i dont really practice Pixel sex anymore although i did during the first couple of months in my SL life. Been there .....done it.....moved on!
I think its silly even suggesting to ban it, where do you stop? Would Goreans, Vamps, Goth, BDSM, furries, child/teen AV's be next on the hit list?
This politcally correct society real s#cks.....where is our freedom of choice.? Much of that has been taken away from us in RL....now we're trying to carbon copy that enviroment into Cyber world too!

From: Annie Malaprop Anyone else find it interesting that this poll/thread is still active, while the one I opened this afternoon (about whether people want LL/SL to be sold) was closed very quickly (for being "off-topic" ?. You were probably too close to the mark and more than you realised!!. If i was a betting man, i would say something is already in the pipeline

For all we say and do cyber sex (pixil sex to some) is going to be the bone of contention for any company that is going to purchase SL. But, more importantly, I fear for the artists who are using SL as a means to promote their endeavours and their new ideas. Nudity in art, cutting edge topics, anti-censorship will all be subject to a "bonfire of the vanities" as a major corporation moves in and glosses over everything. Personally, I see it happening each day I am on SL. There are snide remarks about the edginess of the past SL - yeah Gor is a crazy place but Goreans have been good to me. Even reading these web comments tends to lead to a "I did it once - I don't do it now" syndrome. So many people have not "done it" according to these blogs that it is a wonder so many people voted for "it". The point is that if sex is disapproved of (rather than disallowed) it will still take place but only in the "bedrooms of SL" and only with avatars wearing nightshirts and shutting their eyes. Oh, and this is just a comment, but would be interested to hear other opinions.

If you dont like it then dont goto sex oriented places in other words mind your business to put it bluntly , i am so sick of the world so worried about what everyone else is doing , whent hey cant even take care of thereselfs, also LL should be held accountable in my eyes its there software, hardware they should be the ones checking ages! they did in the past! they have a teen grid force them to use it and get rid of instant accounts with emails!!! SO people can continue to create hundred of alternates with generic Email Address , geeze i wonder why there having DATABASE ISSUES THEY HAVE OVER 500K OR MORE ACCOUNTS CAMPING festival latly thats all SL has turned into is a camp o rama for measly 1 linden per 8 mins

Do I cyber? Yes...multiple times per week with my sl bf, because we like it and we do it in "private" in our bedroom. Imho sex will never be banned from sl, for reasons already stated in this thread...sex sells..period. Mandy C

If they are even thinking about removeing any type of mature content from Second Life i am moveing on. I've enjoyed this "Fantasy World" alot and put up with alot of problems in SL due to the down times, the bugs, the glitchs and such and kept on paying and playing happily. IF they start censoring any type of adult content I and many others will leave. Its a mature Fantasy World. Only one of its kind i know of . If they want cyber sex, pixel sex out of it, then create a PG version and try to sell it . I am not in SL to cyber , there is much much more creative things to do in this world. But if i did want to romance and be fully happy in sexual content activity I am happy to know its there. This is a Fantasy World where everyones "fantasy" should be available to them on any level.

Mandy C Maybe they need to find a better partner. I too find the sexual side of SL surprisingly enjoyable. It can't replace the real thing for me, but here I am exploring sides that have been suppressed in RL, for a variety of reasons. Some I may try in RL, but in any event, it is a part of my total experience. And i agree that it's being done by a lot moe than will admit to, from the "I tried it once" crowd to those who "Don't do it, but don't care what others do" group. But it is something that should be done privately or in areas specifically set aside for it. Trying to ban it would be ridiculous.

My thoughts exactly, and yes I tried things in SL I wouldn't normally do in RL....although I have to say I'm pretty openminded. And yes, in private or if you like roleplay in whatever form..in those areas ment for that. Mandy C

Brief comment from one of the never-do-cybersex-but-voted-no crowd. I'm all in favor of sex, and all for cybersex for those who need or want it. I don't participate for one major (for me) reason: You know what the other avatar is, but you don't know what the person behind the other avatar is. (Unless you know them in RL, of course, but nobody I know in RL is in SL - yet.) Call me overly fussy, but that's me: I like to know who I'm having sex with.

But I generally don't even think about that in any SL interactions, sexual or not. I deal strictly avatar to avatar. No inworld relationship goes outworld.

This is a Fantasy World where everyones "fantasy" should be available to them on any level. you said it! Exactly what i think. Too clarify my "I did it before and don't do it now! quote....its not due to moral grounds. When i first started in SL it was a huge learning curve part and I had time on my hands...of which part of it was spent exploring and trying new things out. Since then i have gotten actively involved in a variety of businesses....so my focus is in that direction and have very little spare time to perform pixel sex! lol Thats not to say that i wouldn't jump on a poseball ever again.! I'm neiter prudish or try to be politically correct. ...although some things like "Child AV sex" are definite "No go" areas and should be banned full stop.! Anyway this whole debate is futile......much like drugs in RL, having sex in SL would be driven underground. I bet lots of people have sex pose balls in their inventory....so this whole aspect will be impossible to police to begin with and there are enough empty SIMs to perform this without disturbance. As animations are required and here to stay, it would be impossible to disable the ones within sex pose balls.

I think LL should ban: Pixel Sex Use of the word "Moist" Cake Any virtual food items All religious items The color purple The words "Dr" and "Phil" when used together Your aunt Jenny "Partnering" Guns Knifes Various cucumber related weaponry Anyone with a PHD Dildos Yesterday's lunch Any and all references to pop culture Clouds Clowns Theme parks annnndddddddddddd pixel babies!
If they would just ban all those things, no one would ever be offended again!

i agree..trying to ban it would be terrible..the only thing it will fix is lag because they won't have the 30,000 logged problems anymore..people will go to another media.. there is too much that will be affected..i am a dancer in sl at one of the top clubs in sl..i meet alot of great friends..i also shop to look my best i can because i love that i can.. i live a very extreme high class kind of life in sl and enjoy it very much..i buy lindens when i go on my shopping sprees that are around 50k a shoping spree when i find a designer i like..take away my wanting to feel and look desirable and i will not be shopping to look that way anymore..i would have no reason to lease a sim that me and one other reside in together. i would have no reason to protect my land with the weapons i love to buy.i won't have a reason to tip other dancers in other clubs or dj's or whoever is making thier money out of tip jars because they would not be there anymore in those clubs.. dances i spend thousands on and my inventory is probably worth over 3k alone in us dollars and still growing..i know that is not much to some but i don't build i shop and love clothes and want to buy everything i see that i feel makes me feel good and i escape my rl doing the things i love to do in sl..take away my escape and i will escape elsewhere and so will many others that i happen to know feel more than the same as i do..it is alot of people ..i am probably in one of the best jobs in sl for meeting different people everyday in big amounts.. and so is the girl or guy right next to me and to him or her on down the line..
we are not some industry that is all just about sex but we are about enjoyment..we also know that if something like this would be passed..well alot of things will be affected for us because we would fall under the rules aswell.. we do make alot of money and we do spend it in the stores when we are not up there making it.. it would be a shame to see what i love about my sl gone..i don't dance in the clubs because of the money..i have plenty of that i can bring in from rl to do my shopping or whatever i need..i do love meeting the people and having great conversations with them everyday.. i would hate for some rule about something else coming in and taking away alot of the things that i think make sl a beautiful place to escape to..make it a disneyland like they did lasvegas and that is what you will get..a place for the norman rockwell types from the 1950's painting thier white picket fences and watching julie andrews in the sound of music.. meanwhile the freewilled will be looking for another place to enjoy thier freedom from rl..
most rules like this are passed by people that never take the time to look into alot of the areas that would be affected..it's a protect my rights while i trample on yours type of thinking..i'm American and that kind of thinking has really turned the U.S into the crapheep it is now.. the U.S brags of freedom while they hand it over in little pieces or forces it down others throats that don't want it.. a good rule of thumb is to remember..you have the right to go there or you have the right to stay out of there..just because people walk into a sim and say omg this is bad doesn't mean omg i need to do something about this because in my opinion this is bad..well what is one persons trash is another persons treasure.. just don't throw out something that you may want to keep..make sure that rule is not gonna come back into your little world in some small way and make you think..omg this is so unfair..remember that day you walked into that sim and said omg this is bad..
