The fundemental problem with this argument is that stuff in SL is imaginary, well if I can see it, you can see it and 200,000 other people can see it, I have a problem with the definaition of imaginary. As a consumer in SL, all I eventually care about is how much money goes out of my bank account and how much enjoyment I have at the computer. I don't particularly care who the money goes to. Nor do I care about how the economic "realities" have to work because as a consumer there's nothing in it for me. This is the solid issue you do not face.

Oh you are talking about the contract that premium users and Linden Labs? In exchange for our money we were promised 3 things. The ability to own land, 512sq meters of land before paying tier and L$500 a week as spending money. Of course they never said that the money was made out of nothing. My only problem with taking away stipends is that we paid for them. Now if Linden Labs would buy the Lindens or give us something of equal value I would be happy. About buying things, I dont really need anything now. I am a person of simple tastes. You can say I have a soba taste on a steak budget!

I do face it. You don't care to participate in making your own life better by seeing how you fit into the scheme of things.

If stipends are to be changed the the only responsible way to do so would be to offer the new cojntract at renewal time and see how the market reacts.

All markets change, it is important that we all adapt to them as best we can, making sure we both get the vaule we have earned and give the value nessesary to earn what we do get.
