I don't know what concent is, but it is consent. If parents are so concerned why are their kids free to roam the internet and contact adults? Seem like this is all the fault of the parent, not the adult just reading their email. You are being completely unreasonable and flying off the handle as usual.

LL said it was ok for certain adults to have private conversations with minors. Hell no I’m not ok with that, anyone who thinks that it is ok for any company do decide what is safe for my child and what is not; is wrong.

Are all sex offenders listed with LL? Can LL prove to me that none of these ppl are sex offenders? No they can't because they did not run a backround check on them before they knowingly allowed these adults to talk privatly with minors.

Yes they are idle threats, Catherine, as there is absolutely nothing that you can do to me. I have not done anything wrong, so I am not remotely concerned. Do you even have kids? Your story changes so often in these forums who the hell knows.

Linden Lab was not involved in any of this to begin with. Someone voluntarily emailed me by getting my email address from my web site. I responded, realized they were a teen, and asked LL out of courtesy how they felt about the teen grid snapzilla. I did not have to - it is not illegal to speak to a minor, no matter how much you are wailing about it.

I have had all of 3 emails I think - two for password help and one about the grid itself in the first place. If you are really really concerned about this issue, you would not be making a smoke screen out of nothing.

I have gone through the horror of having a minor family member get involved with a sexual predator - I am 100% behind protecting children from them. However, what I am opposed to is a pathetic witch hunt like yours which just distracts from a real issue simply because you have something against me.

BTW, if you are so concerned about protecting your children, then remove the ability for them to email anyone freely, or to IM, or to look at web pages. If they have access to any of those things, then apparently you have put them at risk and failed as a parent by your own standards.

So your kids can't use the internet at all? How to you regulate it, how do you guarantee they don't, in other sites, come into contact with adults? How do you gurantee thier safety in every day life. How do you protect tect them from the possiblity of a metorite hitting the earth (okay, the last one is far fetched, but some humor is allowed).

Oddly enought the overwhelming majority of child abuse, even sexual happens at home by the parents and family. As one who has worked exetnsively in the juvenile legal system, i can say that protecting your kids is about educating your kids, and communicating with your kids. You can't always stop them from doing stupid things, but you can give them the tools to potentially minimze the damage from stupid things.

It is not LL place to tell adults that they can speak with minors in private chat.

Show us someone who actually does give a shit, and is not just grandstanding as usual, and perhaps people would care. It is wrong to hide behind the facade of wanting to protect children just to further your own agendas against people who are doing nothing wrong.

I am defending the rights of kids here, and the same folks who are always against what I say are yet again against me on this issue. Good to know that the minors on the teen grid will not be protected by these adults. I find that realy sad for those kids.

Ok this day is just getting weirder and weirder for me - I had two strange coincidences. The first, I was speaking to my girlfriend about the new movie Skeleton Key, and how elements of it reminded me of Serpent and the Rainbow. As I was looking up info about Serpent and the Rainbow, I was reminded of the movie the People Under the Stairs - now you mention it. Obscure movie and it comes up twice in the same day.

Also, earlier I was saying to someone that LL should have gotten secondlife.tv as the domain name for their new tv project. Then, a little while later, I had to deal with a work issue of a package that was bound for the Virgin Islands going to Tuvalu instead (aka the island that the .tv domain refers to). Again, another obscure and weird coincidence.
