ooo yes, thats a great idea! now we can all run around SL looking alike and not have a unique look to any of us , this is ridiculous. The wonderful thing about Second life is we have so many designers who all are unique. why do we *need* nor want a SINGLE designer for the "major" sectors? As I said earlier, Second life is for everyone to express there individuality. I would Love to see your list for the designers you would like to be a "major" in each sector, im sure your the type who loves to hurt peoples feelings. I do not know what you do In SL, and I really don't care. But im sure if you were a clothing designer, skin maker, animation maker, etc. you would have a problem with this thread.

Hmm..I don't use any of those services. Are they mandatory? Did I miss a memo? I just IM folks using..umm..IMs, and when I take a snapshot I either save it as a texture or save it to my hard drive, I don't do any web-shopping for SL items, cause I usually don't shop or buy anything anymore unless it's to see the sites in SL.

Bet alot of other people don't use them either, even though I'm sure they are all wonderful services and great ideas.

Armani, I guess you didn't understand the irony in my post and my huge sarcasm in saying "one of everything" -- I agree that we need diversity.

I don't know if you've ever noticed the pattern of all the people who harass me and fight me in the forums:

o the top skin designer (or at least the most vocal one!)
o the top animations maker (or at least the most vocal one)
o the top clothing designer
o the top eyewear maker
o the top aircraft designer

etc. lather rinse repeat

What they'd like to do is remain at the top of their sector. Who can blame them? Everyone tries to do that. Perhaps they believe that due to hard work, long hours, and huge investments, they *deserve* to stay at the top of their sector, in control of their sector, and indeed in control of the game.

I just find this too much like the fascistic ideology of corporativism, however, to support it as a model for a society, especially a virtual one.

All your friends who are clothign designers and skin makers ought to give some thought to this: they don't post in the forums. They have no influence on the ideological discussions about this game. They do not get attention from the Lindens, who regrettably pay far more attention to this forum (judging from their zeal to close threads) than they do to their own impartial inworld market and sociological research -- which, if conducted would yield a very different picture.

Mistaking "vocal poster who happens to sell (product) and happens to disagree with me" for "Monopolistic proprieter of (product), crushing all opposition and stiffling innovation" is a pretty wild blunder even for you, Prok.
