I don't think that fellow is concerned about facts. In less than three posts, they've established themselves as a poorly educated middle-class stereotypical right-wing fundamentalist. Maybe if we're lucky they'll grace us with some caustic and borderline misogynistic anti-Hillary "humor" in their next post. ![]() ~Ulrika~ I'm waiting in breathless anticipation! _____________________

Well I dont normally take requests but Ill get working on it right away miss. And by the way you typically call guys "fellows". Of all your seemingly hostile accusations you only got one right...I am actually middle class...like most Americans so they could have been luck. Poorly Educated...he he my parents are still reminding me how much they paid for my education...trust me you could buy more land than Anshe Chung with that much money.
![]() Stereotypical? Actually im more a mono person myself. And Right-winged? Please whatever would give you that idea he he ![]() _____________________

I'd prefer if you'd drop the nicities like "kindly." It makes you look insincere. Maybe I just don't like people telling me to shove something up my ass simply because I don't conform to their judeo-christian worldview? Oh, that's right, I'm the intolerant one. I forget. Clearly it wasn't the group of Christians who decided to use the deaths of Korean war veterans in an attempt to save their giant idol when its legality was rightfully challenged. I'm not sure how exactly it honors the fallen soldiers to use their deaths after the fact as a gimmick to serve a narrow parochial evangelical agenda. I don't mean secular Humanist values. No doubt they are a part of this nations founding, but Secular Humanist values do not hold the honor exclusively. hmmmm... The United States of America have exhibited, perhaps, the first example of governments erected on the simple principles of nature; and if men are now sufficiently enlightened to disabuse themselves of artifice, imposture, hypocrisy, and superstition, they will consider this event as an era in their history. Although the detail of the formation of the American governments is at present little known or regarded either in Europe or in America, it may hereafter become an object of curiosity. It will never be pretended that any persons employed in that service had interviews with the gods, or were in any degree under the influence of Heaven, more than those at work upon ships or houses, or laboring in merchandise or agriculture; it will forever be acknowledged that these governments were contrived merely by the use of reason and the senses. Thirteen governments [of the original states] thus founded on the natural authority of the people alone, without a pretence of miracle or mystery, and which are destined to spread over the northern part of that whole quarter of the globe, are a great point gained in favor of the rights of mankind. _____________________

Okay, this is what I'm talking about, Ulrika. Why the cheap shot? Ah she cant help it. She is cheap and shot. Cheap cause she only offers us so many words in her posts and Shot because the fact that she has yet to present a real argument against anything I say leads me to believe that she doesnt have one. And yes I did have to fight off the urge to ask you how much bartending school cost you but that would be stupid and immature so Ill just let you take your shots. I'm not sure how exactly it honors the fallen soldiers to use their deaths after the fact as a gimmick to serve a narrow parochial evangelical agenda. hmmmm... first off, I told you to shove your cliffs notes up your ass after you "offered" them to me. Get it together, Chip. Our exchange has nothing to do with tolorence, so get over thinking you have the market cornered on that. Yes, the issue of the cross has been legitemately challenged. Nobody said the challenge wasn't legitimate. What many have said is that there is a reasonable compromise to the issue. You have stated that you would be satisfied if the cross was not on land owned by the city. If you are ok with that then perhaps you should discuss ways in which the land could be sold or transferred to an organization or federal department that could legally keep the cross on the land. You really arent in favor of such a proposal. Instead you have advocated for its removal and in the process you have insulted Christians, the memorial and the integrity and intelligence of anyone who supports the cross remaining where it is. Now, as far as John Adams is concerned...how long did it take you to do some google searches and find something that seems to support your point of view? lets see how easy it is....(less than 5 mins later).... John Adams: “ The general principles upon which the Fathers achieved independence were the general principals of Christianity… I will avow that I believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.” • “[July 4th] ought to be commemorated as the day of deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty.” –John Adams in a letter written to Abigail on the day the Declaration was approved by Congress "We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other." --October 11, 1798 "I have examined all religions, as well as my narrow sphere, my straightened means, and my busy life, would allow; and the result is that the Bible is the best Book in the world. It contains more philosophy than all the libraries I have seen." December 25, 1813 letter to Thomas Jefferson Put that wherever you want chip... |

Sorry it was obscure and I was being mainly sarcastic. On a tangent, I was referring to the fact that Sheehan hasn't bothered to mark her son's grave after all this time but had time to ..... See told ya it was a tangent, I wasn't trying to stir really ![]() Wow, talk about taking your own biases and shoving them into an argument! The Fact = A mother has lost her son and has not yet marked his grave. Your assumption = She hasn't bothered to do so. Just because you don't like her politics, why do you feel it necessary to demonize her? Isn't it much more likely that she has not yet been able to emotionally deal with this? Can't you give a grieving mother the benefit of the doubt? She lost her son. He died doing his duty to his country. If you don't like her, at least show some god damned respect for his sacrifice and leave off with the personal attacks on his mother. |

And yet the US economy is at an all time high and the stock market is close to breaking it's all time record. Meanwhile unemployment rates are at historical lows. Oh, and the Republicans just extended the tax cuts that let you *keep* more of your money. You were saying? -Kiamat Dusk Doing well on the surface is not "an all time high" unless you're talking about a bong hit. We don't get to keep more of our money, we get to be more in debt to Communist China. Thanks to tax cuts and Republicans spending like a bunch of drunk Paris Hiltons, we now owe the Chinese over 900 BILLION dollars. I noticed you missed the highest energy prices in history, the highest medical costs in history and, while we're on a roll, the rising poverty rate, the negative savings rate, the growing trade deficit, the highest dependance on foreign oil in history, and Iraq is becoming one of the longest wars in US history. So, yeah, if you're a Republican you might try to cling to the few statistics that look good. But even a Republican should be concerned about the direction this country is headed. |
