Nah, we were being told before Ardith's comments that we were piling on. Anyone who disagrees with a few select posters on these forums are always told they are bandwagoners piling on. It's so obvious and pathetic. I agree with Cristiano's post 100%. It's just a lame tactic employed to marginalize some people's opinions. It's become quite hackneyed and trite.

Beautiful find Kris!! From: Cocoanut Koala I noticed that earlier tonight, Roberta! I, too, figured it must be people buying up first land as alts. I didn't realize it was against the rules (and I have not done it), but I suppose it is against the rules by sheer virtue of the whole principle of "First Land." I figured they were cracking down cause maybe a lot of people had gotten extra alts during the free trial and were using them to pick up extra first land.
In any case, this means there will be more First Land available for new players who are really looking for their first bit of land, which hasn't been easy to find.

Thanks, Emma. Yeah it has descended a bit into unnecessary personal attacks, but overall I think it has been a good thread (though without the Lindens intervening with their opinion, neither side is really going to convince the other so we are going round and round in a circle). Perhaps that is what makes it a cluster fuck - no matter what either side says, it's not going to change anything, so basically we are just hearing ourselves talk, so to speak.

The difference would be using the trial accounts to set up a bunch of alts for free, then selling them off to make a profit, or selling them to your own land company, then deleting those alts. I don't see anything wrong with having an actual, real account, getting first land, then selling it later (though I don't intend to do so.) coco |

coco You can't own land without a premium account. Wouldn't they be buying 5 premium accounts?

Thanks for marginalizing MY opinions, Nolan. It seems pretty damned hypocritical to dismiss my comments as a "lame tactic". I read this forum and I've read older posts as well. I don't come to my conclusions based on some sort of strategy. I base my comments on what I read and what I think about it. Ardith's recent perjoratives stand out as particularly egregeous examples. Look, these "piling on" claims have been going on much longer than you've been around. Everything is not about you. Plus, those using cheap rhetorical devices like that to marginalize others aren't being marginalized when called out for it. I'm not the one accusing someone of group think Dog. Not to mention, that type of device is usually not an opinion, because the person who uses it generally does not fully disagree with the merits of the opposing argument, and in fact may see some logic in it, which is why they feel the need to use such desperate tactics like implying that anyone who is on the other side of the fence and agrees with others on that side of the fence is incapable of thinking for themselves. Never once have I accused you of not being able to think on your own. I may disagree with you at times, but at least I allow you independent thought. It's simple cause and effect, accuse people of not thinking for themselves, and you might hear about it.
