From: Billybob Goodliffe its true the majority of white supremacists are actually based out of the Pacific Northwest. I'm not saying there aren't racists in the south, but the only real group is the KKK, most of the Neo-Nazi's and such are in the Pacific Northwest. and here you go http://www.csmonitor.com/2004/0426/p01s01-ussc.html Makes sense... thanks for the link Billybob.

From: Reitsuki Kojima You do realize, of course, that "hate crime" is a stupid, meaningless distinction, particularly in this case, right? Its a seriously over-used charge. FBI Doesn't think so... http://www.fbi.gov/hq/cid/civilrights/hate.htm

The fact that racism exists is sad enough, and since the North and the South are part of ONE country... it's a problem for both.

So? A crime is a crime. Throwing the "hate" designator in is infantile.

From: Burnman Bedlam Are all skinheads racist? Apparently not. But that does not excuse the fact that there are racists who call themselves skinheads. And either the non-racist skinheads are so much of an insignificant minority in the realm of "skinheadedness" that many people have never heard of you, or you guys just royally suck at setting the record straight. Orrrr... you could just not know what the hell your talking about. That explanation works too. The skinhead movement was always a music thing first, mainly punk or ska or speed metal. The majority of skinheads out there aren't racist et al. This is mainly because its hard to sensationalize a person who listens to punk/ska/metal cuts his hair short and goes to work every day just like you and I. You probably know a few skins but don't know they ARE skins. The main problem people are having is a lot of neo nazi's have picked up the skinhead hairstyle, and are thus associated WITH skinheads just because of that. Now all the sudden the public chooses to associate neo nazi with skinhead. Now me.... I ain't a skin, I'm a pure bred metalhead, and I don't even know any skinheads (at least none I've seen in a long long time) but then I don't see my lack of personal affiliation with the group as a reason to run around with my head up my ass. Know the world before you judge it.

From: Billybob Goodliffe *cough *cough* BULL SHIT the largest concentration of racists is actually the Pacific Northwest, please get your facts straight. Somebody said the "F" word - at last. This whole thing has nothing to do with facts, it has to do with peoples perception of them. ( Albeit by a single person or a company - LL ) That - in essence - is the reason so many (myself included) are saying it was wrong to do what was done - it was based on a perception - not on facts.

From: Susie Boffin Hi Nolan. Most people regard skinheads as racist thugs whether that it right or wrong. I don't expect LL to research the origins of Skinheadism before they impose a ban. I have seen the same defense for wearing a swastika with some claiming it is a Native American symbol, thus permissable, while they go around in their Nazi uniforms saying Hiel Hitler. It is the perception of the average SL citizen that matters and not the historical facts. I just came across this topic -- and I had to say something. I think it's truly something to be concerned with when the ignorant perceptions of the majority are determining who is and is not censored. The fact is that not all skinheads are racist. There is nothing inherent in being a skinhead that means one is racist. It it akin to saying that all whites are racist, all blacks are stupid, all Mexicans are lazy, or that all people who practice witchcraft are Satan worshippers, because "most people regard" this as fact (not that they do, but, really, it would depend on who you ask). I think it's a terrible shame that LL is interested in censoring this particular person because of a common misperception instead of making an effort to educate people. By resorting to censorship, LL is essentially perpetuating misinformation. Now this, what next?
