I have been Suspended

To all my friends
i am suspended for 3 days from Second life for reporting a griefer who repetedly harrased me on my property, and after banning him he continued to break through my property..I was told he reported me for banning him and freezing him and shooting at him from my land and using foul lang in a pg sim i even talked to a linden to take care of him and told me if i had anymore probems to contact her and file a report.. MMmmm funny i had him on ignore but i still get punished unfair? yes i am getting a raw deal

I'm seeing more and more cases like this. Seems a bit out of control.

Unbelievable!!! Sorry to hear that Aces, is there anything that we can do?

Not knowing all the issues Aces, of course I cannot take sides. However, I as well as others are getting very tired of Griefers and their attitudes. Frankly, I think a simple solution to the problem would be for a function added to SL code that would completely disable all push/shoot/harass type program functions in sims not specifically designed for warfare. Shooting guns is already banned in Sandboxes... but people do so all the time and griefers often attack newbies in Sandbox. This is not good for SL itself-- as it causes some Newbies to immediately quit the game as "childish".

The code itself needs to put an end to these script functions in public areas... which would effectively put an end to most griefer stunts.

That just blows. A similar incident occured just recently on my land. A person came in and terraformed Aasim w/o permission while a friend was working on terraforming a giant "oak" leaf.

So my friend reported the perpetrator, who got suspended.
Well apparently the perp's sister plays SL, and reported my friend for reporting her brother.
My friend got suspended as well. Suspended because he reported someone. LOL

I too have been suspended, but only for an hour.



Earler today gord sandbox was killed, No linden activity. Then Cordlova was crashed by kelf quirk(using lag rockets.) no linden activity then kelf starts attacking people with self replicating balls that push you into space, i report abuse again, no activity.

I say the work c*** in a PG area and I'm banned for an hour.

Aces, I am really sorry this happened to you. It is frustrating that the tools to ban someone from our land are so completely inadequate, and when you are being griefed and try to do something to stop it, you end up in trouble yourself. I had the same problem with the racist idiot who was building on my land - when I banned him he came right back over and over again and kept bothering me because of the stupid height limit. One thing I don't understand is how freezing him could possibly be part of a TOS violation, as they provide this option to deal with being griefed.

Don't let it anger you too much. Check out World of Warcraft instead

I know Aces, and I know she ain't the type to do anything that is worthy of suspension.

Lindens... You really need to fix this. If all it takes is to file a fictitious abuse report to get someone suspended, I can think of a few folks that I wouldn't mind seeing gone for a while.

Aces - that is just bizarre. Has someone new taken over enforcement or is some sort of automated suspension system in place that does not quite have the bugs worked out on it yet?

This is just a really strange, tin foil sort of conspiracy type question but...

Are the Lindens being less than fair in their enforcement of issues in order to encourage a self government?

That being said, this is a disturbing trend - suspending people without talking to them first, especially when some many have been reminded to report abuse OVER AND OVER.

Doubtful Rose. Unfortunatly, inconsistancies in "enforcements" and discipline have been a long standing issue with SL. As has been the fact that people rarely know why exactly they are being suspended or banned. Though that last part seems to be improving a nudge.

The more I think about this, the angrier I get. We are given, by LL, certain tools with which to protect ourselves. If, by using them, we will be suspended, what is the point?

And I cannot believe that so many people are being suspended without it seems even a cursory investigation into the situation.

That really sucks, Aces! Have you tried emailing, or hell, calling them to explain what happened?

I had spoken to jill linden while this asshole will still harrasing me and asked her to come quick.. 12 min latershe arrived.. i used my serubro to push this asshole from my land but he kept comming back at me even after i froze and banned him she said it was most likely a bug and would look into it for me.. i never swore once at the guy i had him on ignore fgs
