Why can't they just use normal english instead?

Just because you are not familiar with a word doesn't mean everybody else should be prevented from using it.

I really don't think you understand why I keep on bringing up the fact that it's a contest ad. And no, I didn't mean to say that people who pay $200 USD to get an ad shown higher in a device that has a search engine and category features make low quality stuff, but that $200 USD isn't going to guarantee them business {teleports does not equal business}. And really, until I hear from multiple people or see some kinda data showing me that not being on the first page equals a collapse of business {such as making less money per month then they would have including ad fees}, your facts will remain meaningless. Not suggesting your facts have anything to do with the case in hand anyways.

Besides, unless you are into the business of selling $10,000 linden products, I don't think + or – 10 or so teleports a day is going to justify the ad fee you forked out.

I'll reclarify what I said on the teleports. Over that point needing to scroll down, 50 or more (sometimes up to 80 or more, below that point needing o scroll down 40 or fewer.

I'm saying that your "facts" don't apply to this situation. It's so grossly illogical that I have no idea how you hang on to the idea that this contest is effecting businesses that have nothing in relation at all to the contest. If LL put up an ad advertising shirts or something that they themselves made and are selling, then your "facts" would apply. Of course, that's if you disreguard the fact that it's LLs game and they can do what ever the hell they want, or the fact that quality matters and not ranking, or the fact that there's a search tool and a catagory tool so you won't browse through things that doesn't apply to what your looking for.

Edit - And you really should stop backing up your agruements with facts that you don't post {like any sort of data} and don't just come from personal expirence.

People who browse the classifieds aren’t always looking for something, nor do they always know what they are looking for, it's up to the first few spaces to persuade them. If I see a fun casino at the top, I gamble a store that looks good, I shop, and I don’t just stop at that first store, if the classifieds get me in a shopping mood, I will visit all my old haunts. If the classifieds get me interested in gambling, you can be sure I won’t be shopping. Most of my friends are the same way. Sure there is a search tool, but not very useful the way me and my friends play, and I'm 100% sure we aren’t the only ones.

It seems alot of the arguements I'm hearing is coming from the logic that clicking on the contest will somehow make it so people will instantly be disconcerned with anything else, if the contest interest them or not. Like after they click on it they'll go, "God damnit I don't want to participate in this event! I'm not even going to look at anything else now! DAMNIT!".

Do you people understand why I keep on bringing up the fact that it's a CONTEST?

Do you have the slightest comprehension that someone got bumped off the front page and that person is VERY MUCH NOT getting what they paid for? Do you have the slightest comprehension that LL said listings are ordered by AMOUNT PAID then no warnings just MOVED PAID advertisements from their contracted slots with no compensation? It doesn't matter what the ad is for, it could be an ad trying to sell phillip's sparkly thong, the above statements are still true.

Actually that is EXACTLY what did happen. I saw the add, it made me mad, I closed the classifieds box, and posted, I haven't opened the classifieds since. I'm sure at least 1 other person saw it and closed the box, so that's at least 2 lost sales for whoever may have been there.

To be honest I don't even know if their add is still there or not, but it didn't put me in a shopping mood, now did it?

Using insanity as an arguement only works in courts.

No, what the advertisement is for means EVERYTHING in this situation. The ad is completely null to those that aren't seeking a contest. Your agruement is clinging to the insane idea that people do the following.

A) Look only at the first page and will spend money on the advertisement that suits what they want best at the moment, even if the choice isn't at all ideal or if there are better choices to be had.

B) Never search for anything in particular and will never scroll.

C) That someone shopping for shoes won't be able to shop for them because they aren't on the first page.

D) Never use the search or catargory tools.

But then again, I can see someone who spends $200 USD on an ad to think this way.

Well the Ad was gone a couple hours ago.. so you are now safe to browse the classifieds to search for that ever elusive deal at the scroll border.

Now Now... don't worry... I'm sure that super deal at the scroll border isn't going to get bumped off at all.. you know they paid for that exact position in the list, so of course they won't get bumped off by any other valid advertisement using the correct place to advertise.

Oh and don't scroll down to the $5,000 linden area as there is one of those oh so nast Linden Advertisements advertising a contest with a prize of 100,000 lindens.. that I'm absolutely positive not one other resident of SL would care to know about when they look at the classified.. because they are looking there to decide if they want to go to the Casino, Home Depotz, Buy a Car or a Jedi lightsabre, some sex animations....

Ok here is the data as much as I could get.

First three days 154 visits. All three days above that point. Went below sometime midweek due to non LL ads and it dropped off considerably.

Next two days 74

Today was bad, no TP available for 12 hours to Dimidiata and barely 20 teleports.
