I got invited into the closed beta, then again for the open beta, then got invited to buy a lifetime membership... but the most I ever did was create this account.
Becase I only use Apple computers. And I didn't want to buy a lifetime membership to a virtual world that they admitted would probably never be available for OS X.
So I watched and waited and finally the Mac Beta, and I got my old account re-activated and here I am, hoppin' and boppin' about!
I'm like an old person with a really long gestation. Perhaps I come from Ork; I was born old.

Misnomer, Ramon, Ama, and I seem to be the oldest respondents to this thread so far (Dec 2002 & Jan 2003). Aurelie's Dec 1969 could have been from anytime in late 2002 thru before Beta concluded in mid 2003, so we would need clarification for her beta start date. The next oldest is not until April 2003. I consider open beta as early-mid April, which coincides with the addition of the first themed communities, Stage4, and the Welcome Area. I remember seeing a Strong Bad avatar, and I think I met Charlie Omega. I ended up wandering off into the Outlands, where I was promptly shot by the later-infamous Jack Miller and teleported back to the corral. Then I proceeded to fly off-world because I missed a server handoff. Those were the days |
