function added to SL code that would completely disable all push/shoot/harass type program functions in sims not specifically designed for warfare I agree. We might have to give up a little ocassional personal entertainment on our own property to once and for all get rid of 'people' like that. I still dont understand why weapons are even allowed in SL. This is not that type of a game! I think we are getting all the kids that get their butts kicked in online games like Half-life, Doom, Medal of Honor, etc. over and over again. I guess it is much easier for them to come in here and shoot unarmed and defenseless civilians. Sorry to hear what happened Aces! I suggest LL have it's water supply tested for mind affecting substances. Their behavior has been getting rather odd lately. Either that or there is a Griefer Linden on the loose.

I'm sorry that this policy has upset you so much. There are three aspects of this incident that elevated it to the point of a three-day suspension: the first is that IM, Profiles, and other systems of Second Life that are 'global' must conform to PG standards as mature content or language in these contexts cannot be restricted to Mature regions. The second issue is the way in which you used mature language; while we don't generally take action for random or general cussing (even in PG areas), language that is directed or threating is something that we take very seriously -- this type of communication can make Second Life feel unsafe and unwelcoming. Finally, a suspension was administered in this case because this was your second violation of this particular section of the Community Standards -- you were previously warned about threatening or offensive language in January. /me wonders... if this happened in an area with self government would LL still step in and pull this type of crap? I guess we'll never know because they simply refuse to tell us what their plan of action is, other than to intermittently enforce rules and smoetimes in favor of the wrong party, as in this case. If we can't use push guns on our own land, then why are we even allowed to script it? If we can't use the freeze option, then why is it there?  _____________________

I believe I will try and spend some time these next few days, at the Welcome Area and otherwise, toting around my copy of Ulrika's protest sign with a "Free Aces" sentiment on it. I think it's going to be up to us residents to pressure the Lindens into developing a fair system of enforcement. If anyone wants a copy of the sign graphic I come up with, IM me and I'll drop one to you. If you don't have a sign, Ulrika's animated one rocks.
Personally, if I'm griefed on my land after doing everything the Linden tools allow me to do, any bad language I might use was the result of provocation and the griefer better be the one getting banned. Aces, IM me the persons name when you're back in game and I'll ban them from my island on principle Hugs! _____________________

I remember back when I was a couple weeks old, you can be pretty brutal lol.. I think we both had a hand in being brutal i really thought this griefer was patched or something he kept comming back after i banned him, placing objects on my land i musta banned and froze him 30 times or more he still came at me..in the meanwhile i was filing an abuse report on him and pushing him away from me_____________________
