Well, since the space server went down, it takes the entire grid with it. Does anyone know if the islands also had the "balls of death"?

A Linden announcement is up now--took out the space server, whatever that is.

We saw the balls at DWA tringo too. I managed to TP out before the crash.

Anyone know what this guy's beef is?

Clearly that mommy took him off the breast a wee bit too early.

Not loved enough as a child..

For those of you who don't know LL just extended the wait time to 3 hours, I expect it to go up some more as they realise how much crap there is to clean up

so- now we're all here - i spy with my little eye....

for the last 4-5 days ive been shot - blown up and pushed by greifers in the sandboxes - one of them kept doing after i asked - told - stuck up signs and told the lindens, yet he didnt get so much as a slap on the wrist

yet i drop an item that has a picture of the pyscho film poster with pres bush on it and i get 2 formal warnins, one in sl and emailed 2 me

what happened 2 the everyone will be treated the same and disaplinary action shall be taken?

i know a few people that create sim killers - the set em off for fun - yet their still in world

DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT LINDENS!

I live in Dreamland, Galileo sim, and I didnt see any of the spheres but I could feel the lag and such. Nor did I see anything on my neighbors land. For those of you that dont know Dreamland is masses of Islands. So in answer to the persons question if people saw anything on the islands, where I was is a no.

Thanks.. I went by there right after getting kicked out, but haven't been back since.. sigh.. I knew this was gonna happen when the lindens started the free accts... Betcha dollars-to-lindens (or donuts) that the bozo is a freebee... oh well... Hope the linden janitors get the crud cleaned up soon, as I'm itching to get back to terraforming.... :->

I say they should take the time to just upgrade to 1.7 while they're at it. Less work and might as well while the grid is down.

how on earth did the attacker manage to spread these replicating balls to every sim? dont most objects disappear if they are bounced out of a sim?..

this is definately an attack on SL and it would be safe to say LL has probably already lost $ because of the incident.

I can't read quick enough to keep up didn't see the spheres in Laka, I was < 10 m away from sim boundary, but did see time dilation drop to .03 and stick there for a while before the crash.

Is there a desription of the servers anywhere? what is a space server?

i dont think banned for quite a while is good enough
by reading all the posts here it seems this was a deliberate and well thought out attack against SL freedom and security, if it involves LL losing $'s then it may even be a legal matter.

I saw these things coming down while i was crashing..able to get my first negitve rating ever out before i went down. I want this person's name in game and I want to ban him/them from every piece of land I own!! HA HA!

Number one: Greifing a whole game? What kind of life(if any at all) does someone have to have to even THINK of doing something like this...
Number Two: Being hated and shunned by the whole SL community. Maybe that may not bother some people, but if would SURE bother ME!
Number Three: Not only being banned from SL, but a possible Lawsuit as well?

I was in the sandbox's working on a M-249 SAW and one of my friends wanted to see it so I TP him nothing happens and I am like WTF... then I am logged out and did not see a ball, if this guy did do this he should be IP Banned and have charges placed ageist him. I want to know how one person can take SL down with a ball, we need more then just Lindens Protecting SL

Judging from the size of this incident I would assume that the resident either spent a few days seeking out and placing his/her doomsday devices all over the mainland, probably in land areas with no autoreturn enabled. (Most likely scenario) then with a simple external e-mail broadcast trigger these devices. Thus causing the devices to have a bad case of diarhea spewing out the balls after eating bad Chinese...

I'm no expert when it comes to scripting, but this would be my best guess as to how the grid could've been brought to its knees in such a short period of time. Rather upsetting to see the grid being attacked in such a fashion, ruining the fun and hard work of those who respect the grid and respect Linden Labs for what they have given us.
