Wasn't it you who just said "...... It's when the minority become more vocal than their numbers warrant that we see the problems."?
If atheists are the minority, aren't you telling them to sit down and shut up?

I realize that, to some Xians, non-believers are all "evil atheists" out to "tear up the Constitution", but in reality most of us don't really care for publicity and we like the Constitution just the way it was written. We just want to live our lives in peace and not worry about Christian Cops pounding on our doors in the middle of the night. Putting aside the likes of Madelyn Murray O'Hair or Michael Newdow, we're not the ones raising a stink. We're not the ACLU, we don't control the ACLU, and we're not out to destroy your church, your family or your Constitution (we have families too and it's also our Constitution). Nope, instead we see people who want to mischaracterize the battle over prayer in schools, destroy the rights of homosexual citizens and install "Bible based government" in Washington. We don't have that kind of power -- Christians do. And yet, while they're maneuvering in the halls of power they're also crying crocodile tears over being "persecuted", which is complete bullshit. You can't be persecuted when you are the majority and in power.
No, I'm not telling anyone to sit down and shut up. I'm telling you that a minority of Christians are abusing the emotional power they have over their majority and convincing them that the real bogeymen are non-believers and gays. If you want to know how that works out, see also: "Afghanistan, Taliban".
You are correct, the problems arise when minorities are more vocal than their numbers warrant.
But in America we want opposition to maintain a balance of opinions.

Everyone deserves a voice. I never disputed that. But when the voice of the majority dictates that my children must pray in school, or that my gay friends cannot enjoy the same civil rights as me, it's time for a reality check.
