I kept think I'd log in a bit.. look around and report here in the forums..
But I'm short for words. It took a lot LESS (as Sue unfortunately found out) to get removed leaving a very peaceful atmosphere. The games where fun and cooperative, not competitive. atms went down a LOT of sl-only related stuff was not turned off... I tried live help and got SL lindens. mixed feelings all around. But I did notice an VERY nice build and it is, in fact, educational. Please give Dee Fargo a warm towel if you see her, she is overworked. |

? We can use our StageCoach names to post in the forums here on SL?
Anyway, I hope you all liked the pics. I thought the sim was amazingly well done. I mean just great. No lag at all, I had my draw distance up over 300 the whole time with no problems. I cant do that on the main grid on an island sim. The activities were really fun. The catapult required people to *gasp* work together to accomplish the goal of shooting someone off. You could not do it alone. Same thing for that spinning firework machine. 4 people got to get it going. I think NotQuite Fetid go a little sick. ![]() It was nice to finally meet you Song Singer. ![]() Great job to all those involved and I had a blast! |

Oh RATS I tried to pick the first name "Techno" and it said:
•Your Second Life first name may not contain the word tech. Hmmm wonder if that's a bug 'cuz it's not SL in a sense. Bit confuzzling. Okeydoke let's see... _____________________

Just a guess ... words that indicate authority may be banned to avoid noobie confusion- like "tech", "mentor", "Linden", etc -- try other words like this? _____________________

Hi guys! Could you elaborate on those ATM bugs?
There was a minor issue that did spew out a MySQL message if you checked your balance before you had an account. This is tangential to the core functionality though... it was me being absent-minded again. When I added the transaction logging module, in the case where you did not have an account yet, I mistakenly passed it the variable containing the error message string instead of your account balance. There have never been any bugs with the Deposit feature, so if you can confirm that Deposits stopped working I am VERY interested in hearing about that. There are sometimes problems with Withdrawals, particularly when LL's email system is overloaded, but AFAIK it will not fail, just take a while longer. Also, sometimes the bank server loses debit permissions when the sim crashes... but that's also a Linden bug, nothing I can do about it ![]() If you find that one of the products is not working PLEASE send me the name and coordinates! There's like 500 products and at least one of them ended up running an outdated copy of the scripts that contains a bug... it will not give you inventory but will charge you for it. I will happily refund you lost money, and even throw you some L$ from my pocket money for every bug you find! ![]() _____________________

Dunno if it's been mentioned before, but I can transfer money and inventory between my SL accounts and SI account

In conclusion the only strategy that wins in all cases is that of doing what you want against all adversity, as long as you respect that right in others.

Have it email you on server crash and do an auto-logon to reset the debit permission. IM me in world for some example code if you're interested. |

That's a clever trick, but I'm afraid it's not that simple. There are a number of different islands, each with its own bank server, and I can't move between islands without a Linden teleporting me ![]() I am working on a system to relay payments from server to server and delist non-permissive or non-responsive servers from the database but it's not fully functional yet. After it's done, the system will degrade gracefully until all bank servers are gone, which is unlikely to happen since there is also a bank server on the special development island, away from pesky users and sim crashes ![]() _____________________

Interesting. The lindens realise the value of shards.
How many servers? I gotta admit, they're doing a lot of wild things here. Wonder if they'll release this stuff or its all one off for wells fargo / big clients. |

The stagecoach islands use the same setup as the orientation islands. When you create an SI account you end up in a random server. They bring them up and take them down manually to accomodate load. Too little population density and the game is boring, too much and the game is laggy.
I was told we would start at 7 servers, possibly moving up to 30 later, but to keep in mind that if the project was very successful they could grow it up to 100 or more. _____________________

I could write a script in probably about 2 hours that will auto-create accounts on the SI island and then transfer the money into an account on the main island. You really gotta fix that. |

You really gotta fix that. There is no way *I* can fix it. This is probably because all the grids share the same asset server. You can do the same with the teen grid... except cross-grid stuff is supposedly monitored and after a single warning you will get permabanned. I knew very well that this stuff would happen, and I did tell LL about the little keyboard shortcut workaround. I have been relying on it to update scripts and stuff. _____________________
