This thread is such a fucking joke. You've GOT to be kidding me. The conversation is going on while they're eating, OF COURSE IT IS GOING TO BE CASUAL IN NATURE.
OH MY FUCKING GOD HE SAID THE WORD SHIT! Who gives a damn? Ironic that this critique is coming from Europe too, whose politicans always behave appropriately and treat one another with the utmost respect. Haha! I thought Bush was a cowboy anyway? Seems to fit the personality type. I've lost some respect for BBC after seeing this out of context, slanted crap. It's hard to even follow the conversation...this is news? I thought BBC was better than this. And listen to the chick giving the analysis... haha. So now we're making judgements of the entire US position on the subject based on a stupid, hard to follow, off record, casual conversation over dinner? It sounds like the people that are giving this snippet so much serious attention and analysis are the real morons here. Instead of trying to make someone look bad, how about actually listening to the things they are actually trying to say, rather than getting fixated on counter-productive nitpicking about how it's being communicated? Wait to see the official communication and speeches and then make your judgement on them. So this woman being interviewed firmly places the blame on Israel huh? Not even a mention of Hezbollah causing the whole thing by kidnapping people. Instead what we get is another "Oh, Israel's response is disproportionate for only responding to the kidnapping of two people!" What a circus! She just says something correct, and then matches it up with something retarded right afterwards. "It seems as if Israel was planning this..." -- OF COURSE Israel has been planning for this kind of contingency. Their survival is at stake fighting these freaks, how could they not have plans? She speaks as if Israel has no excuse to want Hezbollah destroyed because "they only kidnapped two soldiers"... what about all the crap they've done in the past? That is what this is about, the greater picture, not just the kidnapping of two soldiers--the Israelis have had enough and are doing the best they can to destroy a terrorist organization that wants to kill them. Hello lady... now there are missiles being fired out of your country... um could you please stop that from happening? It would really be great. What's that? You can't? Okay then, I guess we'll have to just put up with it then, it's alright. Meanwhile this BBC ass sneaks a comment in trying to give PUTIN (surely the world's greatest defender of democracy and righteousness!) credit for his "efforts". What was that, like an ass kiss or something so the Russians like BBC more? There's nothing new here other than a more candid view of Bush's personality, everyone already knows he's a retarded communicator and just an average schmo (him and every other politician out there just about). So Bush isn't the brightest bulb around--thanks for the news flash...again! I feel so informed now, thank you. Important as it is, there's more to leadership than the ability to communicate well. At least Bush isn't calling on Israel to just ignore the missiles being lobbed at them, and forget about the soldiers that were kidnapped while the ever-so-effective UN tries to find a diplomatic solution. Looking to Israel to be the one to end this conflict and to roll over and do whatever the terrorists demand is not good leadership. Syria must have significant pull with Hezbollah, so yeah, they need to make Hezbollah "stop doing this shit", and it's over. _____________________

CNN ran a poll based on his comment: "Should Syria put pressure on Hezbollah to stop" Not the wording verbatim but close enough) and 59% of the respondents voted Yes. He's a normal guy.. The leader of the free world is a regular joe. I love it. He doesn't pretend to be infallible nor does he attempt to redefine things like the meaning of "sexual relations" (Clinton). im sorry...but the LEADER OF THE "FREE" WORLD should be a fucking superman in my opinion, not an oafish, ill mannered cowboy...<flame away> just my opinion ![]() Heh, in an ideal world. But unfortunately we don't live in anything close to an ideal world. When did we last have a "superman" president (who was very respected while he was president)? By this definition, all you need to be able to do is charm people an communicate well--yeah, Adolf Hitler would agree there. There's other things to consider, too. We don't get "real" people as presidents, just politicians of different types. I don't think Bush is really an everyday guy (just closer to a "regular guy" than usual)... he's more down to earth than alot of politicians, but he's still just another "rich guy" that's out of touch with America. But right now, while we're dealing with all the maniacs in the mideast, I'd rather have someone willing to make a stand even if he's incompetent in other areas. You have to prioritize.. besides, Bin Laden wanted Kerry to win in 2004. Personally I'd rather have the fake dumbass that the terorrist didn't want, rather than the fake dumbass that he tried to help win an election. _____________________

\ That's dumb even for you. Even for me huh? Talk down to me some more, why don't you? Don't you remember the statement Bin Laden released where he said that "blue states" would be spared from terror attacks in the future? How else do you interpret that? Come on he isn't a normal guy, he's the president of the most powerful country in the world! Anything that he does is going to be followed by the media and the people of the world, so even if he farts in public it's news. It might be a casual conversation but since it's honest and unrehersed it gives an insight on his opinions of the situation. Shooting the messenger for reporting this is so typical plus the BBC being neutral in giving both sides of the story only show up your own biased opinions. I though the Americans were over this Russian crap but habits die hard it seems. |

I think he has some similarities to a normal guy, mixed in with the bad elements of being a politician and so on. But this messenger deserved to be shot! Both sides of the story? Where is the other side of the story here? I can't seem to find it anywhere. _____________________
