As Kendra would say "links please". Because last time I checked, the NY Times had debunked that whole liar myth you Lefties tell yourselves to sleep better at night.

They did? When was that?

I have to agree with Kendra, I really don't see how the GOP is going to retain control over the seats they have. I see them losing massive ground. There are too many people sick of the war, sick of gas prices, sick of being broke, sick of well a lot of things.

I think both polical parties are dying a slow death. I don't see the 2 party system lasting another 50 years. There are too many media sources, too many bloggers, and too many fed up people with both. We need more citizen politicans and not career politicans. Career politicans only think about ther careers, not about the people. We need term limits, you shouldn't sit on the Senate till you croak of old age on the hill.

I would like a political party that doesn't talk down to me, is real about diversity, supportive of ALL family structures, believers in strong education, anti-prison plantation, smart about abortion, anti-dealth penalty, supportive of flat taxes, and pro-small business. Currently, there is no party that meets my needs as a citizen.

You are making the claim that this administration has NEVER lied to the American public? Fascinating.

I think we should make Kiamat link to something where Bush told the truth!

Be a lot easier than having us link to all the lies.

Interesting set of views, and I can honestly say very similar to mine. I wish people would realize that the keys to evolving the human race further ahead involve cooperation and education. THe better the education resources available, the better informed people become. And when government hides more and more of what it does away from the public, the public has a right to know what is occurring, and to take steps to find out. Prisons need to rehabilitate those they can, and get them back into society as functional members. Abortion is a woman's right to choose, and death penalties are as barbaric as they come. Not sure on flat taxes, but I agree that I think the gap between those who "have" and those who "have not" is widening fast. And small business always seems to get the short end of the stick. Hard to compete when you have a Wally World Inc breathing down your back.

Um he said he "thinks" -- he doesn't have to provide links to validate how he feels. You, however, are making a statement that the NY Times had debunked something or another. Therefore, you SHOULD be providing links.

That may take some research on Kiamat's part. Easier to type invectiveness than provide hard data. Reality is that the public appears to be getting tired of the current administration via the numerous polls that show the ratings slipping away.

Lots of Americans are angry. Republicans are better at that.

You show me the "lies" and I'll show you the evidence against it. If you want me to put up links to all his truths I'd just link to every speech he made.

Liberals have been calling him a liar since day one and have not been able to prove a single one of their theories. Not one.

WMDs: Was Bush incorrect in what he said about Iraqi WMDs? Sure. Was it a lie? No. He said what several countries believed to be true. Hell, what Saddam's own generals believed to be true.

Stolen Election: Didn't happen. Investigation after investigation has shown that Bush one both elections.

What else? You're the ones calling the man a liar. Prove it.

I agree with Eboni-we need a new party and term limits for everyone.

Anyone have any thoughts as to why we see this overall shift toward conservatism?

I could do this forever, but let's start with these beauties...

"Now, by the way, any time you hear the United States government talking about wiretap, it requires — a wiretap requires a court order. Nothing has changed, by the way."

"When we’re talking about chasing down terrorists, we’re talking about getting a court order before we do so. It’s important for our fellow citizens to understand, when you think Patriot Act, constitutional guarantees are in place when it comes to doing what is necessary to protect our homeland, because we value the Constitution."

Oh, you mean the highly classified operation that you nor anyone else not fully briefed could not possibly know enough about to call it a lie? Try something you can prove.

The President said we use warrants and court orders.

Now he says he doesn't use warrants and court orders because he's President and he doesn't have to.

Which one is true??

He broke the fucking law! And then he lied about breaking the fucking law!

If my civil liberties were lips he'd be shoving his cock in my mouth.

Oh yes may I play too? Lets talk about the 'war on terrorism' :)

0 – Number of meetings held by Vice President Cheney’s counterterrorism task force (which was created in May 2001)

0 – References to Al Qaeda in Dr. Rice’s 2000 Foreign Affairs article listing Bush’s top foreign affairs priorities

0References to Al Qaeda in Secretary Rumsfeld 2001 memo outlining national security priorities

0References to terrorism is Justice Department's top seven goals for 2001

0Number of National Security Council meetings held by Bush administration before invasion of Iraq was discussed (i.e., it was discussed at the very first meeting)

1 – Number of times the Bush administration mentioned al Qaeda prior to 9-11. This was in a notice continuing an executive order issued by President Clinton.

1Number of hours President Bush and Vice President Cheney agreed to allow in their joint meeting with the 9-11 panel.

2 – Number of National Security Council meetings on terrorism prior to 9-11 (out of approximately 100).

2 – Weeks into administration when Energy Task Force announced.

2 – Number of public statements by the Bush administration mentioning Osama bin Laden prior to 9-11 (excluding press briefings and press questions which would raise the total to 19)

4 – Minimum number of Al Qaeda millennium attacks thwarted by the Clinton administration (only plots to bomb Seattle, Los Angeles, Brooklyn and Jordan have been specifically identified)

4 – Number of hours Bush spent with Bob Woodward as part of his book, “Bush at War.”

4 – Months into Bush administration when aid to the Taliban was restored.

4 – Months into administration when Energy Task Force report was released.

6 – Months that it would take for Vice President Cheney to respond to draft counterterrorism and homeland security legislation sent to him on July 20, 2001 by Senators Feinstein and Kyl, as stated by his top aid.

6 – Months before 9-11 that Paul Bremer - current Iraq administrator and former chairman of the National Commission on Terrorism - claimed that the Bush administration was “paying no attention” to terrorism. “Bremer stated that the Bush administration would “stagger along until there’s a major incident and then suddenly say, ‘Oh my God, shouldn’t we be organized to deal with this.’”

8 – Months the administration sat on an “urgent” request from its counterterrorism chief (Clarke) to meet about al Qaeda.

9 – Percentage cut sought by Bush in FY2005 budget for Nunn-Lugar program to secure Soviet nuclear material and prevent them from getting into the hands of terrorists, while pushing for billions in spending to deploy an unproven missile defense system.

10 – Number of meetings of Cheney’s Energy Task force prior to 9/11

12 – Number in thousands of US troops in Afghanistan Winter 2004 (compared to 150,000 in Iraq)

36 – Months passed without any meeting of the Cheney terrorism task force since its formation in May 2001

58 – Number of days President Bush spent in Kennebunkport or at his Crawford ranch from January 21 to September 10, 2001

101– Number of public statements by the Bush administration on his missile defense (aka Star Wars) program from January 21 to September 10, 2001.

104 Number of public statements by the President Bush on Saddam Hussein from January 21 to September 10, 2001

150 – Number in thousands of US troops in Iraq Winter 2004

700 – Millions of dollars Bush administration diverted from war against Al Qaeda to prepare for Iraq war.

800 – Millions of dollars Congress sought to shift from missile defense to counter-terrorism programs prior to 9/11, but Bush threatened to veto any such measure.

President Bush admitted to Bob Woodward that “I didn’t feel the sense of urgency,” about terrorism before 9/11.

In April 2001 the administration released the government’s annual terrorism report with no extensive mention of Osama bin Laden as in prior years. A State Department official told CNN that "the Clinton administration had made a mistake in focusing so much energy on bin Laden.”

Similarly, at an April meeting of deputies Clarke urged a focus on Al Qaeda. Deputy Defense Secretary Wolfowitz responded, “No, no, no. We don’t have to deal with al-Qaeda. Why are we talking about that little guy? We have to talk about Iraqi terrorism against the United States.”

In addition, General Donald Kerrick, the deputy National Security Advisor under Clinton who stayed on for a few months with the Bush administration, wrote a memo to his successor (Stephen Hadley) that the administration needed to pay attention to al Qaeda since they will strike again. “They never once asked me a question nor did I see them having a serious discussion about it. They didn’t feel it was imminent the way the Clinton administration did.”

The Bush administration terminated a highly classified program to monitor Al Qaeda suspects in the U.S. and even provided aid to the Taliban in 2001. (9)

Today's Bush Lie

"[Castro] welcomes sex tourism," Bush told a room of law enforcement officials in Florida, according to the Los Angeles Times. "Here's how he bragged about the industry," Bush said. "This is his quote: 'Cuba has the cleanest and most educated prostitutes in the world.'"

"As it turns out, Bush had lifted that quotation not from an actual Castro speech but rather from a 2001 essay written by then Dartmouth University undergraduate Charles Trumbull. In the essay, Trumbull did appear to quote a Castro speech about prostitution. Sadly, the student made the quotation up.

"According to officials, the actual quotation from Castro's 1992 speech reads as follows: 'There are hookers, but prostitution is not allowed in our country. There are no women forced to sell themselves to a man, to a foreigner, to a tourist. Those who do so do it on their own, voluntarily. We can say that they are highly educated hookers and quite healthy, because we are the country with the lowest number of AIDS cases.'" "...And this isn't the first time the Internet has baffled Bush. Back in 2003, the President cited another student's thesis when making a case to go to war. The student's [plagiarized and "sexed up"] work ended up in a government document describing Iraq's weapons capability. Not exactly the kind of hard intelligence needed to justify an attack on another country." The Register, 07.28.04

No. He is saying that no warrants happen without a court order and NOW he says he doesn't require warrants at all. He can do what he likes and says he'll do it again whenever he pleases.

He LIED when he said he had to use warrants --I don't have to be anything but AWAKE to see the lie.
