 . And we've been friends through a couple of mmorpgs and in years longer than most of my rl friends . I'm not interested in online dating, even in a roll playing sense so in part it's sort of a statement that I'm not available. that's only a little part though. In TSO we actually built a chappel and had a ceremony and got married, but since then Ariel got married irl and sl is just a little too real to do that in good taste, at least to me. Even so it is sort of a pledge I guess. I've never really defined our relationship in words. We just get along better than anybody has a right to . hehe, that probably has something to do with Ariel being extremely tolerant , but it seems to work ._____________________

Seriously why only ONE?! Who can really say they are happy with just ONE? I want my partners box to have a DROP DOWN MENU I was sort of wondering the same thing. If we're supposed to be using SL to experiment and define new kinds of lives, or economies or brave new worlds, etc., why only one partner? Or why any built-in restrictions at all? I wondered whether this implied an unconscious assumption on LL's part about how relationships should be. Just thinking beyond the (drop down) box. I'm not implying anything about myself, either. |

Its a bit odd, but lilone and I are r/l lovers/soulmates, yet we don't usually stomp around SL as a couple. She has her own interests, as do I, and they don't coincide a whole helluva lot. I like to hang out in crowds and be both obnoxious and humorous. She'd rather just build and show and hang within her circle of friends.

Together we are known as Doobs. I used to roll my eyes at people pairing up and going all lovey dovey. I still do sometimes, because I'm a snot like that, and some pairs are just exasperating. Hehe. Nuances in SL had disgusted me to the point of quitting. But since I've been with him, it's all tolerable and all good. Great thing about this is that nothing was forced, we just mutually jumped on each other's heads. People have their own reasons for partnering up here. I have none, aside from the simple fact that I'm crazy about him. Bleh, I'm aware that sounds mushy and gooey, totally smears my street cred, but what the hell. BTW, I'm with Talen. And still available for jello wrestling. _____________________

Hmmm interesting thread. I didn't come here to find someone or cyber I came here to build and be an all around smartass Matter of fact I kinda laughed at people who were " together" or " partnered". It's funny...things always seem to happen to you when you ain't lookin. Funnier yet....it started here in the forums Here I was minding my own business spreading love through the forums ( ok maybe not in practice but in theory...ok not in theory either ) when I started to notice her posts...something struck me about them. Eventually I searched her posts out. Her words intelligent, playful,honest, and very endearing. It wasn't the pixels that got me because we had never met in world....it was her mind Eventually we met in world but I didn't dare say anything...I mean what kinda goober would do that Didn't see her after that but still she crept into my mind and I watched her posts. Eventually a few private messages were sent back and forth...nothing lurid...a link to a funny animation...a thank you for saying something nice. definately made me more curious and I started to wonder if she might feel the same way. Time passed and we started talking in world...only a lil at first but gradually more. Then one night we talked more...and it kinda came out that I liked her ( ok ...it didn't kinda come out ..I was smacked upside the head with some well timed hints) and it turned out to be a mutual feeling.We've been together for a little bit now....and yes, I sometimes still feel like a goober.....a happy goober...but a goober none the less . She makes me smile and she makes me think and that can't be a bad thing in this world or any world for that matter. Where will it lead? dunno. We're taking it slow and for once I'm enjoying the scenery and not worrying too much about the destination.Anyway, like others have stated...communication is a good thing and if you do end up meeting someone in world be honest, and be real. I also agree that in this world at least, I am who I am in the real world as well...there really isn't any seperation...except for the fact my edit menu is borked in real life and I have to go to home depot before I can rez a cube. That being said work calls and today we get to rez steel prims As for my partner in crime ...well I'll let her speak for herself if she wishes ...I'll just leave it at this....Love ya Lash Talen, you just told my story. I also came here to build and to learn scripting, and i wasn't ready at all for what i found here (even having been many years on the net...). The only difference is that for me it started in world, but after 2 or 3 times we happened to meet, she had to be off SL for about 20 days. So it went on in the forum, where I had the opportunity to know her better, and, according to what i was told, to allow her to know me better... I share your point of view, especially when you say that making someone smile and think "can't be a bad thing in this world or any world for that matter. Where will it lead? dunno. How lucky i must be in this wonderful world...
I have 2 partners; the amazing Fey Brightwillow has been my business partner for well over a year. It is a terrific working relationship. She is my friend, my partner and my confidante. And as other relationships, even a business one is not to be entered lightly. The two of us truly know the others minds at this point; we can finish each others thoughts and visualize what the other is thinking. This kind of partnership is what made the early stages of Spellbound great and enabled us to move on and have so many wonderful craftspeople join us. More recently, I have become "socially & romantically" attached to Mash Mandala. Here too is a relationship not to be entered easily. Mash is a wonderful man, we are well suited I believe, and I would love to think that we will play together for a very long time. Mash embodies every good quality I can think of in a human being; generosity, humor, and a gentle spirit. We take a risk of emotion to be together; "Life is a banquet and most poor sons of bitches are starving to death" So why not feast ? I see so many people's profiles with different partners all too often. I wonder if they really understand that being a "partner" is more than just paying a few dollars to have your names linked. RL feelings do matter, and all too many times I see people here getting hurt by those who just feel they can disappear or disentangle from someone without a second thought to the consequences. So many times anger follows hurt, and people do things that can really damage another player, both in SL and/or in RL. I would hope that people will think 20 times before doing or saying things in anger. That is my most ferverent hope for the New Year. For me, I am truly blessed by these 2 partners as well as all my other SL friends. Remember, the biggest and best partnership is the one we have all joined here together. Lets continue it to make our world a terrific place to be. _____________________

I have a few cohorts, but no partner. Not lookin' for one, either. I have a RL husband. I would consider "partnering up" in SL with someone akin to cheating. In addition, I'm pretty introverted and like my private time. Having a partner would get really annoying to me after a while. And yes, I'm also a PG avi (in terms of actions, that is - I curse like a drunken sailor). No one wants a platonic SL relationship! lol Just my two cents. I think people with SL partners are cute, tho girl u right i like being happy free ans single in sl |
