hell, I even win at Blankety Blank and Family Fortunes!

From: Scylla Rhiadra
I can guarantee that Jig isn't, certainly. What's more, you cannot possibly know, on the basis of what you have to go on, the full complexities of her relationship with her partner, or what motivates her. The BEST that you can do here is make some tentative observations about her self-presentation, about her "persona" if you will.
Of course. But I seem to have got pretty close to the mark, by her own acknowledgement, and it is a lot more rational (and unemotional :p ) than most of the other posts here having a pop at her behaviour.

From: Scylla Rhiadra
Pep, I am disappointed. I expect better from you. You of all people should be able to acknowledge complexity!
Of course I acknowledge it; My post was among the longest I have ever made, as I know people get *very* bored with long diatribes, especially ones with no jokes in them. :D

Pep (does not intend to write his thesis on Jig; he is too busy writing the screenplay entitled "A funny thing happened on my way to the forum". )

PS I am still waiting for something (*anything*) coherent from Love. I won't hold my breath.

I took action (rational, not emotional) against what I disliked. You chose inaction.

Pep (I didn't post the images to evoke any feelings in *you*; *you* are responsible for that reaction.)

I was an AG once upon a time and I had lots of CGs. Regretably, he was heavily into AF and now I'm on DF. ;)

a wee bit broad....but some very clear similarities at the core. I would point out the most blatant one....but then you would take the Me, Me, Me Thread away from Jig.....and make it yours. ooops...that sort of slipped out while giving the example.
