$50,000 add for Lindens???

They want to promote their thing the same as you do. If you had as many ways to do it as them, you'd likely milk that cow until she was dry. More to the point, I, like many others, do not open the classifieds and skim the first page to see where I can find the best gambling and e-boobs. If I want something, I do a search, and if I do a search, even the 50L ads pop up. Right there. All the ads for Nakama are 50L ads, last I checked, because if someone is looking for Nakama, the 20000L ads will appear in the same place as the 50L ads, and that money is better spent on the place and the products. Ads that really make a difference are on websites and in SL magazines, and on SLex and SLB. The classifieds are where you go when you already have something in mind, but maybe that's just me.

Why can't they just use normal english instead?

I am one of those people who paid to get high on that list and frankily I dont really care.

How many of you are actually paying top dollar for those ads?

How many of us are actualy MAKING top dollar to place a top dollar add? It's the small fry that is hurting, and whoever got bumped off the front page by that linden.

It's not a common word in everyday usage, certainly not with anyone I've ever spoken to.

I've never placed an ad - nor am I likely to anytime soon - but I can see how this is unfair. Let's say you paid real cash for an ad spot in the classifieds, and woohoo, you're on page 1! Then a Linden add for "$L50,000" knocks you to page 2, or 3, or 4. The battle in classifieds is for attention, users have to pay for it, apprently Lindens can get it for free in the same space. Seems fundamentally unfair to me.

This would be a problem if it weren't just one large page, and the fact that it's a contest. Unless your business is based around the hope that people are browsing for contest but find your ad that has nothing to do with contest instead, where they then go and give you their business because they didn't scroll past your ad, well then you're out of business. LL really fudged you over there.

I believe the primary concern here is the default classifieds page listings. Why should LL take away ranking from people who have spent hundreds of US dollars to get those rankings? With all the other ways they can get the word out, I see no need to intrude on the paid classifieds.

I know, but,my point is that it doesn't effect anyone at all, thus it's not an issue that should be discussed with... people. Don't mean to sound harsh, but the logic in me is yelling, "WTF GUYS, WTF?".

Does the ad not appear on the default classifieds page? If it does (I am not IW atm to see) then someone's paid ad got knocked off that page. It doesn't affect me at all, as I have nothing in the classifieds atm. It's nothing I would loose any sleep over, I just think LL should have considered that before placing a high dollar ad in the classifieds.

I imagine business might be down for you right now but I don't think it's from this person making an advertisement like this.

Its not me that is losing business, Pixeldolls was was the one knocked off the list by Linden labs, and I'm sure their money is worth just as much as mine. I'm not in the running here. I just saw it and it upset me is all.
